Cora the Utahraptor
"My family, they died to a t-rex," Speckles said not wanting to go into detail.
"There was a stampede where my pack was. Because of it, I got lost," Cora said as she began to shed a few tears. It wasn't that much but you could still see them rushing down her face. Speckles didn't know what to do in this situation.
"I'll keep you company while you find your family," he said hoping it would comfort her
"Really!" She said, "Oh thank you so much!"
"Your welcome," he said unsure of what to do next.
A few days later, they had found a cave that they would stay in for another day and then they would leave it to go somewhere else. Speckles kept Cora company for she was very social, while Cora helped Speckles deal with the loss of his family. Without Cora, Speckles would always be thinking about his family and the horror he had seen. Without Speckles, Cora wouldn't be able to hunt and she would go mentally insane because she would have no one to talk to. That night after eating a few pterodactyl eggs, they went back to their cave to rest. Speckles sat down in a corner and to his surprise, Cora decided to lay right next to him. He was astonished as she slowly but surely fell asleep. He felt proud to be there for her. They were friends and they planned on keeping it that way. Then Speckles yawned and felt his eyelids getting heavier, and whenever he blinked it would take longer for them to come back up. Then he couldn't lift them back up. Then he fell asleep. This was the first night where he didn't have nightmares about his family's death or about the Tyrannosaurus. He felt safe and comfortable, he didn't care that he was friends with a utahraptor, at first he was weary of her though, same for her.
The next morning, Speckles woke up to stegosaurus meat. He then looked up and saw Cora standing there. She had hunted and killed a baby stegosaurus for him. How thoughtful.
"Is this for me?" Speckles asked sleepily.
"Of course it is," Cora said, "if it wasn't for you, I would've been eating already."
"Thank you," Speckles said.
"Alright then come on and eat before the flies get to it!" Cora said playfully.
"Okay, Okay. I'm coming," He said as he was getting up. Speckles got up and then started eating. Cora watched him for a second and then decided to eat it too. Once they were done, they decided it was time they move out of their home. As they walked out of the cave, they heard the sound of a large dinosaur walking, then it stopped. They then heard the sound of a hurt dinosaur, and then it stopped. This scared them. Speckles then lead Cora through the forest on a long journey.
They traveled for months stopping by caves, living in them for a day or two, and then continued. They once encountered a spinosaurus sleeping in a lake. Although it was peaceful, they made sure to avoid it. As time went by, Speckles thought less and less of his dead family. He missed them alot and he wished to plot revenge on it, but he and Cora were much to small and could get hurt or even die if they tried to kill it. They went in the same direction passing mountains, deserts, hills, forests, fields, and more.
One day they found a field of flowers. The flowers were blue and purple. Before Speckles new it, Cora ran and leaped into the field almost disappearing in the ocean of beauty. Cora then pulled Speckles in and they played and tackled each other. They leaped and frolecked in the field. It was wonderful. They felt so much happiness and joy. They were free of all the worries, and deaths and loss. Speckles forgot all about the pale eyed bodies of his siblings. He forgot about the menacing, one armed tyrannosaurus. The only thing he was thinking about at that moment was his new friend Cora and all the fun they had and are having.
