Deep within the woods, there were beautiful lights appearing in the skies above.

"Ooh! The sky's awake." Winter smiled.

Carmine, however, was shivering, and sitting on the back of a snow pony wasn't exactly helping.

"Okay, I gotta get down!"

Carmine jumped off of Winter's back.

"You cold?" Caroline asked, concerned.

"A little."

Caroline hugged Carmine to try and heat him a little with the warmth of her body.

"How's that?"

"A little better."

"So, about these friends," said Ahsoka. "They're more like family. I was born in their land, but then I moved away with my family."

"And I was born there as well," said Obi-Wan. "When I turned eighteen, I was chosen to go live in the palace with your family, Carmine. To help train your brother and help him gain control of his powers. What a good job I did." Obi-Wan said that last bit with sarcasm. "Anyway, Carmine... your father... he was one of us as well."

"He was?"

"Indeed. All of us were just born with unique abilities. Sometimes we inherit it from our parents, sometimes we don't. It's hard to explain. But, these experts... they are good people. Peacekeepers. They know a thing or two about love. However, they've been living amongst other beings, who have alliance with them."

"What kind of alliance?" Padme asked.

"They protect each other and the forest. I must warn you, however, some can be a little hard to understand, and some are a little touchy, overbearing, and some... wild. You'll understand better when you meet them."

"They sound wonderful." Caroline said.

Suddenly, they came to another bit of the forest, where there were eyes glowing from behind the bushes, which had Carmine gasping. He wasn't the only one though. The horses were spooked by the sudden sight of eyes looking right at them. And out from the bushes came wolves!
Everyone but Obi-Wan and Ahsoka was scared. Artoo started to growl and get into a defensive stance to protect his people.

"Whatever you do, don't take your eyes off of them...I'll distract them, you run." Winter whispered. "Hi... Obi-Wan and Ahsoka's family. I understand that you're love experts?"

But, the others didn't run.

"Carmine, because I love you, run!" Winter said through her teeth.

"Uh... Obi-Wan... should we really be letting these wolves get close to us?" Carmine squeaked.

"Settle down now, everyone." Obi-Wan said. "You can stop acting scary now, everyone."

That was when the wolves began standing on their back legs and turning into humans, and out came people in brown robes with metal rods on their belts.

"Obi-Wan Kenobi has returned!" exclaimed one Jedi.

"Ahsoka Tano as well!" exclaimed another.

All of these new people were so happy to see Obi-Wan and Ahsoka. Everyone else was a bit confused though. Artoo started to sniff the wolves turned humans.

"It's nice to see all of you. But, where are Queen Ashina and Master Yoda?"

"They're resting right now," said one werewolf who wore a crown of leaves. His name was Garrett, the prince of the werewolves. "Hi. Those of you who don't know me, I'm Garrett."

"Werewolves." Carmine gasped.

"Jedi. They're Jedi!" Caroline exclaimed.

That was when some of the older Jedi saw Carmine, and they realized he had a girl beside him.

"It's Prince Carmine, and he has a girl!" exclaimed another Jedi.

Everyone got excited. Some of the older Jedi took a good look at Carmine.

"Look at you, Carmine. So tall and handsome. Like your father." said an older Jedi named Jocasta.

"A real beauty this little lady is," said a dark-skinned Jedi named Mace Windu, getting a good look at Caroline. "How'd Carmine land a catch like you?"

"Just lucky, I guess." Caroline said.

"There is no such thing as luck," said another Jedi, named Ki-Adi Mundi.

"Wait, so I've met you guys before?" Carmine sounded confused.

"You were just a little boy then," said Master Koth. "You probably don't remember."

"It's true, Carmine. All the eldest Jedi here, they were there for you and Anakin at your christening when you were babies."

"Your parents had to dress you in different colors so we could tell you apart then," said Master Windu. "But look at you now, all grownup and with...?"

"Oh! Yeah, everyone, this is Caroline, princess of Lakswana. My girlfriend." Carmine said, wrapping an arm around Caroline. "But that's not why we're here."

"How long have you two known each other?" asked Jocasta.

"Not that long," said Carmine.

"And we have a real problem." Caroline said.

"A love problem, you mean?" asked a Jedi named Depa Billaba.

"No! I wouldn't say that," said Carmine. "We're together. Isn't that enough?"

"It takes more than calling yourself a couple to truly have love." Master Mundi said.

"It's true," said a werewolf girl. "Love is something that has to be proven. Does Caroline know you love her?"

Caroline didn't say anything then for a moment. Now she and Carmine both started to see what Anakin might've meant about them moving too quickly. How were they supposed to know they truly loved each other and prove it to one another?

The Jedi and werewolves decided the prince and princess needed a little help.

Werewolf Girl:

How does she know you love her?

How does she know she's yours?

Then some of the Jedi started to join in. Especially those who had spouses themselves.

Mace:

How does she know that you love her?

Jocasta:

How do you show her you love her?

Another Jedi:

How does she know that you really, really, truly love her?

Others joining in:

Depa:

It's not enough to take the one you love for granted

The male Jedi started showing Carmine a few ways they said 'I love you' to their wives or girlfriends without using spoken words. Such as writing love notes.

The loving husbands all had such sweet things to say about their wives. Things like You're my everything. You are my queen. Or What did I do to deserve a goddess like you?

Some were just pure poetry.

Well, does he leave a little note to tell you

You are on his mind?

Carmine wrote a note for Caroline.

Roses are red, violets are blue, purple is wine, and beauty is Caroline.

Caroline couldn't help giggling when she saw what Carmine wrote.

Some of the Jedi husbands brought out beautiful flowers to present to their wives.

And then Carmine spotted a flower, which he started yanking from the ground

Send you yellow flowers when the sky is gray?

Carmine looked at Caroline and started to look into her eyes again.

Mace:

You got to show her you need her

Don't treat her like a mind reader

Padme recalled when she first met Anakin and how much she still loved him ever since they got married, their love growing. She knew she loved him, but it appeared Anakin needed help remembering their love.

Padme:

Everybody wants to live happily ever after

Everybody wants to know their true love is true

Depa:

How do you know he loves you? (Mace: How does she know that you love her?)

Carmine started to dance with Caroline, the two of them proving to be so effortless as a pair.

Ahsoka:

Well, does he take you out dancing

Carmine blushed at the thought of singing; he didn't tend to do it in front of anyone, and he was scared to do it now.

Jocasta:

He'll find his own way to tell you

With the little things he'll do

Carmine held Caroline closely again and started to lean in to kiss her again, only to get interrupted by Winter backing into him by accident.

Depa:

Carmine held Caroline in his arms, only to cry out in pain and collapse again.

"Carmine!" Caroline got down as Carmine breathed heavily again, his hair turning even more white. She gasped when she felt him. "He's as cold as ice."

It was then that Queen Ashina and Master Yoda came.

"Strange magic, there is," said Master Yoda.

"Master Yoda." Obi-Wan said.

"Come, come. Bring him here to us." Ashina said.

Obi-Wan helped Caroline bring Carmine over to the Jedi Grandmaster and the werewolf Queen for inspection.

"Carmine, in danger your life is." Yoda said. "In your heart, there is ice, put there by your twin."

"If it's not removed, you will freeze to solid ice, forever." Ashina said, making Carmine and his friends gasp.

"That can't be!" Carmine said fearfully.

"No!" Caroline had tears in her eyes now. "But, you can remove it, can't you? You're a Jedi."

Yoda sadly shook his head.

"Remove it, I cannot. I apologize."

"If it were his head," said Queen Ashina. "That would be easy, but the heart... only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart."

"An act of true love?" Carmine said.

"A true love's kiss, perhaps?" Master Billaba suggested.

Carmine started to collapse again, his hair turning even whiter.

"Carmine..." Caroline said. She looked at Carmine in her arms. "I won't let you freeze to death."

Caroline touched her forehead to Carmine's, and then her lips to his, which Carmine was happy to return. The prince and princess kissed and kissed for a few seconds. But... Carmine's hair didn't stop turning white.

"Nothing's happening!" Caroline gasped. "I don't understand. Why isn't it working?"

"Maybe you're not his true love." Ahsoka shrugged.

"No..." Carmine said. "That can't be it. Maybe it's- agh!"

Carmine winced.

"Carmine, we have to get help." Caroline said. "Kara! Maybe she'll know what to do!"

And so, the royals and Jedi got onto their horses and began rushing as fast as they could back to Coruscant.

"Let's go see Kara!" Winter shouted, letting Padme and Ahsoka onto her back while Carmine and Caroline rode Fiesta since her wings provided at least a little warmth.

The Jedi and werewolves weren't sure what they could do now, if anything. But Queen Ashina had a thought.

"Garrett, Dear?"

"Yes, Mother?"

"I think you should ask your wife if she may have answers."

Meanwhile, Countess Morpha, Lady Ventress, and some soldiers rode up the mountain on their horses, reaching the ice palace.

No one could believe their eyes when they looked up and saw the palace.

Morpha turned to the others and said, "We are here to find Prince Carmine. Be on guard, but no harm is to come to the crown prince. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Your Grace." one soldier said.

Morpha started to walk toward the icy staircase, Ventress following. However, they didn't get very far, because out from the snow, opened an icy blue eye! And that eye belonged to Icezilla the ice dragon!

Icezilla unleashed a mighty roar, prompting every soldier to get out their swords and spears. Icezila just grew sharp claws and spines made of ice and roared at them.

The soldiers threw their weapons at the giant ice lizard, only for the ice dragon to breathe a powerful storm of ice and snow like freezing cold fire, literally freezing many soldiers in their tracks.

Ventress and Morpha were knocked over, as were some others. But Ventress spotted someone closing the palace doors.

"The crown prince." she gasped.

Ventress grabbed a metal rod she brought for a weapon and managed to get past Icezilla, get up the stairs, and into the ice palace, where Anakin was running up the stairs.

"Stop! I order you to cease!" Ventress shouted.

But Anakin just continued to run away.

Ventress chased Anakin up to the highest floor. There, she ignited her weapon, which had a red blade on it.

"I have you now." Ventress charged and attempted to strike Anakin...

But Anakin crossed his arms over his face, and a big block of dry ice blocked the laser's blow and dissolved into a gas that made the room foggy.

Anakin made more dry ice appear as Ventress continued to try to strike him. But Ventress wasn't giving up. If it was a fight Ventress wanted... Anakin grabbed a piece of dry ice and turned it into a weapon with an icy blue blade of light, which he used to engage in an epic sword battle with Ventress.

Ventress fought as hard as she could, but Anakin was stronger, and it became increasingly difficult when a bunch of briars came down and wrapped themselves around her legs, holding her in place and making her drop her weapon,

Outside, Morpha pulled out something she hoped she wouldn't have to use. Out from a pouch, she pulled out small red balls, some of which she threw at Icezilla's feet, making him lose one of his snow legs, and throwing him off balance.

Icezilla let out a roar in pain and anger as he started to fall of the edge of the cliff. He failed to grab the staircase in time, his icy claws nearly sending Morpha over the edge of the staircase too.

"Grab her arm!" one soldier exclaimed.

And the countess was lifted up to safety.

Anakin made even more dry ice and more plants appear as he imprisoned Ventress and made more shards of ice.

It was then that Morpha and the soldiers made their way into the palace and found Anakin trapping Ventress, who was struggling to escape the sharp briars, only for the vines to tighten their grip and more prickers and thorns and shards of ice to grow.

"Prince Anakin!" Morpha exclaimed. "Don't be the monster they fear you are."

Anakin looked at the soldiers and at what he was doing. He breathed heavily, which softened his grip on the briars, which gave Ventress a moment to call her weapon back to her hand. But as she prepared to throw it at Anakin and finish him off, Morpha stopped her, making Ventress hit the wall instead, and fling the weapon into the ice chandelier above Anakin!

Anakin quickly ran as fast as he could to get out of the room, the chandelier shattering upon impact, and a strong wind threw Anakin from his feet. And then, everything went black.

Anakin groaned as he started opening his eyes.

"Ugh... where am I?"

Anakin's vision slowly got clearer, and he spotted a window. He started to move toward it, only to find something yanking at his hands. Anakin looked at his hands to see they were both wrapped in some kind of containment chains.

Anakin managed to see out the window, and he gasped at the sight of the entire kingdom covered in ice, snow, and briars.

"Oh no... What... what have I done?"

The door unlocked, and in came Morpha.

"Why did you bring me here?" Anakin asked angrily.

"I couldn't just let them kill you." Morpha said.

"But I'm a danger to Coruscant. Get Kara... or Carmine."

"Carmine has not returned. And I'm afraid your sister... is no more."

Anakin gasped. Morpha told Anakin that Kara had gone out despite insistence that she rest and recover from her injury, but she was found dead.

Anakin collapsed to his knees and started to cry. This was exactly the kind of thing he was afraid of.

"If you would just stop the winter..." said Morpha. "Bring back summer, please."

"Don't you see? I can't." Anakin cried. "You have to tell them to let me go."

"I will do what I can." Morpha said.

And then, Morpha left.

But just after Morpha left, Anakin looked at his chains and saw them turning to ice too. This gave him an idea.

Everyone rushed as quickly as they could on their horses to get to Coruscant and get help for Carmine.

Caroline felt Carmine getting colder by the minute. She placed her beanie onto Carmine's head to warm him up. It seemed to help a little bit.

"Come on, Fiesta! Faster!" Caroline said.

"How's Carmine holding out?" Obi-Wan asked.

"He's still cold." Caroline said.

Eventually, the group came up to the castle.

"It's Prince Carmine!" shouted a guard.

The doors were opened as the group arrived.

"Carmine!" Ms. Susy exclaimed. "Oh, you had us worried sick."

"He needs warmth immediately." Caroline said.

"We need to see Queen Kara as well." Obi-Wan said.

"Queen Kara hasn't been seen." said one of the guards.

"What do you mean she hasn't been seen?" Padme said.

According to the guards, Countess Morpha said that the queen snuck out of the castle and left Countess Morpha in charge while she went to look for her brother herself.

"I'm going back out to look for Prince Carmine," said Morpha.

"You cannot risk going out there again," said one of the soldiers.

"If anything happens to him," said Morpha.

"If anything happens to the prince, you are all Coruscant has left." said another guard.

Just then, Carmine was carried in by Obi-Wan and Ms. Susy.

"In here, Carmine. By the fire." Obi-Wan said.

"Prince Carmine," said Morpha. She touched Carmine's shoulder. "You're so cold. What happened?"

"Anakin struck me with his powers," said Carmine.

"You said he would never hurt you."

"I was wrong." Carmine started to collapse again.

"Carmine!" Caroline held Carmine. "He needs help now."

"I hoped it wouldn't come to this..." Morpha said. "But, I believe it's time I shared that I know a thing or two about sorcery."

"You do?" Caroline said.
"Indeed. All of you, vamoose. I must be alone with Carmine in order to perform my spell."

Carmine was laid down onto a chair by the fireplace.

"Anakin froze my heart, and only an act of true love can save me. Caroline and I kissed, but that didn't work."

"Then perhaps one of my spells will." Morpha said.

Morpha took out a bag she had in her cloak and began mixing various ingredients into a little bowl which she heated onto the fireplace. Her hands sparkled as she said an incantation over the bowl.

Adpreceptum meum, remaneant papiliones mei omni serenitatis et voluntati mee conforme

And the potion turned from white to red.

Carmine thought Morpha was going to give him the potion to drink, but she didn't.

"Oh, Carmine. If only there was someone out there who loved you." Morpha smirked.

"What?" Carmine said in shock. "But Caroline loves me. So does Ms. Susy. And Obi-Wan, and Padme."

Morpha stood at the window and closed the curtain.

"I was the firstborn in my kingdom, but my father made the foolish decision of choosing my youngest sister as heir. However, he hid her from me and demoted my other sister and I from Princess and forbid either of us from ascending. Therefore, I knew I would have to marry into the throne somewhere."

"What... what are you talking about?"

Morpha put out a candle's flame.

"As heir after your sister, Anakin was preferable, of course. Unfortunately, getting rid of his wife would've been too difficult. I wouldn't have been able to get anywhere with him. But then, you chose another woman because you were so desperate for love. I almost had you willing to marry me just like that. But then that little swan swooped in and began ruining my plans. I figured once I married you, I would have to stage a little accident for Anakin, just like I staged one for your sister."

Carmine gasped.

"You monster!" Carmine tried to get up, only to collapse as Morpha poured water over the fireplace, putting out the flames.

"Relax, she's not really dead. Not yet." Morpha said. "I still have some use for her. Your twin, on the other hand, already doomed himself. And you were dumb enough to go after him."

"Please. Don't do this."

"All that's left now is to kill Anakin, and bring back summer."

"You're no match for Anakin. And Kara will find a way to stop you."

Morpha held Carmine's chin and laughed at him.

"She won't dare try to escape. Not with your life on the line. And no one will come searching for you after I'm through."

"You won't be able to defeat Anakin."

"No. You were no match for Anakin, because you are also the only family member with no magic of your own. I, on the other, hand, am the hero who is going to save Coruscant from destruction, and steal Princess Caroline's man."

Morpha took the potion she made.

"I only needed one final ingredient to be able to use my own power once this potion was complete. Your brother came through."

That final ingredient was a bit of Anakin's magic, and by pulling a white hair from Carmine's head, she had it. She drank the potion and started to leave the room.

"You won't get away with this!" Carmine said.

"Oh... I already have."

And Morpha locked the door.

Carmine desperately made his way to the door and tried to call for help, but no one could hear him.

Carmine began shivering even more. He was getting colder by the second.

"No, no, no!"

Carmine could barely move. He started to cry.

Meanwhile, things were not much better for Carmine's friends, as all of them were escorted downstairs by the royal guards, all of whom had big gray-blue butterfly-shaped markings over their eyes.

"Let us go!" Padme said.

"Get your hands off me!" Caroline said.

And everyone was placed into a cell, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka being placed into special cuffs designed to incapacitate Jedi.

"You don't know what you're doing!" Padme said.

"I know perfectly what I am doing." Morpha smirked. "Sorry it had to be this way, everyone, but I couldn't have you ruining my plans. All that's left is to kill Anakin to bring back summer."

"Killing him won't stop the winter!" said another voice. One that belonged to Kara. "You have to stop this right now, Morpha!"

Morpha just laughed and said, "Admirable of you to try and save your brothers, but they doomed themselves. And Caroline...Carmine says it's not you, it's him. He's to be my husband now."

That really ticked off Caroline.

"Leave him alone!" Caroline said.

"No wonder he left you," said Morpha. "Such a drama queen."

"You don't love him."

"As if that's anything to do with marriage."

Morpha left the prisoners behind, the group immediately trying everything they could to break the bars down or pick the lock.

"Don't wear yourselves out, everyone." Kara said. "Those locks are very tough to pick."

"Why is she doing this?" Caroline said.

Kara explained to the others that she'd tried to find any which way to stop the winter if for any reason Anakin couldn't, only to learn in her research about the magic that existed in Posada Llave, but then she learned who Countess Morpha really was. She learned that she and her sister Mariana were both demoted from Princess to Countess and forbidden from ascending to the throne after they'd attempted to overthrow other kingdoms and performed illegal acts of sorcery. Kara tried to confront Morpha herself, but she captured Kara and locked her in the dungeon.

"She said she needed to concoct a certain potion before her ultimate plan could commence. But I don't know how to stop her."

"What about Carmine?" Caroline said.

Caroline started to cry too. Her boyfriend was up there trapped, if not already frozen and dead. What could she do?

Carmine sobbed as he feared this was the end. He had no magic of his own and he had no way of escaping this cold, dark room. All he could do now was sit and wait for death to take him.

"I'm sorry, Anakin. I'm sorry, Kara... I tried. And I failed." Carmine sniffed. "If Mom and Dad could see us now..."

Tears spilled from Carmine's eyes. And then he thought of a song his parents used to sing whenever he cried.

Carmine:

Come stop your crying it'll be alright

Just take my hand, hold it tight

I will protect you from all around you

I will be here don't you cry

For one so small, you seem so strong

My arms will hold you keep you safe and warm

This bond between us, oh, it can't be broken
