Judgement Day
Your POV:
The car ride home was in a disturbed silence. There was no sound from either you or Jasper, only the constant growl of the Mustang's engine as it sped along. You felt horrible, absolutely horrible, that Jasper was hurt because of you.
Stealing a couple glances back at her from time to time, you wondered if she was mad at you for asking her to go get your mother's basket. The stoic expression on her face almost confirmed those beliefs. The black muscle car rolled smoothly into the driveway and you pressed the button on your keys that opened the door. Jasper looked tense.
"Okay we are home." Jasper didn't say a word. She merely got out of the car the minute you unlocked the doors. "Jasper where are you-"
"Come in and find a place to hide." Jasper said with a hint of urgency. She left you standing in the garage in between your two cars, closing the door to the building. You cautiously stepped into your own home, wondering what in the world was happening outside. Clearly it wasn't anything of this world and judging by the way Jasper reacted, it wasn't something good. You just wished she'd tell you what was happening. She looked so tense you were afraid the gem would poof herself. When you walked into the living room, Jasper stood there looking at the grandfather clock with a hand on her chin.
"Jasper, you're hurt. Please let me help." You said gently and placed your hands on her back. Her bulging muscles quickly relaxed under your touch and you felt her let out a long breath. You slid your hands around to grasp her waist and pressed your face into her lower back, kissing her skin through her shirt.
"I am okay. I self-heal." The tall gem responded in a looser tone. She turned around so that you were facing her front now. "But you can't self heal." There it was. That was the reason she was so upset. You tilted your head upwards to look at her and gave the orange skinned gem a faint smile.
"Jasp, what's going on?" You tried to avoid the possibility of you dying for a minutes as you attempted to understand the bigger picture. "How did that happen to you?" You traced the now healing scars on her upper chest, just above her breasts.
"A ship from Homeworld has landed in Beach City. While I went back to get your mother's basket, I encountered a corrupted gem monster they were using as a tracker. When it got close enough to capture my identity, it said 'Subject Found: Notifying Yellow Diamond of Reported Sighting'. They are looking for me, the Diamonds." You felt your heart fall a thousand feet into the ground. Jasper couldn't leave. She just couldn't.
"S-so, you mean, they are t-trying to take y-you away?" Tears started to bubble in your eyes and Jasper pulled your head to her chest as you started to sob. She rubbed your (h/c) hair and held you fight against her.
"I'm not going with them. I can't go." Jasper sternly muttered, barely loud enough for you to hear.
"But don't you want t-to go? This is a w-way home for you. Y-you don't have to s-stay on Earth anymore." There was no controlling your cries as you thought about Jasper being taken away to some place in the galaxy. It wasn't even like she was going across the country. She was leaving the planet and the solar system all at once.

Jasper's POV:
"No I don't (y/n). It seems, Earth isn't so bad." (Y/n) stopped crying for a moment. Jasper knew why she couldn't leave. All of a sudden, she realized why Rose wanted to protect Earth in the first place. It was free and giving and there was love. Actual, selfless, meaningful love.
On Homeworld, love was nothing. Gems stopped mating for life thousands of years ago as the idea of it wasn't needed when the war started. Gems needed to be created fast, efficiently, and for a purpose. If Jasper didn't live in the moment so much, maybe she could see herself with (y/n) in the future.
(Y/n)'s face dropped a little. Jasper didn't know why, but had an idea it had something to do with what she had said.
The scars on her chest were almost gone, the only thing left being the remains of her torn shirt. Jasper knew she was the only one who could stop the assault on Beach City. The Crystal Gems couldn't, the currier ship was too highly equipped for even them. It was up to Jasper.
(Y/n) walked out of Jasper grasp to turn on the TV in the living room. The human switched to the news as Jasper walked in behind her. What was on the TV was utterly unfair. People were dying. The Crystal Gems were trying their damnest but to no avail. One of the news reporters was on screen broadcasting the invasion as more ships started to appear. Clearly the diamonds believed they would need an entire armada of war ships to capture Jasper. The gem watched as suddenly the news reporter was incinerated by a rogue laser. (Y/n) stared at the screen and rushed over to Jasper who glared at the TV in shock.
Jasper knew to save (y/n), to save her farm, to save everything she knew and came to love, she would have to sacrifice herself in some way to do it.
"(Y/n), I know what I have to do. They aren't going to stop. Yellow Diamond won't stop till she has me. But she never will." She pulled you closer into her chest and rubbed your (h/c) hair that was now all ruffled up and in knots. The gem could feel her tears through the rips in her shirt and for the first time in a very long time, Jasper felt she had someone to fight for.
"You always will have me." Jasper whispered as she slowly pulled (y/n)'s chin up for a kiss. That was when the explosion hit. (Y/n) fell limp to the ground from impact of the shock waves. Jasper glared up in fury, the house shook as she glared out the window and she could make out the shape of a massive Homeworld war ship landing in the center of the front yard. The ship was light yellow with an equally yellow diamond in the middle.
"Yellow Diamond!" Jasper shouted with rage. The gem looked to (y/n) whom was unconscious on the hardwood. She panicked, unsure of what to do. Jasper then scoped you up and laid you down on the couch. "I'll be back, my love. I promise." Jasper kissed her forehead and brushed some of the (h/c) strands that fell in her face. "I promise." She stormed out of the house.
The ship was enormous as it stood placid on the grass. It was one of the biggest Jasper had ever seen. With confidence, the gem strode right up to the mechanical weapon.
"I'm here! Whatever you want I'm here! Leave them all alone!" Jasper bellowed. The ship stayed silent for a few more moments before a part of it vanished and a black hole was left gaping from the side. Jasper scowled and waited.
To most's surprise, no one would've believed what happened next. From the depth of the ship's core out sashayed none other than the tall, slender form of Yellow Diamond herself. Jasper was stunned to say the least. The diamond never, ever made personal visits to other planets, preferring the role as slothful dictator much more than conquering conquistador. The cruel leader looked around at her surroundings and huffed.
"So this is Earth." She said the planet's name like it killed her kid. Then she noticed Jasper. "Ah, Jasper." She started, very relaxed and evenly toned. "It seems your exile has been revoked. Ready to join us again general?" Yellow Diamond wasn't giving Jasper a choice. Jasper knew it was go back with the diamond or risk being shattered.
Jasper felt eyes on her and she turned around to see (y/n) standing about 100 yards behind her, staring at her with dark eyes. Two large Agates were on either side of (y/n) and they flung her into the dirt, shoving the small human down. (Y/n) winced and cried out for them to leave her alone. She cried out for her parents. But the one she cried out the loudest for was Jasper. The orange gem whipped around to face Yellow Diamond.
"Let her go! She is irrelevant to the situation. You needn't hurt her." Jasper growled and Yellow Diamond only smirked and gave her ex general a knowing look.
"She means something to you? Jasper, I thought of you more highly than that. Than caring for a human." The diamond taunted with a fake disappointed mockery to her words. Jasper looked like a deer in headlights unable to respond. The gem knew if she admitted her emotions for (y/n), Yellow Diamond would use her as a way to get her back to Homeworld. But, if she didn't say anything, (y/n) may hate her forever. Pick your poison.
"She means nothing to me." Jasper whispered as her heart filled her mouth.
"Good, then we can dispose of her. Guards, get rid of it." Jasper's eyes widen and with a growl, the mighty gem sprinted her hardest in (y/n)'s direction, totally shocked at how Yellow Diamond had played her.
"No!" Jasper cried as the larger of the two Agates wielded an axe overhead. (Y/n), on her knees now, sat there staring at Jasper, tears flowing tirelessly down her cheeks in disbelief and betrayal. She bowed her head, not wanting to look at Jasper and accepting the inevitable fate she had unwillingly claimed. The large guard started the axe's decent towards the fragile skull of the human's head. Jasper was almost there. And she just barely made it.
When Jasper arrived, she dived, sliding on her in an attempt to save (y/n) as Yellow Diamond looked on from the base of the ship. Jasper's head ended up in (y/n)'s lap. She looked up at her, and man was she gorgeous. Bright (e/c) eyes, lovely (h/l) (h/c) hair, soft (s/c) skin, and a personality that Jasper had come to love. She never would leave
(y/n), never ever.
The axe split Jasper's gem in half. The ex-general felt the agonizing sting in her face and she knew she didn't have long before she would cease to exist. It was then Jasper heard the shouts of many others, and vaguely caught a glimpse of a black whip in her peripheral vision.
At least she saved you.

Your POV:
You couldn't describe the pain you felt in your chest. First Jasper said you meant nothing to her, and now here she is. Head in your lap, dying in front of you when it should be you who is on their slow decent into death. When Jasper had told Yellow Diamond that you meant nothing to her, in the moment, death was the only thing that sounded like a plausible solution to you. But now, here she lay, the alien you fell in love with.
And she was going to die.
"Jasper, Jasper, Jasper!" You hollered in between sobs. You were too engrossed in your heart ache to notice the Crystal Gems valiantly fighting for and your fallen love. "Stay with me baby please!" You ran your hand underneath her chin and laid to rest on her cheek. Her beautiful Jasper gem was split down the middle with some little shards sprinkled across her face. Jasper's eyes fluttered in and out of consciousness and it was almost as if you could see the light fading from her.
"I don't have much time." Jasper choked out in between coughs. She reached up to cup your cheek and you placed your hand on top of hers and squeezed it.
"You're going to be fine." You said fiercely. "You are going to be okay, Jasper! Why would you do that? You should've let me die!" Screaming now, it seems the two guards you had encountered before were now absent.
"Now that would've been stupid, wouldn't it have?" Even on her death bed, Jasper could crack a smile. A small, meek smile, but a smile. It was oddly disturbing to see this normally strong, confident, boisterous gem so weak and broken. It was like watching the agonizing death of a mighty lion.
"No Jasper! I mean nothing to this universe! I can't lose you!" The waterworks returned and tears streamed against your (s/c) cheeks. "Jasper please don't leave me."
"Nothing I can do now kid. You're on your own. Now you can get back to your normal life." Jasper stopped to cough and the light in her bright yellow eyes started to fade. "I will miss you. You meant more to me than you could ever imagine. You showed me how to love." Jasper smiled again. You wrapped your arms around her neck and entangled her white hair in your hands. Tears soaked her ripped shirt as you gripped the straps on the cloth. You straddled the gem with your forehead pressed against her chest as the pained expression on your face showed disaster as an emotion.
"God dammit!" You shouted into Jasper's orange skin. You felt her weakly place a hand on the back of your head. Looking up, you could see her smiling. You shifted up a little to look her in the eyes. "Jasper....I love you." The tears stopped and anger replaced them in you, burning your heart from the inside out.
"I love you too, (y/n)." Jasper struggled to say it, but managed just barely to proclaim her love for you. She held you tight against her, one hand in your hair and one on the small of your back. You briefly remembered when she first kissed you in the barn. Who knew those would be the last words she ever said.
Or so was thought.
You sat there in silence. Nothing around you was audible. Not the fighting, not the bombs or blasts. Nothing. Jasper felt cold and you knew she would poof at any moment, except this time she would never come back. Water lines stained your eyes and you clenched them tight, so tight your skin was turning white.
"(Y/n)"
"(Y/n)"
"(Y/N)!"
You looked up to see a small boy. He was blurry through the water glazed over your (e/c) eyes, but you thought you could make out a pink shirt and black curly hair. And he was touching your shoulder. Why wouldn't he stop?
"Stop touching me!" You blurred out very forcefully. Everything fell silent and you cuddled back into Jasper's cold chest.
She was dead. Jasper was dead.
"Please, you must get off of her-" The boy was cut off.
"No! I'm never leaving her! I told her I would never leave her!" Your cries started all over again and you knew they wouldn't stop for a long time. You couldn't believe she was gone. It was surreal to you, like you'd open your eyes and Jasper would be standing there naked again.
"We can help her." The boy said and placed a hand on your shoulder. Your head whipped around.
"What?"
The boy was not alone. The first to join them was a tall, dark skinned woman with an afro and shades covering her eyes. Just as she showed a skinny, angular lady with light pink hair appeared next to the tall one. From behind her, a short, lavender girl with long white hair- similar to Jasper's- showed up, accompanied by a giant pink lion with a heart shaped nose. Ah the Crystal Gems.
"What do you mean you can help her?" Acid oozed from your voice and the boy, whom you now recognized was Steven Universe gulped nervously. Steven looked toward the tallest woman, Garnet, and she nodded her head at him. With confidence he looked back at you.
"I can save her. If you just let me get there I can save her before she's gone completely!" Steven started meek but ended with a shout. You knew if there was any chance Jasper could be saved, it would be because of him. You didn't outwardly acknowledge his proposal. No, you only slunk out of his way and flopped to the ground on the left of Jasper's body, turning your head left so you wouldn't have to see her. You noticed the barn, which was thankfully still stood. All of them were and you were grateful for that. You were sure your horses had shit themselves multiple times in the past hour and half but you knew they'd be fine.
The situation dropped on you like a ton of bricks all of sudden. You would have to go by your daily life again. Without Jasper. You would have to take care of Diamond. Without Jasper. You would have to live. Without Jasper. You would have to love. Without Jasper.
Suddenly you felt a hand grip your arm. Stunned, you shot up from laying down and looked quickly to your right and saw Steven who was backing away towards the Crystal Gems. You cocked an eyebrow and wondered what had happened. Had you been hallucinating?
"(Y/n)...." You heard someone groan. In that moment, you have never been happier in your entire life. Sparkling yellow eyes fluttered open and Jasper's chest heaved upward as she took in a massive gulp of air, one that she didn't need, but one that she took anyway.
"Jasper! Oh my god Jasper! My Jasper!" You launched yourself from beside the gem to on top of her again. The biggest, brightest smile stretched from ear to ear across your face and you couldn't believe what was happening. Throwing your arms around the gem's strong neck, you started to cry again, but this time it was happy tears.
"That would be me." Jasper replied, just as cocky as you left her 7 minutes ago.
"I thought I'd never see you again!" You half scolded. "Thank you so much." You looked toward Steven. The boy blushed and gave you a tiny nod. Jasper's gem was perfect, no trace of scratches, nothing. It looked as if it had never been in multiple pieces on moment before. "Shit on a stick Jasper I thought you were dead! I wasn't done mourning you!" It was okay to joke now since Jasper wasn't actually dead. No harm done when you're really not dead yet, right?
The ex- general attempted to stand after laying on her back. You scrambled to your feet and held out an arm for her to grab. Unsurprisingly, you weren't strong enough to hoist the heavily muscled gem to her feet. Garnet came to your aid and the two of you put Jasper back in an upright position. You gave the other tall gem a grateful "thank you" and proceeded to admire your darling Jasper. She looked so rugged and beautiful and you couldn't help but feel attracted to her in this moment. She swept the dust from her pants and shirt and glanced up to see to see you staring at her.
"What?" She said plainly.
"Oh I don't know, you just came back from the dead and I was looking at you because I can't believe this is happening. The usual." Sarcasm glazed over your tone and the pair couldn't help but smile at each other. You had your Jasper and you wanted nothing more.
You got closer and closer to Jasper and finally you came to rest your arms on her chest and she pulled you in by the small of your back. Jasper grabbed your buttocks and hoisted you up and wrapped your legs around her waist. The gem planted a smoldering kiss on your lips and in a frenzy of lust and loss you held on to Jasper like you could lose her at any moment. And Jasper, who was easily dominating the situation, only gripped you tighter, fearing if she let go, the world would end.
Gathered around the pair was the Crystal Gems. Garnet looked on, thinking about what a wonderful fusion you and Jasper would make. Pearl watched in happiness and jealousy allay once, wishing she could have had the same love with Rose. Amethyst, with her dirty mind, was seeing the chemistry oozing from you both and thinking about if you guys had fucked or not. And then there was Steven who gazed at you and Jasper lovingly, eternally thankful for his healing spit that seemed to be a cure all.
You had your hands in Jasper's white hair, just as you did when she was lying in your arms as the both of you confessed your love. The kiss was so rapid and frantic yet managed to be so passionate and sweet. It was like watching magic unfold into reality and the warm embrace you shared with Jasper felt like the furnace in which life was made.
When your moment had ended you looked very deeply into Jasper's sun colored eyes. Her eye lashes were so long and thick and you couldn't help but admire them. Jasper then put her head next to your ear to give your neck a kiss and you giggled. You truly had won yourself the catch of a lifetime.
"I love you (y/n)." The gem suddenly whispered in your ear. You bobbed your head back to see her entire face, her features as flawless and as gorgeous as they always had been.
"I love you too, my Jasper." The smile on your face couldn't contain itself anymore and joy beamed from your face.
It was silent and the silence suddenly sparked your interest. You looked around and the ships were gone and your yard was torn apart. You'd definetly need a landscaper.
"What happened?" You asked the Crystal Gems who looked as if they were about to go grab some popcorn and watch you and Jasper like a movie. Garnet was the one to answer.
"You don't worry about that. Just know they won't be bothering us for a long time. Now guys I think we should go. (Y/n) and Jasper need some alone time." Garnet winked at you and gathered her group of warriors to turn around and leave. Steven gave you a smile and a wave as he walked with his family away from the scene, leaving you and Jasper still standing in your front yard. She had let you down and you looked at her with a new found appreciation.
"Come on Jasp, let's go home." Jasper glanced over at you and gave you a massive smile. She took your hand and you both walked into the house.
