Ray of Hope

Prachi bustled around the bar's dimly illuminated backstage, racing to get ready for her show. Her hands trembled a little as she fiddled with the guitar strap, butterflies in her stomach indicating nervousness.

"Prachi, aap agale hain(you're up next)," the stage manager called out, poking his head through the curtain. "Aap taiyaar hain(You ready)?"

Prachi nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "H-haan, bas mujhe ek minute deejie(Y-yes, just give me a minute.)"

She inhaled deeply and looked at herself in the small mirror that was nestled in the room's corner. With a mixture of nervousness and excitement sparkling in her eyes, her reflection peered back at her.

Murmuring under her breath, "You've got this, Prachi," she told herself. "Theek vaise hi jaise Papa ji hamesha kahate hain, khud par vishwas karo, aur duniya tum par vishwas karegi(Just like Dad always says, 'Believe in yourself, and the world will believe in you.)"

Prachi nodded strongly, straightening her shoulders as she walked onto the stage, the warm glow of the spotlight enveloping her. As she took her seat in the middle, the audience fell silent in anticipation, their eager eyes locked on her.

"Good evening, everyone," Prachi greeted them, her voice clear and steady despite the butterflies still fluttering in her stomach. "Thank you for joining me tonight. I hope you enjoy the show."

Meanwhile outside the bar's parking lot:

The fight between Ranbir and Akshay broke out in a hail of blows and yelling, with the noises resonating in the empty alleyway behind the bar. With his hands sealed, Ranbir sprang at Akshay, his face twisted with anger.

"Tumhe lagata hai ki tum mere saath khilavaad kar sakte ho aur bach sakte ho(You think you can mess with me and get away with it?)" With a furious growl, Ranbir threatened Akshay's jaw with a blow.

With a sly smile, Akshay dodged the hit, raising his own fists in preparation for a battle. "Come on, RK,kya sachmuch aapke paas bas itna hi hai? Main mahaan Ranbir Kohli se aur adhik ki umeed kar raha tha(is that really all you have? I was hoping for more from the legendary Ranbir Kohli.)"

The mention of his stage persona only made Ranbir more enraged, as he clamped his teeth. "Akshay, tum mere baare mein kuch nahi jaante. Tumhe meri kshamataon ke baare mein pata nahi hai(you don't know anything about me. You're not aware of my capabilities.)"

With a growl, Ranbir threw himself at Akshay again, sending their bodies crashing into one other's bodies in an explosion of punches and kicks. With a terrible thud, each blow caused shockwaves of pain to ripple through their bodies.

Ranbir's mind was filled with wrath as the struggle went on, driven by the need to impart to Akshay a lesson he would never forget. But a voice whispered to him from deep within, beneath the layer of wrath, telling him to stop before things got too serious.

But, immersed in the heat of the moment and with his fists flying freely in an attempt to finally defeat his rival, Ranbir ignored the voice. It was only when he felt a sharp pain in his side that he realized Akshay had landed a blow of his own, sending him stumbling backward.

Gasping for air and feeling physically exhausted, Ranbir struggled to stand up, his heart pounding as he flashed Akshay a plain glare of hatred. "Akshay, yah khatm nahi hua hai. Main yah sunishchit karoonga ki aap phir kabhi mujhse milna na chahe(this isn't finished. I'll make sure you never want to cross me again.)"

Ranbir gave Akshay a last fierce glance before turning around and walking off, leaving Akshay standing in the alley with an arrogant grin on his face as he watched his rival disappear into the night.

With his head still dizzy after his encounter with Akshay, Ranbir walked into the bar and looked about, trying to find some small comfort in the midst of the chaos. The odor of cigarettes and alcohol filled the air, and the faint sounds of music wafting from the stage blended with the murmur of discussion.

And then, amidst the sea of faces, he saw her.

He was captivated by Prachi's effortless beauty and simple yet elegant demeanor as she stood on the platform, glowing softly from the spotlight. Her attire was modest, consisting of a flowing churidar in soft colors that highlighted her inherent beauty without drawing unnecessary attention. Her soft light-filled halo was framed by her hair, which flowed in delicate waves about her shoulders.

Attracted by the innocence and purity that appeared to radiate from her every pore, Ranbir was struggling to take his eyes away from her. Her allure to him was almost magnetic; there was something about her that was both unexplainable and irresistible.

(Yeh Haseen Waadiyan-Roja): one of my evergreen favs

Yeh haseen waadiyaan, yeh khula aasmaan

Aa gaye hum kahaan, aye mere saajana

In bahaaron mein dil ki kali khil gayi

Mujhko tum jo mile har khushi mil gayi

Tere honthon pe hain husn ki bijliyaan

Tere gaalon pe hain zulf ki badliyaan

Tere daaman ki khushbu se mehke chaman

Sangmarmar ke jaisa yeh tera badan

Mere jaane-jaan, main teri chandni

Chhed do tum aaj koi pyaar ki ragini

These beautiful valleys, this open sky

Where have we come, oh my beloved!

The buds of my heart have blossomed in this spring

Now that I got you, I found every happiness

There are sparks of sensuality on your lips

There are clouds of your tresses on your cheeks

The meadows smell of the fragrance of your veil

Your body is beautiful like one made of marble

My beloved, I am your moonlight

Come, strum a tune of love today

These beautiful valleys, this open sky

Where have we come, oh my beloved!

Following Ranbir's attention, Aryan, who had been watching him, noticed Prachi on stage. He seemed surprised and curious at the intensity of Ranbir's gaze, raising an eyebrow.

"Vah kaun hai(Who's she?)" Aryan asked, his voice barely audible over the din of the bar.

Ranbir remained silent, his gaze fixed on Prachi as she started to sing, her hauntingly beautiful voice filling the room. Her performance had a rawness and vulnerability that moved him deeply and awakened long-suppressed feelings in his heart.

Ranbir felt a shock of electricity race through him as Prachi met his gaze, setting off an uproar of emotions he couldn't even begin to understand. Ranbir was hopelessly pulled to her in a way he had never known before because of the depth in her eyes and the reservoir of strength and resilience that belied her delicate appearance.

"Tum use aise kyun dekh rahe ho(Why are you looking at her like that?)" Aryan prodded, his curiosity growing by the second.

Ranbir jerked his eyes away from Prachi, a million conflicting ideas and feelings racing through his head. Speaking barely above a whisper, "Mujhe nahi pata(I don't know)," he mumbled. "Uske baare mein bas kuch hai(There's just something about her.)"

Raising an eyebrow in astonishment, Aryan was about to say anything when Prachi's voice filled the room again, enticing both men back into the spell her music had cast. Ranbir couldn't get rid of the impression that this chance meeting was only the start of something extraordinary as he listened to her sing.

Ranbir felt an energy surge of adrenaline shoot through his veins as the final s of Prachi's song faded away. It was either now or never. He moved across the crowded bar with a determined gait, his gaze fixed on Prachi as though pulled by some unknown force.

Oblivious of his arrival, Prachi was occupied gathering her thoughts after her performance, her heart still pounding from the wave of emotions that had swept over her throughout her performance. She inhaled deeply, bracing herself for the expected storm of thoughtful remarks and criticism from the crowd.

She was unprepared for the tall, brooding figure that appeared in front of her, throwing a shadow over her delicate figure.

"Hi," Ranbir began with an unexpectedly soft voice and a small smile. "I'm Ranbir."

His unexpected introduction caused Prachi to blink in amazement. She had somewhat expected that he would refer to himself as "RK," the popular singer whose name had been becoming increasingly popular lately. But here he was, a normal guy, truly smiling, standing in front of her.

"Hi, Ranbir," Prachi said, her guard still firmly up. She knew better than to blindly trust celebrities because she'd heard enough stories about their antics.

Upon hearing her reply, Ranbir grinned broadly and his eyes sparkled with amusement. "Aapane vahaan jo performance kiya vah kaafi acha tha(That was quite a performance you put on over there)," he said, gesturing to the platform where she had just finished. "Aapke paas pipon ka kaafi set hai(You've got quite a set of pipes on you.)"

His casual tone made Prachi snap back into her defensive shell, her shoulders squared firmly. "I guess thank you," she shot back, giving him a cautious look. "Lekin agar tum sirf meri chaploosi karne ki koshish kar rahe ho to apni saansein bacha kar rakho. Maine yah sab pehle bhi suna hai(But save your breath if all you're doing is trying to flatter me. I've heard it all before.)"

Surprised by her sudden rage, Ranbir raised an eyebrow. It was obvious that he had underestimated her because he had thought she would be a little more receptive to his compliments. He was attracted and intimidated by the outstanding drive and fire that burned within her.

Ranbir honestly replied, "Main yahaan aapa ki chaplusi karne ke liye nahi hoon(I'm not here to flatter you)," his voice a little gentler. "Main bas aapako yah bataana chahta tha ki aap ka performance adbhut tha. Itna hi(I just wanted to let you know that your performance was wonderful. That's it.)"

Prachi gave him a skeptical look, her initial anger starting to subside at his surprising sincerity. Maybe just maybe, he wasn't the other guys she'd met before.

"Well, thanks, I guess," she muttered, her cheeks flushing slightly with embarrassment. "Sorry nishkarsh par pahuchane ke liye(for jumping to conclusions.)"

Her apologies made Ranbir laugh softly, and he gave her another smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. He answered, "Koi nuksan nahi kiya(No harm done)," keeping his eyes on her for a little longer than was necessary. "By the way, aapaka naam kya hai(what's your name?)"

Once more, Prachi stared in disbelief not anticipating that he was going to ask such a straightforward yet personal question. "Prachi," she cautiously answered. "Prachi Mehra."

With a wider smile, Ranbir nodded. Warmly, "Nice to meet you, Prachi Mehra," he remarked. "Mujhe asha hai ki main jaldi hi aapko phir se gaate hue sununga(I hope to hear you sing again soon.)"

A girl from the crowd walked up to Ranbir as he was turning to leave, her eyes glimmering with anticipation. Her voice was eager and charming as she asked, "Excuse me, but would you like to dance?"

Before speaking to the girl, Ranbir paused for a second and gave Prachi another quick glance. In a nonchalant tone, he said, "Main RK nahi hoon(I'm not RK.)" "Bas Ranbir, aaj raat ek niyamit ladaka(Just Ranbir, a regular guy tonight.)"

The girl appeared momentarily perplexed, but her smile soon came back. "Vah theek hai. Mere saath dance karne ke liye aap ka RK hona zaroori nahi hai(That's alright. Dancing with me doesn't need you to be RK)," she replied, winking lightly. "You're still pretty attractive."

Prachi, who had been observing the conversation with increasing interest, suddenly became jealous. She made an effort to dismiss it by telling herself that she didn't really know Ranbir. However, she felt sick to her stomach at the thought of him dancing with another girl.

Prachi's demeanor somewhat changed, and Ranbir appeared to notice it. He smiled politely as he turned back to face the girl. "Main prastav ki sarahana karta hoon, lekin mujhe aaj raat jaana hoga(I appreciate the offer, but I'm going to have to pass tonight)," he responded. "Main bas yahaan aaram karne aaya hoon(I just came here to relax.)"

The girl gave a small pout but gave a sympathetic nod. "Khair, shayad kisi aur samay par(Well, perhaps at another time)," she replied, waving at him briefly before turning to leave.

Ranbir turned back to Prachi, who was now occupied with packing up her belongings in an attempt to hide her reaction. "Toh, Prachi(So, Prachi)," he said as he moved in her direction. "Kya aap dance karate hain(Do you dance?)"

(Author's Note: Abhi do minute pahale jab ladaki ne dance karane ke liye kaha to usane mana kar diya...lekin woh khud aaj hi mili is ladaki se dance karane ke liye kah raha hai! Prachi ko aashchary hua hoga. Shararti Bakalu(Just two minutes ago when the girl asked to dance he refused...but he himself is asking this girl he just met today to dance! Prachi must be surprised. Mischievous Baklu!)🤨 😲😜

Taken aback by the question, Prachi looked up at him. "Me? Dance?" she asked, trying not to seem surprised. "Not really my thing."

Raising his eyebrow, Ranbir was grinning tauntingly. "Oh, please, come on. Tumhe ek adbhut nartak hona chahiye. Aapke paas ek kalakar ki kripa hai(You must be an amazing dancer. You have a performer's grace.)"

Though Prachi rolled her eyes, a tiny smile pulled at her mouth's corners. "Thanks, but no thanks. I'm good right now."

With a shrug, Ranbir noticed her with amusement as he leaned against the bar. "Apane aap ko jo uchit lage. Lekin please mujhe bataye ki kya aapne kabhi apna man badalne ka faisla kiya hai(Suit yourself. But please let me know if you ever decide to change your mind.)"

Prachi had to laugh quietly at his insistence. With genuine fascination, she inquired, "Tumhe isamen itani dilchaspi kyun hai ki main nachoonga ya nahi(Why are you so interested in whether I dance or not?)"

She was taken aback by the sincere look Ranbir gave her as his gaze softened. "Kyonki mujhe lagata hai ki aap alag hain(Because I think you're different)," was his simple reply. "Aap un any ladkiyon se alag dikhati hain jo keval aarake par dhyan deti hain. Aap Ranbir ko dekhi(You stand out from the other girls who only pay attention to RK. You see Ranbir.)"

His words caused Prachi's cheeks to flush, and her heart skipped a beat. She diverted her gaze and focused on the work at hand. "Shayad main karta hoon(Perhaps I do)," she murmured. "Lekin iska matlab yah nahi hai ki main aapke saath nach karne ja raha hoon(But that doesn't mean I'm going to dance with you.)"

Ranbir chuckled, clearly enjoying the playful banter. "Fair enough," he said. "Lekin mujhe aasha hai ki aap kam se kam is par Koch vichar karenge(But I hope you'll at least give it some thought.)"

Prachi met his gaze with a quick glance up. For an instant, she noticed something in his eyes that caused her heart to race—something sincere and true that went beyond the rock star persona. "Perhaps," she sighed quietly. "Maybe I will."

Aryan, who had been observing the conversation from a distance, made the decision to intervene as Ranbir left. He smiled warmly at Prachi, wanting to take away every last bit of anxiety. "Hi there," he said, holding out his hand. "I'm Aryan,Ranbir ke sabase ache dost aur unofficial bodyguard(Ranbir's best friend and unofficial bodyguard.)"

Prachi looked up, startled for a minute by Aryan's unexpected arrival. Cautiously, she reached out and shook his hand. "Hi Aryan, aapase milkar acha laga. Mera naam Prachi hai(nice to meet you. My name is Prachi.)"

With a laugh, Aryan let go of her hand. "Maine tumhe vahaan gaate hue dekha. Aap Ki awaz avishwasaniye hai(I noticed you singing up there. Your voice is incredible.)"

Prachi looked down, a bashful smile playing on her lips as her cheeks reddened a little. "Main aabhaari hoon. Mool roop se, main ise apne Mummy aur Papa ka samarthan karne ke liye karta hoon(I'm grateful. Basically, I do it to support my parents.)"

With a nod, Aryan's demeanor grew serious. "Ranbir kaha ki aap aam bheed se alag dikhate hain. Main samajhta hoon ki woh aisa kyon sochte hai(said that you stand out from the typical crowd. I understand why he thinks that.)"

Prachi raised an eyebrow, curious about what he meant. "Alag kaise(Different how?)"

Leaning against the wall, Aryan looked in the direction that Ranbir had fled. "Ranbir unake bahut saare prashansak hain, khaasakar ladkiyan jo unhe keval rockstar aarake ke roop mein dekhti hain. Haalaanki, aap unhe asalee Ranbir manate hain. Vah durlabh hai(has a lot of fans, especially girls who only see him as RK, the rock star. However, you consider him as the real Ranbir. That's rare.)"

Prachi felt guilty, knowing that her first impression of Ranbir was shaped by his fame. She replied, "Mujhe lagta hai ki pehle to main nahi jaata tha ki woh kaun hai. Woh... saamaany lag raha tha(I guess at first I just didn't know who he was. He seemed... normal.)"

With a laugh, Aryan nodded. "Vah bilkul yahi chaahata hai. Sirf rockstar ke roop mein nahi, balki ek niyamit vyakti ke roop mein. Uske saamne chunautiyan hain, tumhe pata hai? Apane vastavik swaroop aur apane sarvajanik vyaktitva ko niyantran mein rakhna(That's exactly what he wants. Not just as the rock star, but as a regular guy. He's having challenges, you know? Keeping his true self and his public persona in control.)"

Prachi nodded, understanding a bit more about the man she had just met. "Us tarah ke dabav ke saath jeena kathin hoga(It must be hard, living with that kind of pressure.)"

"Yah hai(It is)," Aryan agreed. "Lekin usaka dil acha hai. Use bas apane aas-paas aise logon ki zaroorat hai jo use asali roop mein dekhe, sirf RK ko nahi(But he's got a good heart. He just needs people around him who see the real him, not just RK.)"

Prachi glanced in the direction Ranbir had gone, her mind racing with thoughts and emotions. "Mujhe lagta hai mujhe samajh mein aa gaya(I think I understand)," she said softly.

Aryan grinned, feeling that Prachi was starting to realize what was going on. "Theek hai. Yah dekhte hue ki use vaastav mein apne jeevan mein aap jaise kisi vyakti ki zaroorat hai(All right. Given that he truly needs someone like you in his life.)"

Prachi looked up at Aryan, her eyes filled with a mix of determination and uncertainty. "Main apani poori koshish karunga(I'll do my best)," she said.

Aryan nodded, his smile warm and encouraging. "Koi bhi itna hi maang sakata hai(That's all anyone can ask for.)"

The two stood there, the bustling atmosphere of the the bar still enveloping them, but Prachi's thoughts were fixed on the mysterious rock star she had just met. Although she was aware that getting to know the real Ranbir would be difficult, she was prepared to take the chance because she found something intriguing about him.

Ranbir reappeared at that moment, holding a bottle of water. He sensed the discussion that had been going on between Aryan and Prachi as he looked between them. His smirk was playful as he asked, "What did I miss?"

Aryan clapped a hand on Ranbir's shoulder. "Bas apna parichay theek se de raha hoon(Just introducing myself properly)," he said. "Prachi yahan bahut badhiya hai(here is pretty cool.)"

Ranbir looked at Prachi, his smile softening. "Haan, vah hai(Yeah, she is.)"

Feeling her cheeks heat up again, Prachi immediately changed the topic. "To, Ranbir, kya aap hamesha ladai ke baad bar mein ghus jaate hain(So, Ranbir, do you always storm into bars after a fight?)"

Ranbir laughed, shaking his head. "Humesha nahi. Bas khaas mauke par(Not always. Just on special occasions.)"

Aryan furrowed his brow. "Khaas mauke parse usaka tatparya hai ki jab bhi use kuch bhap udane ki aavashyakta ho(By special occasions, he means whenever he needs to blow off some steam.)"

Prachi grinned at their playful exchange. Even with the night's commotion, she found herself strangely at ease in their company. Perhaps, just possibly, this was the start of something intriguing and fascinating.

So Guys did you enjoy their first meeting? What was your favourite part of the chapter. Would Prachi be able to change Ranbir's heart? Continue Watching for more episodes or chapters to begin the adventure!!! Until then, take care!
