I'm Not Tall I'm Not Small {AU}

Summary: THIS WAS A REQUEST BY PlzNoticeMeSenpai
"So Caspar always teases Joe about his height so one day, Joe was out to buy stuff and a wizard is like "you shall experience what it's like to be short" and the wizard takes Caspar to a different world where he's shorter and you make up the rest :3"
WARNINGS: NONE.

Joe huffed as he jumped to try and get the microwave pasta on the top shelf, and finally after a few minutes, came to the conclusion that he could not reach it.
"Caspar." Joe whined to his boyfriend, and Caspar looked up from his phone.
"What's the matter?" Caspar asked Joe, and Joe turned red and looked at the floor.
"I can't reach the pasta." He said, and Caspar rose from his seat on the sofa and walked behind Joe while putting his arms around his boyfriends waist. Joe smiled.
"Aww, your so small." Caspar teased, and Joe's smile dropped. "Your like a little ant." He laughed and Joe grunted.
"No I am not!" Joe argued back, and Caspar raised an eyebrow in amusement.
"Whatever babe, I'll get it for you." Caspar said as he took away his arms from Joe's waist and reached up to get the pasta. Caspar bought it down and looked at the box.

Eat By: 17/3/14 or food poisoning could occur.

Caspar frowned. "Joe it's way out of date, why do we still have it?" Caspar questioned, and Joe muttered something and grabbed the box out of Caspar's hands.
"Ugh, we don't have any more. We are going to have to go to the shops to buy some more." Joe groaned, and Caspar stepped back.
"Do you want something else? Or I could go to the shop if you really want pasta?" Caspar asked, and Joe shook his head.
"I mean, you could get something else. But it better not be from the top shelf, because you can't reach it." He laughed, and Joe's face dropped.
"I'm sick of this!" Joe shouted.

"Sick of what? The fact that your so small?" He joked, and Joe sighed.
"You know what? I'm going to the shops to get pasta. It's not my fault I'm small you dick. How could you? You know I'm really insecure about that." Joe shouted, and Caspar realised how much he had hurt Joe.
"Look, babe I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you." Caspar reassured, trying to grab Joe's hand, but Joe shook him off.
"I'm going now." Joe said bluntly, and Caspar paused.
"No, Joe! Wait! It's pouring with rain outside."
"I'll take a coat."
"Joe, wait!" Caspar pleaded, but the door slammed and suddenly Joe was gone.

Caspar let some tears fall as he fell onto the floor. This was their first fight, and it was all Caspar's fault. He put his head in his knees as he sobbed, and started to feel dizzy.
The dizziness continued, and Caspar's head started to really hurt.
"Ouch." He whispered to himself, and put his hand on his head. He looked up, and was confused why the room was filled with smoke. Suddenly a loud laughter erupted from the smoke, and he shuffled backwards with tears still in his eyes, attempting to try and get away from the noises.
"You've done wrong, boy." The loud voice echoed again, and Caspar tried to stand up, but immediately fell to the ground again when he saw a old man emerge from the smoke.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Caspar tried to look strong, but his shaking voice told the man otherwise. The man chuckled, and he held out his hand for Caspar to take.
"The wizard. So follow me boy, I will show you." He said, and Caspar touched the mans hand, and suddenly wind started spiralling around him. He felt sharp pinches to his body, each one growing sharper. Caspar rose into the air, and out of nowhere a bright light blasted. It was so bright, that Caspar had to shield his face and look away.

He found himself waking up, lying down. His eyes shot open in an instant, and he sat up. He was in some kind of field, surrounded by grass. While he looked around him, the wizard appeared in front of him.
"Surprised, huh?" The wizard laughed, and Caspar's features twisted into confusion.
"Who are you? What have you done? Where am I? Where's Joe?" Caspar asked in a hurry, and the wizard crouched down.
"So many questions, yet you should know all the answers." The wizard said. "I'm the wizard. The great wizard as some people call me, I'm here to help. Your in Smallnald Land, and I'm here to teach you a lesson." The wizard answered, and Caspar stood up.
"Teach me a lesson for what?"

"You made fun of your boyfriend for something he cannot change. So now, you will experience being short. You cannot return to your world until you experience what it is like being short, and then hopefully you will appreciate your boyfriend more." He explained, and Caspar scratched his head.
"How do I do that?" Caspar questioned, and the wizard tutted.
"I guess you haven't noticed yet, but your smaller than you were before. And you have to help someone who is in need, and then you can return." Caspar looked down, and now that the wizard mentioned it, realised that he was in fact smaller than before.
He was the size of an elf.
"But how?" Caspar whined, and the wizard pointed to his left.
"The town, at precisely two minutes past 1, a fire should break out in a house. The house number is number twenty-two. You have to put the fire out, and if you don't put the fire out and save the family, you will stay here forever."

"I have half an hour until then though." Caspar said, and the wizard nodded.
"Time to find fire extinguishers and things that could help, and get the family out before the fire starts. Now go." The wizard replied, and in a poof of smoke, was gone.
He took a chance to look around him. The grass wasn't green, it was yellow with pink specs on it. The sky was a pale orange colour, and from what Caspar could tell, the clouds were made out of marshmallow. Birds flew around, but every bird had a hat on. It was unreal.

He walked through the grass, cherishing the sweet smell of freshly cooked bread coming from the town. He didn't understand how this was all happening, it was seriously impossible. He took a glance at his watch, and his eyes widened. It took longer than he thought to travel to the town, and was now ten minutes till one. He only had twelve minutes left.
He broke into a run, and sprinted through the grass until he reached the middle of the town. As he looked around his surroundings, he sighed with happiness when he saw that there was a shop right next to him.

As Caspar entered the shop, he jogged around the aisles, attracting attention from all the other shoppers. He tried to get things that would help him, but he couldn't reach it. And he felt bad for Joe, as it wasn't his fault that he was small, like the wizard said. But he paused when he saw one item that made him here in the first place.
Pasta.
He smiled sadly, and turned around and walked to the help section of the shop.
"Hi, I am looking for a fire extinguisher?" Caspar requested, and the lady looked up. Caspar had to hold in a gasp. The lady had purple hair, blue skin, and two noses.
What was this place?
"Here." She said with a high pitched voice, holding out a fire extinguisher to Caspar.
"Oh no." Caspar groaned, and the lady raised an eyebrow.
"What?" She asked, and Caspar frowned.
"I don't have any money, to pay for this." He said sadly and she shrugged.
"I'm not sure what money is, but everything in shops is free." She replied cheerly, doing a small dance, and Caspar laughed.

Caspar sprinted to number twenty-two, which luckily was quite close to the shop. He checked his watch, it was nearly one o'clock. As he approached the house, he didn't knock on the door, and ran inside instead. The family screamed, and the father stood up.
"Look, quickly grab something that is really important to you. In three minutes your house is going to set on fire." He explained, and the children ran upstairs to grab what they wanted, while the parents stayed where they were.
"If you think that we will fall for that, you've got another thing coming." The father said, but suddenly a massive eruption came from the kitchen.

The mother came running in, with a shocked expression.
"Honey, he was right. The stove is on fire, we have to get out, now!" The mother cried, and Caspar gripped his fire extinguisher and ran into the kitchen. Smoke was everywhere, tearing at his throat and eyes. It was unbearable.
"Get out now!" Caspar shouted, and all of the family ran out. Caspar tried to put out the fire, and after a while, he succeeded. The fire went out, and only a bit of damage was done. He tried to get out the house, but the smoke was making it hard for him to see. And for a moment, he didn't think that he would make it. But he did.
Caspar staggered out of the house, feeling dizzy again. The crowds outside the house were cheering, and suddenly Caspar fell to the floor.

Caspar woke up in the middle of the field again, with the wizard standing in front of him.
"Ah, you completed your task." The wizard said with a smile.
"Wait, what does me putting out a fire have to do with me making fun of Joe's height?" Caspar asked, and the wizard laughed.
"Some things people don't need to find out, and we all need a little pain in our lives anyways." The wizard replied, and suddenly the wizard disappeared.
"Goodbye Caspar." A voice said. Suddenly Caspar felt the shooting pain rip through his body, and the little stabs of pain. Wind gushed around him, and the bright light burned again.
He was going home.

-

"There's no pulse, I'm sorry."
"No, it can't be. Not my Caspy."
"He's dead, I'm sorry."
"Please wake up."
"Please I can't live without you."
"Wait a moment, he's waking up."
"How is that possible? He doesn't have a pulse."
"Caspar?"

Caspar's eyes slowly opened to find paramedics crouched over him, and a worried looking Joe with tears down his face. Suddenly Joe rushed forward and hugged him, and Caspar sat up.
"What happened?" He asked, even though he knew exactly what had happened.
Joe took a deep breath. "Well I came back from the shop, and I found you lying down on the kitchen floor. I thought you were messing around, or sleeping, until I went over to you and found that you weren't moving or breathing. I called an ambulance, but you still weren't waking up. They came here, and they said you dead until you woke up." Joe said, letting go of Caspar. Caspar wiped Joe's tear stained face.
"I'm sorry if I worried you, and I'm sorry for before. I didn't mean it, I promise." Caspar said and Joe kissed his forehead.

"It's okay, you really had me worried. I mean, I thought you were dead." Joe joked, and the paramedic butted in.
"Sorry to break this moment up boys, but you did nearly just die so I'm afraid I'm going to have to take you to hospital." The paramedic pointed out, and Caspar nodded.
And as they walked out the door, Caspar turned around and saw the wizard behind him, smiling.
Caspar smiled back, and the wizard disappeared. And after that, Caspar never made fun of Joe's height again.

And you shouldn't make fun of someone because of something they can't change, otherwise you might find yourself face-to-face with a wizard too.
And let's face it, who wants to face a wizard who has the power to rip them from their families, causing pain for them all as you die unexpectedly.
Well, not me. That's for sure.
