Jasmine's POV

I wake up in the hospital wing and frown confused. I thought for sure Quirrell would have killed me. He said my usefulness had ended. I look around the room and suddenly hugged by my mother. "Oh Jasmine, I was so worried when your father told me you'd gone missing" she tells me as I return the hug.

"What happened Jasmine?" father asks and I see him behind mum. I look away and start to cry into mum's shoulder.

"Jasmine, it's ok you're safe. No need to cry" mum says stroking my hair.

"I'm sorry" I tell them.

"What are you sorry for?" they ask me as mum pulls away wiping my tears away.

"I wasn't strong enough" I state.

"Jasmine" dad says and crouches in front of the bed. "What happened?" he asks me gently. "Why were you with him?" he asks.

"I was on my way to see my friends" I tell him. "I was in an empty corridor when Quirrell came up behind me. He said he wanted to talk about my exam, which was odd as I always got high marks. I told him I couldn't talk as I was late meeting my friends. But he kept insisting, but I wouldn't go" I explain.

"Did he threaten you?" mum asks me.

"Not at first" I say avoiding dad's eyes. I know he is an accomplished Legilimens and I haven't started to learn occlumency yet.

"He used imperio, didn't he?" he asks me. More tears fall. Dad sits on the bed and pulls me onto his lap. Hugging me. "I don't blame you for not being able to fight the curse. You're only a child, I am just glad you're safe and home" he tells me.

"We both are" mum adds stroking my hair.

"How long was I out?" I ask them.

"Only a day, Potter is still asleep" dad states. "Your other friends were here also, but have been discharged already" he explains.

"Why were they here?" I ask him.

"They went after Quirrell alone, nearly got themselves killed" he states. "Why did Quirrell want you?" he asks.

"To solve your riddle, I tried to stalled him as long as possible hoping someone would come save me" I state. "Who did save us?" I ask.

"Dumbledore" he says.

"Remind me to thank him Severus" mum tells him. He nods his head. "Anyway Jasmine dear, I hope you're ready for summer in Romania" she tells me with a smile.

"Really?" I ask.

"Really" she says kissing my nose and I giggle. "I have to go, but I will pick you up at the station" she tells me. I nod and she leaves.

"You will be starting occlumency next year" dad tells me.

"But you said we wouldn't start that until fourth year" I remind him.

"I think it's important you learn to defend yourself sooner rather then later. Especially if you wish to stay friends with Potter. Who seems to attract danger" he states.

"Ok dad" I say.

"I'm so glad you're ok" he tells me and kisses my forehead. I smile, I miss this side of dad. "Don't ever scare me like that again" he says in a gentle but firm tone.

"I promise daddy" I tell him and he smiles hugging me again. Just then I hear a bark and look up. "Lady!" I cheer and she runs over jumping onto the bed. I hug her and she licks me. I laugh.

"She missed you" dad tells me. Just then Madame Pomfrey appears. She checks me over and gives me the all clear to leave. Dad escorts me to the kitchens for some food. The house elves were happy to make me a couple of sandwiches. Afterwards, dad takes me to gryffindor tower. "No going anywhere alone, I know the danger is over. But I'd feel better if you weren't alone" he tells me.

"Ok dad, see you later" I tell him and he hugs me again. Kissing my forehead tenderly before leaving.

"Who knew Snape could care?" Ron says and Hermione elbows him. I smile and hug her.

"Tell me everything" I tell them as we enter the common room. They lead me over to the fire place and tell me how they figured out that the person after the stone had given Hagrid Norbert. Hagrid in turn let slip he'd told the person who had given him the egg how to get past Fluffy. They had gone to try warn Dumbledore, only to find he'd left the school.

So they'd decided to go after the stone alone. Di-spite their warning from Professor McGonagall. They were gonna tell me, but couldn't find me. I then tell them how Quirrell kidnapped me. To have me solve dad's riddle, leaving out the part where he cursed me with an unforgivable.

"Well it's a good thing Dumbledore came when he did. If not, who knows what could of happened to you or Harry" Hermione states.

"I don't understand why he didn't kill me" I admit. "He said my usefulness had ended, so I was surprised when I woke up" I explain.

"You must have been terrified" she says.

"I was" I admit.

"Well you're ok and so is Harry. We all are and the stone is safe, that's what matters" Ron states. Hermione and I nod our heads in agreement. "Still though, we were so sure it was Snape" he adds sheepishly.

"I know my dad seems cold and uncaring, but he'd give his life for any student of this school. Even Harry" I tell them. "In fact he was doing the counter curse at Harry's first match, it was Quirrell jinxing Harry's broom. You broke his concentration when you bumped into him Hermione" I explain.

"You got to admit, Quirrell played his part well. I mean none of us suspected him" Hermione states.

"Except my dad and I" I tell her.

"We should have trusted your judgment in regards to your dad, I mean you know him better then we ever will" she states. "We're sorry for suspecting him" she tells me. Ron nods his head in agreement.

"It's ok, I'm just glad we have no more secrets" I tell them. As I pat Lady. "School ends soon, you guys got any plans over summer?" I ask them.

"Not really, but you all are welcome to visit" Ron tells us.

"I don't think so, though I haven't written to my parents in a while. I was so focused on the exams" Hermione says sheepishly. "What about you?" she asks me.

"Mum and I are going to Romania, don't know how long for. But it'll be fun" I tell them smiling. "I promise to write as often as possible" I add. They promise the same and then asked about Harry. "He was still unconscious, I didn't ask Madame Pomfrey when she thought he'd wake up" I tell them sheepishly. We make plans to go visit Harry later and then join a game of exploding snap. Well Ron and I did, Hermione just grabbed a book to read.
