Anger
As you have noticed I have a new cover. YAAAAAAAAY! Cover was made by leaving_forever and she has worked hard on this. If you prefer the other one please tell me. By the way the only reason it has Rudy (the main antagonist in Ice Age) on the cover is because if you try looking up "white spinosaurus" or "albino spinosaurus" the results are terrible. Anyways please enjoy the story.
Speckles looked out into the distance, Cora sitting right next to him. A year and half has gone by and the pack has moved quite a bit. Cora's mother sat right next to her looking out into the distance. They now lived on a mountain top inside a huge cave. In one of the five chambers there are nests filled with eggs that the females had laid. Looking at the eggs has made Cora want her own hatchlings someday. However all the male Utahraptors her age pack are jerks and she doesn't understand why the other females still like them. Cora shook the thought from her head and got up and started walking towards the cave. She ruffled her feathers before sitting down in her chamber of the cave. In her chamber, other female Utahraptors sleep there with her and they keep her up at night with all their chatter. That's when she started to sneak into Speckles's chamber where he sleeps alone. After seeing what the males do on their spare time, Speckles avoided them for he wanted no part of what they did.
Speckles turned his head to where Cora went and got up too, leaving Cora's mother behind. She found her in the female chamber and decided he wouldn't want to get any attention from anyone else in there. Especially the older raptors. He walked to his tiny area and slumped down and rested his head on the stone floor. His tired amber eyes blinked every once and a while as he slowly fell asleep. He woke up an hour later to see Cora standing in front of him.
"Hey," she said.
"Oh uhh-hello," he stuttered as he pulled himself up.
"The word hello is not that hard to say Speckles," Cora said with a laugh, "Unless your into me,"
"I am not!" Speckles stated with a strong voice, "And please don't start this again."
"Last time you did," Cora recalled, "I specifically remember you saying the words 'You know you want me" Cora said.
"Alright maybe I did but I have matured since then," Speckles said, "Besides that was over a year ago,"
"Yeah right," Cora replied as she left him alone. She then walked over to the female chamber where as usual, all the females are gathered around chatting about random stuff that doesn't matter.
"Oh hey Cora," says one of them, "How 'bout you come sit with us."
"Yeah Cora," insists another.
"Alright, alright I will sit and join another one of your boring chats," Cora stated as she sat down. They all looked at her confused at why she said that their chats were boring, "Are we gonna start?"
"Yes and we were just talking about what would happen if we all went extinct," one said.
"Even though that will never happen," muffled a familiar Utahraptor around her age.
"Shira?" Cora asked.
"Yeah?" Shira asked in confusion.
"I-I thought you were dead," Cora said
"Everyone did, but they were wrong," Shira replied with a snort.
"Oh,"
"Anyways," one began, "My names Jacklyn, but you can call me Jacky."
"Okay Jacky, just why are we talking about our extinction," Cora asked confused, "That's not gonna happen right?"
"Of course we will go extinct someday but probably waaaaay after you die."
"Oh, I see." She said with relief. She didn't want to go now. She still had things to do.
"I know when we will go extinct!" Said an old Utahraptor.
"When?" All the Utahraptors asked crowding around the old one.
"In approximately, 3 million years and 47 days," the old one paused, "By a meteor."
A few gasps spread across the room as all the raptors looked at each other with surprise. Many looked frightened and some didn't care. They knew that they would die before then.
"H-how do you know?" Stuttered Jacky.
"I can smell it."
"That's just Bul-" a young raptor began.
"Hunter you know that there is absolutely no foul language allowed here," said the young female's mother as she scorned at her.
"B-but mother," Hunter argued.
"No buts, no cuts no coconuts!" Stated the mother as Hunter rolled her eyes.
"Well Ima go leave now," Cora said as she walked out of the chamber.
"There she goes again," Jacky says, "Off with her stupid boyfriend again. Females shouldn't be allowed to date at this young age."
Cora stops hearing the things that were said, "What boyfriend?"
"You know that other raptor," Jacky says, "What was his name, Spots? Dots? Dave?"
"He's only my friend you stupid lizards!" Cora yelled, getting Speckles attention as the others just stare at her in shock, "Speckles is only my friend,"
"Then why do you always sleep in his chamber?" One asked.
"Because your stupid chattering won't lemme sleep and Speckles family to me!" Cora growled, "I love him like he's my brother even though he's not! Without him I would still be lost and maybe even dead!" Cora's body was filled with rage and she wanted to slash out the eyes of each one in there. However, she felt someone pull her back this angered her and she struggled to break free until she realized that it was the very one she had been fighting for. She looked up and sighed with relief when she saw his lovely amber eyes. She relaxed and pulled herself up and saw the smile that was on his face.
"I heard everything," Speckles said with a smile.
"Well it's true, and you aren't just some stupid boyfriend," Cora stated, "I had to tell them off. They needed to know that they were wrong about everything!" She started growling.
"Don't worry. As long as you know it's not true then they can't get to you," Speckles stated kindly which made Cora smile.
