Speckles crawled out of the river and onto the riverbank. He then shuck his body to rid himself of the water soaked into his feathers. He hated being wet. The water made his feathers stick to his skin, which made it feel tingly and itchy. Speckles rubbed his back against a nearby tree. He then heard someone giggling from the top of the tree. He looked around the tree but he couldn't see anyone through the leaves. Then a light brown-feathered tail popped out through the leaves and waved in the air. He squinted his eyes at it until he realized that it was Cora.
"Cora! What are you doing up there?" He barked.
"I landed up here! You should totally climb up here! The view's great!" Cora yelled back picking her head out and looking down at Speckles.
"But I can't climb! Are you crazy?"
"Well you don't have to unless you wanna get some of this!" Cora yelled gesturing towards herself.
"Why can't you just come down here?"
"Why can't you just come up here?"
"Oh my god I'm done with you!"
"But we were never in a relationship!"
"What do you mean?"
"You have to start something first before you become done with it! In addition, you never started. So you're not done with me!"
"Just come down here!"
"But it's better up here!"
"Without me it isn't!"
"Then get your butt up here!"
At that point, Speckles was too frustrated so he decided that he would rather fight with Cora at the top of a tree then lose his voice. He dug his claws into the bark and pushed the grown with his feet. He then moved his arm up to one of the branches and hauled himself to that branch.
Twenty minutes later, Speckles finally reached Cora to see the satisfied look on her face. She then pulled him up and he sat on the same branch she was on.
"See I knew you could do it!" Cora said as Speckles looked out into the distance. Speckles then turned his head towards Cora to see her staring into his eyes and Speckles looked directly back at hers. After a while Cora's eyes got watery and she blinked.
"I win," Speckles said with a wide grin on his face.
"Hey you never said that we were having a staring contest!"
"What then do you wanna murder me?"
"No! Why would I do that?"
"Hehe. Looks like I now have a secret admire."
"Shut up."
"You dirty little sl-"
Cora then swung her tail up and whacked him on the back of the head, causing him to fall off and land on the dirt below.
"That's what you get!" Cora smirked as she looked down at Speckles who was glaring at her from below. Then all of a sudden, something smashed into the tree and caused it to fall down. Cora jumped from the tree and started running. Speckles soon caught up to her running his fastest. A roar was heard from behind them causing the pair to look back. Behind them was a huge white spinosaurus with multiple deep wounds to his flank, legs, arms, and neck. His eyes were slashed out and dried blood was caked around his eyes and maw. Speckles's eyes widened in horror as he started running faster along with Cora. Trees were tumbling down, almost falling on them. The spinosaurus then bashed his head into one of the tallest trees and caused it to fall. The tree started to fall on Cora when Speckles ran into her and threw her out of the way. She slammed against a tree and the tree fell on Speckles. Cora opened her eyes to see the spinosaurus run past them and Speckles under the tree. She then quickly ran towards the tree fearing for the worst.
"Speckles no!" She cried as she reached the fallen tree. She nudged Speckles's head as millions upon millions of thoughts flooded into her mind. She tried to pull Speckles from underneath the tree but failed. She then tried pushing the tree with her head, which moved it ever so slightly. She then tried pulling Speckles from under the tree again. This time she succeeded and dragged his body to the riverbank. She then continuously splashed water on his face while yelling, "Wake up!"

Speckles woke up gasping for air and was being squeezed to death. He could barely move and his vision was blurry.

"Oh Speckles just say something! Please don't leave me!" Cora begged as she continued to squeeze him.
"I'm being murdered by a psycho," Speckles wheezed. Cora let go of him and Speckles started breathing heavily.
"Did you call me a psycho?" Cora asked.
"Yeah," Speckles coughed, "A hot one that is." Speckles gagged a few times before looking up at Cora, "What?"
"You called me a psycho," Cora said with a blank expression, "I have never heard words more true than that."
