Typical Morning

I groaned, rolling over in bed, blinking my eyes blearily. My arm flung out in an attempt to pull myself closer to Jaz, eyes snapping open when I found the other side of the bed cold. "Jaz?" I whimpered out softly, sitting up. I stood up, rubbing my eyes and walking to the door of the bedroom. "Jaz?" I repeated, peering out into the hallway. I reached over to pull Jaz's hoodie off the door, fumbling when I realize it wasn't there. "Jaz?" I asked again, pulling a blanket off the bed and wrapping it around my slight frame. I walked out into the hall, walking downstairs. I rubbed my eyes again, stepping into the kitchen, where coffee was brewing and Jaz stood before the stove, humming to herself ass he flipped pancakes.

"Jaz?" I mumbled, pulling the blanket tighter around my body. She flinched, turning to look at me.

"Mernin', Adri," she said, her hair framing her face wildly yet perfectly. She smiled sleepily, stuffing her hands into her hoodie. "I'm makin' breakfast. Chocolate chip pancakes, like you like," she muttered, gesturing to the pan on the stove. "I was about to go wake you up." I smiled, poking her nose as I walked to pour a mug of coffee.

"You didn't have to, Jay. I coulda done without." I turned to face her, walking by as she frowned.

"You need to eat more, Love. You can't live off coffee and chips." She offered me a plate after I poured creamer into my mug. I looked up at her amber eyes, concern swirling in the irises. I took the plate, smiling up at her.

"Thanks, Jay." She smiled, swiping some of my hair behind my ear.

"Anything for you, Adri. Now let's eat, yeah?" She smiled, nuzzling my forehead. I smiled, giggling as I walked to the counter, sitting on the stool after setting my food and mug on the surface. Jaz shut off the stove, moving to sit next to me.
