Chapter Thirteen, Confrontations
Chapter Thirteen, Confrontations
Previously on Jasper's Sunshine:
They will all deny later but they watched eagerly as Storm shot a mild bolt of electricity at Edward's arse with her gift making him yelp painfully, leaping from his chair causing everyone in the cafeteria to pause what they were doing to stare at him. It was silent for only a fleeting moment before Emmett's booming laughter filled the cafeteria, the only thing was his laughter was so infectious that the entire cafeteria was laughing at him. Edward scowled and glared at them muttering under his breath with his fists clenched as he stormed out of the cafeteria heading towards biology early.

~First Beach, La Push~
The second Imogen stepped on to First Beach in her wet suit, holding the board she shared with Leah, a wide smile lifted up her lips and lit up at her eyes as she could almost FEEL the tension fall off of her. She knew Jasper, Alice, Storm, Rosalie and Emmett would be speaking to Edward about what happened with Bella in biology as he had almost lost control of himself as she was his Blood Singer, but he didn't seem to care. They were also there to make sure that Esme and Carlisle didn't give in to Edward like they always did. They were hoping to talk sense into him but personally, Imogen didn't hold out much hope for that.
But she wasn't going to worry about her so-called sister or Edward. All she was going to worry about was beating Jared at surfing, having fun with her friends and painting the sunset over the sea with Paul later on. This was all she needed. Her friends here on the Rez were her balm, much like Jasper and the others were but as she had known everyone here and Ella since they were babies they had a deeper and more profound bond. Not that she didn't treasure her boyfriend and his siblings as her friends as she did, but these here were her soul-siblings; that's all there was to it.
"Ready?" Jared asked, a teasing smile on his lips.
"Ready!" Imogen agreed, giggling as she ran for the sea to the cheers of Ella, Jake, Leah, Seth and Paul cheered for her. They – minus Seth – were on her team while Sam, Embry and Quil were on Jared's team and were cheering for the wolf. It was the perfect end to a day that had started with such woe.

Chapter Thirteen, Confrontations
When Imogen returned home from the Rez that night fully relaxed, she wasn't expecting to be accosted the minute she walked in the door.
"Where the hell have you been?" Bella demanded, waking their Dad up who had fallen asleep in front of the TV waiting for his youngest to return home, not that Bella paid him any mind. Imogen looked from Bella's angry expression to her Dad who only looked relieved she was home but also frustrated with his oldest.
"At the Rez." Imogen replied simply. "Which you would know if you paid anything but yourself attention as I asked Dad this morning and you were there. Having a go at me then if I recall rightly." She added as she took off her coat, hanging it on the wall beside her.
"Well while you were swanning about doing who knows what and with who knows who I had to work AND do my own homework!" Bella shouted, proving Imogen's point correctly as what she had said had been completely disregarded as she was called a slut, yet again.
"That's what you're supposed to do." Imogen scoffed. "I work as well and nearly everyone at school has a job so you're not exactly the only one. And if you think I'm doing your homework for you, then think again!" with that she brushed past her older so-called sister approaching her Father who was smiling proudly at her. "Hi Daddy." Imogen smiled, kissing his cheek as she sat beside him.
"Hi Sunshine." Charlie greeted, wrapping his arm around her shoulder bestowing a kiss to her forehead. "Did you have fun? How was cheer practice?" Before Imogen could reply Bella came stomping over glaring at the pair.
"I wasn't done talking to you Isabelle! Mum said you have to do ALL of my homework as it will stop you being a slut!"
"It's the Imogen!" Imogen scoffed, annoyed but tears welled in her eyes at the complete lack of care directed at her from her sister to the degree that Bella didn't even know her name. Which was made worse by her next comment.
"No! Mum said it's Isabelle, you know, Isabella and Isabelle!" Bella announced slowly as if she thought Imogen was slow and stupid.
"No it's not." Charlie interfered sternly. "I named Imogen and your mother named you, Bella. Enough with calling your sister a slut!"
"Whatever." Bella scoffed uncaringly. "Here's my homework. I want it done by ten, so you only have an hour to complete it all, so get to it!" she added looking towards the clock on the wall beside Imogen's painting that read, nine pm.
"I'm not doing your homework Isabella. It was assigned to you which means YOU have to do it. I'm not going to get into trouble for you." Imogen argued, not backing down.
"Bella go to your room. That's now three weeks you're grounded for, and I will be speaking with your mother tomorrow regarding this!" with a screech and curses spewing out of her mouth Bella stomped all the way up to her room, slamming the door loudly behind her. Sighing Charlie dragged a tired hand down his face, slumping in his seat for a moment before he turned towards his youngest. "I'm sorry Sunshine, if I had known she would've been this bad I would have never agreed to her staying."
"It's okay Daddy." Imogen sighed, cuddling into her father as she knew he needed the comfort right now, the pair of them were quickly joined by Patch and Shadow for a cuddle session.
"So, how was practice? And did you have fun?" Charlie asked again, eager to find out how her day had been. "Who dropped you home today?"
"Sam. Emily sent over some cookies for you when you go to work tomorrow." Imogen smiled; she knew her father had such a sweet tooth, but she did make sure he ate healthily as well. He needed to if he wanted to do well at his job. "Practice was good. We're ready for the game on Friday and we heard back that the first trial for the cheer competition is in two weeks. My team beat Jared's when we were surfing. He tried to cheat and distract me, but it backfired on him."
Charlie joined in with his daughter's laughter, shaking his head at the thought. He knew how competitive Leah and the boys on the Rez were.
"Paul and I finished the painting, but you have to wait till tomorrow to see it as it's drying at Emily's. Paul also said thank you for the offer and that he will take you up on it, Daddy."
"That's amazing sweetheart." Charlie praised once she'd finished telling him about her day. "I will make sure to get Friday off to come and watch you. It's against the Seattle wolves isn't it? And when you know the exact day of the competition, I will make sure to get the day off then too. Even if I have to do overtime one night." Charlie squeezed Imogen in a hug kissing her forehead as he told her how proud he was of her.
"Yep. Spartans against Wolves." Imogen confirmed giggling. "If only they were Lions." She giggled, getting a fond eye roll from her father. "And yes. I completed all my homework at Uncle Billy's." She added, knowing what her father's next question would be.
"Good girl. I knew you would." Charlie praised, relishing the quiet time with his youngest daughter.
"How was your day, Daddy." Imogen asked, getting up to make her and her father a hot chocolate and to put the cookies in the fridge on top of her Dad's lunch. It was tradition for the pair to settle down with a hot chocolate and talk about their day.
Plus, as she had already showered at Uncle Billy's, changed into a pair of pyjamas she kept there and washed her bikini and wetsuit, she could relax without having to worry about showering. All she had to do was wash her clothes, which she did while waiting for the kettle.
"It was nice and relaxing. Thank you, Sunshine." Charlie thanked her, taking the hot chocolate from her. "I caught up on The Walking Dead, so I'm on season one, episode five. Nowhere near you." He teased, Imogen stuck her tongue out at her father and shrugged. "Cora agreed to give Bella a trial run starting tomorrow after school."
"Bet she loved that. Especially as she seemed obsessed with Edward." Imogen commented dryly.
"Edward? The stuck-up brother of Jasper? Who thought he was too good to wear the rings you, Ella and Leah slaved tirelessly over?" Charlie asked, anger seeping into his tone.
"Yep." Imogen confirmed, popping the 'p.' "Jasper and the others are going to speak to Carlisle and Esme about him. He seemed just as obsessed as Bella did. Make sure they don't give in to Edward like always."
"Right." Charlie nodded, storing that piece of information away. The officer side of him told him he was going to have trouble with Edward and Bella and that it would only end badly. He just hoped his Sunshine didn't get caught in the middle. "Giving in is never a good idea. Look at what your mother has done." He sighed, gesturing towards the stairs with a wave of his hand. Imogen hummed in agreement, sipping on her hot chocolate.
"I want you to promise me, sweetheart that if anything happens I want you to stay far away from it. I don't want you caught in the middle." Charlie albeit begged.
"I promise Daddy." Imogen swore. "I don't want no part in whatever drama Bella and Edward cook up if he fails to listen. Which he will as he failed to listen when Carlisle spoke to him about the rings and about his treatment of Jasper, Rose and Emmett. And for trying to use Alice and Storm for his own gain all because of their gifts."
"Good." Charlie nodded satisfied, the pair slipped into a comforting silence afterwards just relishing the comfort they got from their cuddle session with each other and Patch and Shadow.

~ Earlier that evening, Cullen House ~
"Oh for fuck sake Edward!" Rosalie shouted; she was beyond her limit with him. Both angry and frustrated with him.
"Rose!" Esme admonished.
"No. I've had enough. I've heard enough!" Rosalie snapped, her eyes darkening as she glared at Edward, Esme and Carlisle. "That girl, Isabella Swan, isn't his mate! He just wants her because she's his Blood Singer, and he can't hear her thoughts. But I've got news for you: he can't hear Imogen's thoughts either, or Ella's or Leah's. So his points count for nothing!"
"But that is because they're –"
"Finish that thought I dare you!" Jasper growled. "Because both Major and I would love nothing better than to rip you apart!" He taunted.
"Enough!" Carlisle ordered, stepping in before either Edward could say anything else that would cause Jasper/Major to follow through with their threat.
"No Carlisle." Emmett growled. "You allow him to slander Imogen, Ella and Leah for their gifts and abilities and yet you and Esme are more than happy to still use the rings they made for us all. Talk about double standards." He scoffed, rolling his eyes at them. "You're supposed to rule this Coven fairly, and do you? Like hell do you. You're supposed to care for Imogen not only because she's our friend and Jasper's mate but you're her doctor. Apparently your words don't count for much."
"Edward, head to the Denali's." Carlisle spoke to Edward after a moment of tense silence had passed after Emmett's outburst. "Until you are sure you can control yourself around Isabella Swan without the need to drain her."
"Is that it?" Alice asked, shocked.
"You can't be serious!" Storm shouted, electricity buzzing around her fingers.
"It is the best course of action." Carlisle replied nonchalantly.
"For who?" Jasper demanded angrily. "Because it certainly is not for Imogen and not for us either. Do neither of you care for the threat that he and Isabella pose to not only Imogen, you know my mate, but to our survival. As Isabella is only a Blood Singer she has no business knowing about us, a fact you know, as it's the law and you lived with the Volturi for centuries Carlisle, so you know the laws intimately."
"He has been alone for so long though." Esme moaned.
"I'M OLDER THAN HIM AND WAS ALONE FOR LONGER, BUT YOU DIDN'T SEE ME INTERACTING WITH A BLOOD SINGER!!" Jasper roared, done with this conversation. It felt like he was talking to a brick wall.
"No you just killed them." Edward muttered snidely, sneering at Jasper.
"We all have!" Storm shouted. "The only one out of all of us who hasn't consumed human blood is Rosalie! You condemn Jasper for when he slips and say he doesn't have any control, which you and Esme agree with Carlisle and that is just wrong! Did you ever think that due to Jazz's gift that is why he has had slips as he lives in a house full of seven other vampires? Day in and day out he feels our hunger and blood lust on top of his own!"
"The fact that he hasn't slipped more than he has is amazing." Alice added. "He has better control than even Carlisle to be able to go to school repeatedly – which would be the worst place for him if he is as bad as you think – or do you simply care for no one but yourself, Edward? And do you two care for no one but him?! Because I find it funny that you begrudge our slips when we come across our Blood Singers or our hunger overrides Jasper, but yet you said nothing and welcomed Edward back with open arms after a ten-year binge on human blood. And trust me, he lied to you about who he went after."
"That's not true!" Edward argued , even though Jasper could feel that he was lying, and it was obvious if you weren't looking at him with rose-tinted glasses like Carlisle and Esme. Although, he was touched at the others' defence of him, which succeeded to boost his confidence that was continuously knocked while he resided here. It's why he built a cabin in the woods that no one knew about – except maybe Emmett but that's only because he is a Tracker as well as being exceptionally strong.
"You have two options, Carlisle." Jasper stated tersely. "You can listen to us and our concerns and do what's right. Or you can listen to him." He growled, pointing at Edward.
"But I warn you now, if anything happens to Imogen because of Edward and Bella and because you didn't put your foot down but let Edward walk all over you as per usual then I will leave this Clan and I will kill Edward." Jasper growled, his eyes showing Major was taking control. "And it's not a threat, it's a promise."
"If Jasper leaves and anything happens to Imogen then we will leave as well." Rosalie, Emmett, Alice and Storm stated, fully agreeing with Jasper.
"She's really worth the rift you're causing in this family?" Edward asked incredulously. "I highly doubt that. Not even her mother or twin care for her." He muttered 'quietly' in a staged whisper.
The next second he was screaming as electricity wracked his form dropping him to the floor like a fly while Major pulled at his head while Rosalie and Emmett held an arm each.
"ENOUGH!!!" Carlisle shouted. "I SAID ENOUGH!! STOP IT!!"
"This is no family!" Major stated, letting go at the last second showing long cracks along Edward's neck, one more second and he would have been decapitated.
"This isn't even a Clan. Hasn't been for years, and the only one causing a rift here is you, Edward and they," Emmett pointed at Carlisle and Esme, "are letting you!" He spat, throwing Edward forward so he landed with a hard thump on the tiled floor causing more cracks to appear on Edward.
"Edward, leave now. Go to the Denali's and we will deal with this when you get back. And that's final." Carlisle ordered, though his heart broke at the words of the others, but Edward was his first son.
"I'll let them know you're coming for a while." Esme added sadly, leaving the room with tears in her eyes. She doesn't know where everything went wrong; a flinch shook her form when she heard the others scoff, followed by the back door slamming so hard the glass shattered to the floor like her heart. Perhaps she and Carlisle did have everything wrong? But was it so bad for them to want all of their children to have someone, to be happy?
