Yoda's Vision

Meanwhile, at the Jade Temple...

Not much had changed in terms of traditions for the Jedi, and many of the masters seemed to like it that way, including one Jedi Master Mace Windu.

Master Windu was very strict about following traditions, and a real stickler for rules. If you were a rebel in the Jade Temple, you might call him a real stick in the mud, a sourpuss, someone who was a little too serious. But, he was an influential member of the Jedi High Council. Impress him, and you were very likely to move on to the next level of training and graduate with high honors. Thus, every student he oversaw fought to bypass their natural limits just to get him to look at them. The Furious Five were no exception.

Being a stickler for rules, Mace did not complain when he was betrothed and wed to socialite heiress Brenda Monroe. He didn't show it, but he didn't find a lot to complain about when it came to his wife; she was as beautiful as she was fierce. And eventually, as was intended for all Jedi and their betrothed spouses, Mace and Brenda had a child.

For the first time ever, this was a Furious Five that consisted of mainly female members. And in this group, the members were as follows: Bo-Katan Kryze, Padme Naberrie and her new betrothed Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, and Mariposa Morphina.

Master Windu sat in a cross-legged position surrounded by some lovely birch trees, playing a soothing melody on a bamboo flute, when he sensed some oncoming threats in the form of none other than his students.

Mariposa jumped in and attempted to jump her teacher, only for him to block her attack. The same occurred when Obi-Wan swiftly punced from the trees and ducked every blow and punch Mace threw. And then came Ahsoka with two bamboo swords, which Mace blocked attacks from with his bamboo flute. Even when Padme and Bo-Katan, the two most powerful females, came together, Mace managed to block their attacks until everyone got into a resting stance and bowed before their teacher.

"Excellent job, students..." Mace said with a slight smile, which quickly turned to a scowl. "If you were aiming to disappoint me!"

In case you hadn't guessed, Mace chose a "tough love" method of teaching, and that was being kind.

"Obi-Wan, more force in your kicks! Padme, more velocity. Bo-Katan, greater speed speed. Ahsoka, subtlety. And Mariposa, I sense you've been spending more time goofing off than training. All of you, train harder, better, more. Obi-Wan, Padme, considering your upcoming nuptials, you will need to up your skills quickly to ensure you can teach what heirs you produce."

"Yes, Master Windu." said the betrothed couple.

Though they were good at hiding it, these two were not happy that they were being forced to wed. Now, they did like each other, but not like that. Sadly, they didn't have a say in their marriage. Unless they found someone else of great power and/or influence to wed, there was no way they could persuade the High Council to call off their wedding.

"Master Windu," said a new voice.

"What?!" Mace exclaimed, startling the owner of the voice, who turned out to be none other than the Jedi's new messenger and Master Mundi's adopted daughter Comedia.

The young alicorn jumped. Being an equine, she was a bit jumpier, and hadn't yet received the full extent of training since she began a little later. Since Master Mundi lost all his biological children in a battle, the only way he could have an heir was through adoption, which was unusual in this order.

"Master Yoda wants to see you."

Mace suddenly felt concerned.
------------------------------------------------

Master Windu rushed to the Grand Temple, the biggest part of the entire palace structure. In this part of the palace was where all the grand, greatest masters lived and trained their prize pupils.

Mace bowed as he came to a tall pole on which stood a little green man.

"Master Yoda. You summoned me? Is something wrong?" Mace asked as calmly as he could.

Yoda slowly lowered his staff on which he stood and held it in his hand with a chuckle.

"Why something wrong, must there be, to see my old friend? Hmm?" Yoda said.

"So... nothing's wrong?" Mace said, sounding hopeful, yet worried at the same time.

"Say that, I did not."

Yoda blew out one of many candles that was lit. Then he blew out another, and then another, and then three more one at a time. But, even some of the most patient Jedi had their limits where patience was concerned. So, knowing this would probably take hours with the number of candles lit and the rate at which Yoda was blowing out the candles (it was a good thing they didn't light the same number of candles as his age for his birthdays, or they'd be waiting forever to cut the birthday cake, assuming it didn't set the whole valley on fire), Mace gave one swift movement that blew out all the candles.

"You were saying?" said Mace.

"A vision, I have had." Yoda said. "Mariverde will return."

Suddenly, Mace had horrible visions of a green hooded figure with powerful forces, one that destroyed anyone and anything that got in her way.

"That is impossible!" Mace said. "She is in prison!"

"Impossible, nothing is." Yoda said.

"Comedia!" Mace exclaimed.

"Yes, Master Windu?" Comedia said, running in.

"Fly to Citadel prison, tell them to quadruple the guards, quadruple the weapons, quadruple everything! Mariverde does not leave that prison!"

"Yes, Master Windu!" Comedia immediately spread her wings and began to fly, passing by a couple of younger students outside. "Hey Petro, let my dad know I'll be home late!"

All was silent for Masters Windu and Yoda at that moment.

"Often, his destiny one meets on the road to avoid he takes." Yoda said.

"We have to do something," said Mace. "We can't just let her march on the valley, take her revenge, and endanger our children! She'll-"

"Your mind," interrupted Yoda, approaching a small pool of water. "Like this water, it is. When agitated, difficult to see it becomes."

Sure enough, the water was shaky, thus making any reflection hard to see... until Master Yoda gently tapped it with the end of his staff.

"But when settle you allow it... clear the answer becomes."

And in the reflective pool, there was a statue on the ceiling of two dragons, one white, the other black, each carrying a scroll of its counterpart's color in its mouth.

"The Yin-Yang Dragon Scrolls." Mace gasped.

It was long foretold that two brave warriors would rise to fight against the greatest threat to the very people the Jedi swore to protect and keep the peace for. Though attachments were forbidden in their midst, even they knew it took two to create balance.

In the old legend, it went something like this.

A warrior of dark, another of light

One to make fire, another the cold

A fist of iron, and a gentle hand

Together a scale to victorious fight

And peaceful balance throughout the land

But no two members of the High Council, the Furious Five, or even among any students over the centuries earned the honor of even touching these sacred scrolls. Until now.

"It is time." Yoda declared.

"But who?" Mace said. "Who is worthy to be trusted with the secret to limitless power? To become the Gemini Dragon Warriors?"

"I don't know."

Mace's eyes went wide. Yoda, the wisest of all the Grand Masters, didn't know who was worthy of the scrolls? That didn't sound good. Mariverde could escape at any moment, and there were so many Jedi who could possibly be the Gemini Dragon Warriors, it could take months to search through all of them. Months they may not have. They needed to find the worthy fighters, and they needed to find them quickly! And then, Mace had an idea.

"If you do not know who yet is worthy," said Mace. "Then an ultimate test shall be in order for our finest warriors."
