Stalker?

Speckles finally stopped coughing and looked at Cora left his side and went to the river to get a drink. Speckles slowly got up and looked around. He then heard leaves rustling in the distance. Speckles stalker towards the sound and came up to a tree. All of a sudden, the head of a pterosaur picked out through the leaves with something in its beak. Speckles squinted at the creature and it flew down. The creature had a large sail on the top of its head. It was pretty big with a wing span at around 12 feet and was almost the size of Cora. The creature landed right in front of him.

"What are you?" asked Speckles in curiosity.

"Hello, I am a Tapejara named Jonas" he replied in a monotoned voice. Speckles then opened his mouth to say something but Jonas quickly interrupted, "No need to introduce yourself, I have been watching you for a while, Speckles."

"Uhhh, okay."

"Yes I have decided that now is the time to make myself known. Is there anyone else you are with besides Cora?"

"No."
"Alone I see.... if I am correct you feel love."
"I guess..."
"Not just any love, sexual love."
"Noooo..."
"For Cora."
"Ew no!"
"It's obvious Speckles. Just face it. After all my time watching you, I've seen that whenever you're near her you show signs of affection," the tapejara started, "For instance, your pupils dilate when you are listening to her and you often try to be as close as possible. You show this mostly when you are sleeping. You also-"
"Why are you stalking me!" Speckles said as he began walking backwards in fear.
"No need to be afraid Speckles. I was friends with your mother before you were even born and she told me to look after you guys when she and your father died. I have been keeping an eye on you ever since your family died. Though I did slack a little when you moved in with that pack. So it's fine you can tell me all the truths that I have not yet found out about."
"What..."
"Anyways what I'm saying is that... where was I?" Jonas questioned himself.

"Uhh, can I go now?" Speckles asked. The tapejara continued to mumble to himself before Speckles decided it would be best to leave. Speckles slowly walked away, back towards the river. When he was positive that he was out of the tapejara sight he started sprinting until he almost ran into Cora.

"What the heck is wrong with you?" Cora spat

"I suggest we leave." Speckles said, glancing around him.

"Why?"

"The dinosaurs that live here are creeps," Speckles said as he lead Cora out of the valley.

A few hours later, the two were in a different area. The sun started to set as mammals that lived in the area began scurrying towards their dens and burrows. Speckles stopped and looked up seeing trees towering over him, reaching the dimmed sky. One by one, stars started to peek out of hiding to show themselves. Cora walked over to one of the taller trees in the forest to find that it had been hollowed out by some creature. Cora crawled inside to find that even though it was spacious, it was still small enough to be cozy.

"Speckles! I found a place to sleep!" Cora barked.

"Where?" Speckles responded as he walked towards her.

"In here!" Cora said as she pointed towards the tree. Speckles looked inside which gave Cora the window of opportunity. She took that opportunity and kicked him in causing him to face plant inside. However, before he could react, she crawled inside with him, and curled her tail around him.

"What did you do that for" Speckles asked, still on the floor of the tree.

"Do you expect me to be patient?"

"I guess not," Speckles said looking up at her with dilated eyes. Cora then whacked him on the head with her tail and then rested her head on the ground. She looked at him with a smirk in her eyes. She then closed her eyes and fell asleep. Speckles on the other hand, couldn't sleep. He only curled his tail around Cora protectively and kept his head up. He stared outside and watched as the sky dimmed to a dark blue. A few possum like creatures wandered about, carrying their children and hunting for insects and berries. Then, something flew right in front of the entryway. Speckles, as confused as he was, poked his head out and looked around. He couldn't find anything.

"Thought you could escape me huh?" a voice said.

"What?"

"Oh Speckles, don't play dumb," the voice replied. Then right in front of him, appeared the same tapejara that had introduced himself in the valley.

"What are you doing here!"

"Looking after you," the tapejara said with a grin, "You'll never get rid of me. Goodnight."
