Princess Satine

The next day, Gabby, her siblings, and a couple of friends of theirs ran out so Gabby could practice using the bow and arrow Kenobi Hood gifted her.

"Thee Kenobi Hood gave that to your little sister?" Petro asked Boba.

"It's true." Boba nodded. "That's his own hat she's wearing too."

"I wish I could shoot a bow and arrow too." said Ganodi.

"Let me try!" Lamenta said, wanting a turn.

"I'm going first, cous." Gabby said.

"I think you're pointing it a little too high, Gabs." Carousella said.

"I am not! Watch this!"

And Gabby shot her arrow into the air. Just like Carousella said, she'd aimed too high. Way too high! The arrow soared through the air and landed in... the castle yard?!

"Uh oh!" Boba said. "Now you've done it."

"Right in Prince Almec's backyard." gasped Lamenta.

But, Gabby wasn't afraid.

The little girl ran towards a locked gate that led to where the arrow should have landed.

"Gabby! You can't go in there!" Lamenta said.

"Yeah, Prince Almec will chop your head off!" Petro said, making a slashing motion across his throat. "Like that."

"Why don't we just have Carousella fly over and get it?" Ganodi said.

"No, we can't do that!" Gabby said. "If someone sees her, they may repossess her like they did Petro's pony!"

That stung Petro greatly.

"Don't talk about... Dance Step!" Petro started crying at the mention of his beloved horse Dance Step, who'd been repossessed a month ago when his parents couldn't pay their taxes.

"I'm gonna get my arrow myself." Gabby said.

The slits on the gate were just big enough for Gabby to squeeze through.

Gabby crawled through some of the bushes as quietly as she could so she could search for her arrow, when she heard the sound of two women having a good time.

"It's your turn to serve, Satine." said one woman.

"Are you ready, Bo?" asked the other, apparently Satine.

Gabby took a peek and saw two women on what looked like a tennis court. One had short straight reddish hair, and the other had longer, bleach blonde hair. Gabby knew just who these two were.

They were King Atif's daughters, Princess Bo-Katan, the younger sister, and Princess Satine, the eldest and rightful heir to the throne.

"I'm waiting!" Bo-Katan said, laughing with her sister.

"Here it comes!" Satine called.

Gabby watched for a moment as Satine served the shuttlecock, and she spotted her lost arrow by a tree!

All she had to do now was get it.

As the two princesses played, Gabby snuck over to the arrow, and she was just about to grab it, when the princesses' shuttlecock landed right next to it, and Princess Satine came and caught the child in the act.

"Oh! Well, hello." Satine smiled. "Where did you come from?"

Gabby gasped and became worried.

"Oh, please don't tell Prince Almec!" she begged. "Mommy and Daddy said he'll chop off my head or take away my pony."

It turned out Gabby had nothing to worry about. Satine wasn't angry at all; she actually found the girl quite adorable, as a matter of fact.

"Oh, don't be afraid, you've done nothing wrong." said Satine.

"Well," said Bo-Katan, approaching the scene. "What do we have here? A cute little girl."

Satine noticed the hat Gabby was wearing and was reminded of someone special.

"Does this little archer remind you of someone, Bo?"

Bo-Katan looked at the child again and saw the hat, the bow and arrow, and pictured someone older and male.

"I know. The notorious Kenobi Hood." said the redhead.

"That's right." Satine nodded. "Only Kenobi Hood wears a hat like that."

"Yeah and look at this neat bow." Gabby smiled, not feeling afraid anymore as she twanged the bow's string.

Suddenly, Lamenta sneezed. And one of the princesses noticed.

"Oh, Satine..." Bo sang. "Don't look around, but I think we're surrounded."

Satine looked at the gate and saw the other children there.

"It's alright, children." said Satine. "Don't be afraid. Please come here."

"Do you think it's safe?" asked Ganodi.

"That's Princess Satine," said Lamenta.

"Grandpa says she's real nice." Boba said. "Come on."

So, the kids squeezed through the gate.

"Looks like Carousella was right about Gabby shooting too high." said Petro as he and the other kids approached the princesses.

"I'm so very glad she did." said Satine. "Now I get to meet all of you."

Lamenta curtsied in the princesses' presence.

"You're so pretty, Your Majesty." Lamenta said. "Are you gonna marry Kenobi Hood? My Uncle Anakin said you and Kenobi Hood are sweethearts."

Satine blushed and said, "Well... um, you see, that was several years ago before I left for Coruscant."

"Did he ever kiss you?" Ganodi asked.

The boys just gagged at the thought of all this girly mush, as they would call it.

Satine chuckled and said, "Well... no. But he carved our initials on this tree."

And she showed the children a tree with O.K + S.K. in a big heart shape carved into the tree Gabby retrieved her arrow in front of.

"I remember it so well." Satine sighed dreamily.

"Are you gonna have kids?" Gabby asked. "We got a lot of kids in our house, if you count the horses."

"Oh, he's probably forgotten all about me."

"Oh, not Kenobi Hood." Gabby said, picking up a stick and holding it like a sword. "I bet he'll storm the castle gates on a steed, fight the guards, rescue you, and drag you of to Starwood Forest."

"Now, just a moment there, little lady." said Bo. "You've forgotten Prince Almec."

"That old Prince Almec doesn't scare me." Gabby said, trying to sound tough.

"I'm scared of Prince Almec." said Lamenta, hiding her face behind an old plush lamb. "He's mean and cranky."

Bo-Katan then got playful and started imitating her uncle, holding her tennis racket like a sword.

"I, Prince Almec, challenge you to a duel." Bo mocked her uncle. "Hey! Hey!"

And the younger princess got into a playful sword fight with Gabby and her branch until the little girl started chasing her around and she fell down.

"Beg to mercy, Prince Almec!" Gabby said, pointing her fake sword.

"I will never give in to you!" Bo teased.

Gabby then pulled out one of Carousella's feathers and started tickling.

"No, no! Stop that!" Bo laughed, unable to take the tickle torture the little girl added. "That's not fair!"

Satine and the other kids laughed as well.

"One day, I'm gonna be a hero and save my future prince from danger." Gabby said.

"Isn't it the prince's job to save a lady in peril?" Petro pointed out.

"Girls can be heroes too." Gabby crossed her arms. "They can take guys down too. Like this!"

Gabby tackled her brother and knocked him to the grass. Before Boba knew it, he was being chased around by his sister and his cousin was chasing Petro around. Ganodi joined in too. And the girls showed no mercy when they tickle tortured them either.

Satine found it all so amusing as the children were at play. Unlike her uncle, she knew the value of the innocence these children held, and knew they were the future of their very kingdom.

Sometime later, Satine was gazing outside her bedroom window, daydreaming about what it would be like to be in Kenobi's arms again.

How amazing she dreamed it would be to see him, to feel his embrace, to kiss him.

Bo-Katan sat in a chair and smiled as she watched her sister dancing as she daydreamed.

"Ah, love. A precious thing." said Bo.

"Oh, sister." Satine sighed. "Surely Obi-Wan must know how much I still love him."

"I'm sure he does. Believe me, someday soon, Father and I will both have an outlaw for an in-law."

The girls both laughed.

"Oh, Bo. But when? When?" Satine giggled.

"Patience, big sister." Bo said. "Remember what Father said. Absence makes the heart grow fonder."

"Or forgetful." said Satine, her smile disappearing. "I've been away so long. What if he's forgotten all about me?"
