Mysterious
In a crowded restaurant, Ranbir and Aryan chat while sipping coffee. Unusually relaxed, Ranbir glances at a nearby couple who are laughing and smiling together while deep in thought. When Aryan notices Ranbir acting strangely, he decides to tease him a bit.
Aryan(grinning): Ranbir, kya ho raha hai? Aapke chehre par itni badi muskaan hona aur us jode ko ghoorana? Kya RK ko pyaar ho gaya hai(Ranbir, what's going on? Having such a big smile on your face and staring that couple? Has RK fallen in love?)
Ranbir(snapping out of his thoughts): Kya bakwaas kar raha hai, Aryan? Main aur pyar? Hahaha, impossible(What nonsense are you saying, Aryan? Me and Love? Hahaha, impossible.)
Aryan raises an eyebrow, sensing something different in Ranbir's tone.
Aryan: Acha, impossible? Lekin dekh raha hoon, tum unko kaafi ghoor rahe the. Kuch toh pak raha hai(Well, impossible? But I see, you were staring at them a lot. Something is cooking.)
Ranbir(annoyed, but playfully): Aryan, bas kar yaar. Sirf pyar ki baatein sun ke bhi mann bhar gaya hai mera(stop it man. My heart is full just by listening to the words of love.)
Aryan laughs, enjoying his friend's discomfort.
Aryan: Oh really? Waise, woh ladki Prachi bhi aaj kal tumhare dimaag mein kuch zyada hi jagah bana rahi hai na(By the way, that girl Prachi is also occupying a lot of space in your mind these days, isn't it?)
Ranbir's expression hardens slightly, trying to hide his feelings.
Ranbir: Prachi? Woh sirf ek singer hai jisse humne kuch din pehle bar mein dekha tha. Uske baare mein itna sochne ki zarurat nahi hai(She's just a singer whom we saw in the bar a few days ago. There is no need to think so much about it.)
Aryan leans in, his teasing tone turning serious for a moment.
Aryan: Ranbir, main tumhe bachpan se jaanta hoon. Tumhare chehre pe likha hai ki kuch toh hai. Us din mandir mein tum dono ka woh diya bachana... kaafi intense moment tha, bhai(I know you since childhood. It is written on your face that something is going on. That day in the temple, the way you both saved the diya... was a very intense moment, brother.)
Ranbir's eyes flash with a mix of frustration and confusion.
Ranbir: Aryan, woh sab kuch nahi tha. Bas ek moment tha, aur kuch nahi(All that was nothing. It was just a moment, nothing more.)
Aryan shakes his head, smiling knowingly.
Aryan: Jo bhi hai, Ranbir. Lekin yaad rakhna, sachai se kab tak bhaagoge? Kabhi na kabhi toh samna karna hi padega(Whatever, Ranbir. But remember, for how long will you run away from the truth? Sometime or the other we will have to face it.)
Ranbir sighs, clearly irritated but unable to shake off the thoughts of Prachi from his mind.
Ranbir: Chal, ab bas kar. Mujhe yeh romance aur pyar ki bakwaas sunne ka mann nahi hai(Come on, stop now. I don't feel like listening to this romance and love nonsense)
Aryan chuckles, backing off but still wearing a smug grin.
Aryan: Theek hai, theek hai. Lekin ek din tumhe yeh accept karna padega ki tum bhi insaan ho, RK. Aur insaan ko kabhi kabhi pyaar ho jata hai(Ok, ok. But one day you will have to accept that you are also a human being, RK. And sometimes a person falls in love.)
Ranbir rolls his eyes, taking a sip of his coffee and trying to ignore Aryan's words. But deep down, he knows there's some truth to what Aryan is saying, and the thought of Prachi lingers in his mind.
On her walk home from yet another exhausting workday, Prachi was lost in thought as the sun sank below the horizon, soaking the busy streets of Mumbai in a warm golden glow. Her thoughts strayed to the strange encounters she'd had with Ranbir, the mysterious stranger whose captivating presence and fascinating aura had drawn her in.
Prachi, lost in her thoughts, turned a corner and almost ran into a familiar figure standing in her path. She was taken aback when she looked up and saw Ranbir standing in front of her, a playful smile tugging at the edges of his lips.
"Sorry, aapako chaunka dene ka irada nahi tha(didn't mean to startle you)," he said, his voice smooth and charming as he stepped aside to let her pass.
The sight of him made Prachi's heart skip a beat, and she found herself struggling to speak as her breath caught in her throat. "It's...it's okay," she stammered, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "Main yah nahi dekh raha tha ki main kahan ja raha hoon(I wasn't watching where I was going.)"
With a slight chuckle Ranbir stepped in beside her, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Loi nuksan nahi kiya(No harm done)," he replied in a kind and polite tone. "To tum kaise ho(So, how have you been?)"
Prachi glanced up at him and shrugged, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Oh,aapako pata hai( you know)," she sighed, a hint of uncertainty in her voice. "Just the norm. Parivaar, kaam aur dinacharya(Family, work, and the routine.)"
Ranbir gave a nod, his eyes remaining on her for longer than was actually necessary. "Lagata to romanchak hai(Sounds exciting)," he remarked, his tone teasing. "Are, main sach much umeed kar raha tha ki hame kabhi-kabhi coffee milegi. Aap kya kehte hain(Hey, I really was hoping we could get coffee sometime. What do you say?)"
Prachi's heart raced at the suggestion, her mind whirling with all the possibilities that lay ahead. "Um, sure," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'd like that."
Prachi couldn't help but feel nervous as she sipped her warm cup of coffee as they sat across from each other in the small but special corner of the popular cafe. Her eyes lingered on Ranbir's attractive features as she gazed up, searching for a way to break the awkward quiet between them.
"To, umm, aap apne free time mein kya karna pasand karate hain(So, um, what do you like to do in your free time?)" she asked, her voice slightly hesitant.
With a contemplative look on his face, Ranbir reclined in his chair and thought about her question. "Haan, main thoda movies ka shaukeen hoon(Yeah, I'm a little bit of a movie buff)," he said with a lighthearted smile. "Mujhe har tarah ki philmen dekhna pasand hai, khaasakar Bollywood movies(I love watching all kinds of films, especially Bollywood movies.)"
Prachi, whose personal movie choices tend to be more classics and romantic comedies, widened her eyes in amazement at his confession. "Sach mein(Oh, really?)" she asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice. "Main kabhi bhi andaaja nahi laga sakta tha. Kaun see Bollywood movie aap ki pasandeeda hai(I never would have guessed. Which Bollywood movie is your favorite?)"
With a smile on his face, Ranbir talked enthusiastically about his favorite movies and actors, his eyes beaming with passion. With pleasure in his voice, he remarked, "Oh,isamen se chunane ke liye kai hain(there are so many to choose from.)" "Lekin agar mujhe keval ek ko chunana ho, to Vivaah nishchit roop se ek classic hai. Main khud ko ashcharya chakit paata hoon ki koi kaise itane gahan prem ka anubhav kar sakta hai. Visheshakar, vah drshy jahaan Prem dvara Poonam ko uske vaastavik roop mein sveekaar kar liya jaata hai. Amrita Rao aur Shahid Kapoor ek saath behad khoobsurat lagate hain. Aur jahan tak abhineta ka sawaal hai, Shahrukh Khan ek mahaan abhineta hain(But if I had to choose only one, 'Vivaah' is definitely a classic. I find myself wondering how someone could experience such intense love. Especially, the scene where Poonam is accepted for who she is by Prem. Together, Amrita Rao and Shahid Kapoor are really beautiful. And as for actors, Shah Rukh Khan is an absolute legend.)"
Prachi listened carefully as Ranbir talked about his love of Bollywood movies, and the sincere zeal in his voice warmed her heart. She couldn't resist being pulled to his contagious energy and boundless enthusiasm for life, even though their preferences weren't the same. But she too loved Vivaah and their jodi in the movie.
"Aur aap ka kya haal hai(And what about you?)" Ranbir asked, turning the conversation back to her. "Aap apne free time mein kya karna pasand karate hain(What do you enjoy doing in your free time?)"
For a brief time, Prachi's thoughts raced, trying to come up with anything interesting to say. "Khair, mujhe...mujhe padhna pasand hai(Well, I...I like to read)," she said, sounding a little shy. "Aur mujhe apane parivaar ke saath rahana acha lagata hai. Hamaare beech ghanishtha sambandh hai(And I enjoy being with my family. We have a close bond.)"
Ranbir smiled warmly at her response, his eyes softening with affection. "Vah sachmuch bahut pyara hai(That's really sweet)," he said, his voice filled with admiration. "Family is important."
Ranbir shifted slightly in his seat and asked the question that had been bothering him since they first met. He looked for any hint of hesitancy on Prachi's face.
"Tumne kabhi kisi se pyaar kiya hai(Have you ever loved someone?)" he asked, his voice soft yet filled with a hint of anticipation.
Prachi's face wavered for an instant, a brief trace of sorrow passing over her features, and then she nodded slowly. "Haan(Yes)," she said in a voice that was barely above a whisper. "Mannine kiya hai(I have.)"
Her reply made Ranbir's heart sink, and he tried to hide the feelings that were racing through him as a wave of disappointment washed over him. "Oh," he replied in a cautiously neutral tone. "To, umm, kya aapka...kya aap ka koi boyfriend hai(So, um, do you...do you have a boyfriend?)"
Author's Note: Attention dosto! Have you ever wondered why Baklu is so curious about Prachi's boyfriend? We're also thinking about it, and we want to hear your thoughts! Our Baklu, who is filled with filmy dialogues, might be influenced by a blockbuster movie from the 90s or 2000s! 🤣
Maybe he's been inspired by watching movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Dil To Pagal Hai, and now he's taking an interest in Prachi's matters of the heart. But will he also go away from his brother like in 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham'? 😎
Does Baklu know something that we don't? Is he hiding something for Prachi like in 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'? Or is this just a friend's concern, like Amitabh Bachchan had for Dharmendra in 'Sholay'! Come on, we're ready to hear your thoughts! Comment and tell us what you think is in Baklu's heart!😆
With her eyes downcast, Prachi shook her head and twisted the spoon in her coffee cup. She replied, her voice a little sorrowful in response. "Nahi(No)," she said. "Tha, lekin ab nahi(I used to, but not anymore.)"
At her comments, Ranbir had a wave of relief, an inkling of hope rising inside him as he leaned forward, curious to find out more about this woman. "Kya hua(What happened?)" he said, his tone mild but brimming with interest. "Yadi aapko bura na lage to mere poochhane par(If you don't mind me asking.)"
Prachi inhaled deeply, bracing herself for the painful recollections of her past love. She gave Ranbir a quick look, her eyes full of emotion, then returned her attention to her coffee cup, her fingers making patterns in the ceramic surface.
"Yah kuch saal pahale ki baat hai(It was a few years ago)," she said in a quiet but melancholic voice. "Atharv aur jab ham pahali baar college mein mile to maine turant click kiya. Yah aisa tha jaise hum ek saath rahane ke liye hi bane the(Atharv and I clicked right away when we first met in college. It was like we were meant to be together.)"
With his eyes fixed on her face, Ranbir listened carefully, hanging on to every word, curious to know the extent of her suffering.
"Hum avibhaajy the(We were inseparable)," Prachi said, her lips quivering in a bittersweet smile. "Hamari sabhi aashayein, chintaen aur sapne hamare dwara saajha kie gae the. Tumhe pata hai, mujhe lag raha tha ki vah vahi tha. Jisake saath mujhe apne baaki din gujaarane ki niyati thi(All of our hopes, concerns, and dreams were shared by us. You know, I had the feeling that he was the one. The one I was destined to live out the rest of my days with.)"
Her voice took on a note of nostalgia as she spoke about the times they had spent together, the tears and laughter that had bonded them.
"But then..." Prachi's expression darkened with grief as her voice faded. "Lekin phir cheejen badalane lageen. Vah door ho gaya, peechhe hat gaya. Jis aadami se mujhe pyaar hua tha, vah ab usamen maujood nahi tha(But then things began to change. He became distant, withdrawn. The man I fell in love with no longer existed in him.)"
Ranbir reached out, his hand finding hers as he squeezed it gently, offering her a silent gesture of comfort and support.
Prachi said, "Maine pakadne ki koshish ki(I tried to hold on)," her voice trembling with sorrow. "Maine cheejon ko vyavasthit karane ki koshish ki, lekin... lekin aisa lag raha tha jaise vah mujhse door ja raha tha, chaahe maine use pakadane ki kitni bhi koshish ki ho(I tried to make things work, but... but it was like he was slipping away from me, no matter how hard I tried to hold on.)"
Tears welled up in her eyes as she spoke, memories of heartache and betrayal flooding her mind.
"Aur phir ek din, vah bas... vah chala gaya(And then one day, he just... he just walked away)," Prachi muttered, her voice just above a whisper. "Bina alavida kahe ya ek shabd bhi kahe. Usane mujhe chod diya, mujhe lakhon tukdon mein tod diya(Without saying goodbye or even a word. He abandoned me, shattered me into a million pieces.)"
Her words made Ranbir's heart hurt, and he felt a wave of rage come over him at the idea of someone hurting Prachi in such a way.
It's possible that our Baklu is overly protective of Prachi, that concealed with his heroic persona as a rock star. Does he see Prachi as his Anjali (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) a, and doesn't want any Aman to take her away?
And our Chikchiki, who wins everyone's heart with her simplicity and innocence, is she special to Baklu? Is Baklu's anger proof of his hidden feelings, just like Raj showed for Simran in 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'?
Does Baklu feel that hurting Prachi is like hurting his own heart? Just like Salman Khan showed for his Radhe in 'Tere Naam', is Baklu equally possessive about Prachi?
He replied, "I'm so sorry, Prachi," in an understanding tone. "Kisi ko bhi aisi sthiti se nahi gujarana chaahiye(No one should have to go through something like that.)"
Prachi offered him a faint smile, her eyes shining with unshed tears as she squeezed his hand in return. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice filled with gratitude. "Thank you sunane ke liye, mere liye yahan rehne ke liye(for listening, for being here for me.)"
Reluctantly, Ranbir withdrew his hand from Prachi's, focusing his gaze on her for a little time before eventually tearing himself away.
"Mujhe vaastav mein jaana chaahiye(I should really get going)," he murmured, regretting his words. "Aryan shaayad soch raha hoga ki main kahaan hoon(Aryan's probably wondering where I am.)"
Prachi nodded, a small smile playing on her lips as she watched him rise from his seat. "Yeah, of course," she replied, her tone warm and understanding. "Duty calls, right?"
With a lovely grin and mischievous sparkle in his eyes, Ranbir gave her a look. He laughed, "Always," sounding light-hearted despite the underlying reluctance. "Lekin yaad rakhen, yah antim adhyay nahi hai, theek hai? Main aap se jaldi baat karoonga(But remember, this isn't the final chapter, alright? I'll talk to you soon.)"
Prachi returned his smile, her heart fluttering at his words. "Yeah, definitely," she agreed, her voice soft yet filled with warmth. "Take care, Ranbir."
With one last lingering look, Ranbir turned and made his way towards the door, his mind filled with thoughts of Prachi and the undeniable pull she had on his heart. As he reached the threshold, he couldn't resist one final glance back at her, his lips curving into a playful smirk.
"Oh, and Prachi?" he called out, his voice carrying across the room to where she sat.
Prachi looked up, her eyes meeting his with a curious expression. "Haan(Yes?)" she responded, a hint of anticipation in her voice.
Ranbir winked at her, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes as he spoke. "Don't miss me too much, okay?" he teased, his grin widening as he saw the blush that crept onto her cheeks.
Prachi rolled her eyes playfully, a laugh bubbling up from deep within her chest. "I'll try my best," she replied, her voice filled with laughter and affection.
Later that night, Ranbir is sitting on his bed inside his apartment. Alone with his thoughts, still consumed by the events of the day and Aryan's taunting, he glances out the window. He can't help but think of Prachi, the way she gazed at him at the temple, and her innocent smile.
Ranbir(to himself): Prachi... yeh ladki mere dimaag se nikal kyun nahi rahi? Shayad Aryan sahi keh raha hai(Prachi... Why am I not getting this girl out of my mind? Maybe Aryan is right.)
After a deep breath, he resolves to discover what he is feeling exactly and the reason Prachi is affecting him so much. But he understands that, for the time being, he must prioritize his music and profession, even if it means temporarily putting these perplexing feelings aside.
