Jasmine's POV

We've all been studying for exams there are coming up fast. But the trio are still not telling me what they are hiding. So I've been spending more time with the Weasley twins. Much to my dad's dismay. He hated that they were teaching me their pranking ways. Though is proud I am keeping up my grades and haven't actually done a prank. Just be a look out really.

The twins have shown me all the secret passage ways. I even snuck out to Hogsmeade with them once and we tried to break into the shrieking shack. We didn't succeed. But it was fun. Best Birthday gift ever.

Anyway, the final quidditch is also approaching. Gryffindor Vs Ravenclaw. Ravenclaw is currently in the lead on points. But if Harry catches the snitch, then Gryffindor has a good chance a winning the inter-house quidditch cup. It was last ours in 1986. It'd be great to have it again. But before the match we have exams. Which we are all studying for. Merlin even the twins are studying and I maybe helping Draco with defense against the dark arts.

I may have fallen asleep in the library while doing a history essay. I was sneaking back to the common room. When I was pulled into an empty classroom by Draco. "Draco? What's up?" I ask him.

"I just saw your little friends sneak out of the castle to go see that brainless oaf Hagrid" he states.

"Draco, he may not be a professor. But he is still your elder and deserves respect" I tell him matter of factly. "Though it is odd for them to go see him after curfew" I add with a frown.

"Could be your chance to find out what they're hiding" he tells me.

"I don't know, if we get caught my father will be mad" I tell him.

"Come on, live a little. Besides I have heard that there might be a dragon" he tells me.

"Where did you hear that?" I ask him shocked.

"May of read a letter that said one is hatching. What if it's the one you mother has been looking for?" he asks me.

"We must know" I tell him and he smirks.

"Follow me" he says and leaves the classroom and I do so. We leave the castle and head to Hagrid's hut. I've never been inside. We reach it and peak in through the window. We see a dragon egg rattling on the table.

"That's the egg mum has been looking for" I gasp lightly.

"They are so expelled" he states and I frown. Looking at him.

"I'm sure they had nothing to do with obtaining the egg, I must owl my mother" I tell him.

"Look, I think it's hatching" he tells me and I look. To see cracks forming. He is right, it is hatching. The dragon bursts from the egg and I must say, it's adorable. We look at it in awe, we'd never seen a dragon before. Let alone seen one hatch. This was a once in a life time opportunity. But I know I have to tell mum, I just pray Hagrid won't get into trouble over this.

Draco curses and grabs my hand. Pulling me away from the window heading for the castle at a run. "What's wrong?" I ask him shocked as I run to keep up with him.

"He saw us, we must tell a teacher" he states.

"I need to owl my mother" I tell him.

"Fine, you do that. But I am telling the first teacher I see" he tells me.

"But the others will be in trouble for being out after curfew and so will you" I tell him.

"No I won't, I'll be awarded for outing them three" he states confidentally.

"Fine, don't come crying to me when you get detention" I tell him. We split up and I run to the owlery, glad I have my school bag. Once I arrive. I take out a spare piece of parchment. ALong with a quill and ink well. I write a quick letter to my mother.

Dear Mum,

I hope you are well. I just found the missing Norwegian Ridgeback egg. Hagrid has it, I don't know how he got it and I am sure he didn't realize it was stolen. But it just hatched tonight, I saw it with my own eyes.

The baby appears to be in perfect health. Even breathed fire. I know Hagrid can't keep it and it must be returned to Romania. But please don't punish Hagrid to harshly. According to Harry, he always wanted a dragon and it's obvious he's taken good care of the egg. I think a warning will do.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know. I look forward to seeing you once school is over. Yours sincerely, Jasmine.

I dry the ink and roll up the letter. Tying it up and call a school owl. One flies down and I tie the letter to it's leg. "Piper Prewett, 75 Bainton Rd Oxford, UK" I tell the owl. It hoots and takes off. I then return to the common room, using the secret passage ways to avoid patrol. I arrive at the same time as the other three, who all look sad. "What happened to you three?" I ask them.

"We got detention" Ron mutters.

"And lost fifty points each" Hermione squeaks.

"No doubt, Hagrid will get in trouble" Harry adds.

"I'm sure he'll only be made to give up the dragon and be given a warning. He didn't know it was stolen" I tell them.

"Stolen?" they ask me shocked.

"My mother has been looking for the egg all year. It was stolen from the Dragon Reserve in Romania. Don't worry I asked that Hagrid only be given a warning" I state.

"Wait, it was you with Malfoy?" Harry demands.

"I was with Draco yes, he told me about the egg and I had to know if it was the stolen egg. I warned him not to tell a teacher, but he wouldn't listen and I'm sure he got the same punishment as you three" I state.

"He did" Hermione confirms.

"Don't worry about the points. I'm sure you'll win the back at the last quidditch match Harry and detention is not the end of the world" I state. "Anyway, good night" I tell them and go up to my dorm room. Hermione joins me not long after and we prepared for bed, calling it a night.
