Ellie ran for what seemed like miles. She didn't stop, she just ran. Kuro ran behind her. She ran and ran and ran and ran and ran until she saw a ferry. She checked in with a fake license. She paid her fine and got a room. It was a marine hotel as her mother used to say. She was roommates with a girl named Kuriawa. She had a few kimonos and a single Yukata. When she went to bed she had become friends with Kuriawa. In the morning two butlers came to serve breakfast. They had a nice cup of tea and Ellie went on to the dock to watch the dolphins. She would soon land on an island in Japan where she would stay until another ferry came around. She would get to the island tomorrow. Ellie played with Kuro on deck until lunchtime. When it was time for lunch she brought Kuro in and had a nice meal while talking to Kuriawa. She went to bed a few hours later.

When she came to wake up it was dawn. She heard the horn of the ship blow. She changed to her Hakama and grabbed Kuro to leave the ship. She found a hotel and found out the island was named Leinla Hotela. She checked in with her fake license and fell onto the bed. She and Kuro had a nice dinner of Phat Thai as it was a Thailand themed hotel. Kuro ate all of Ellie's extra meatballs and curled up next to her. Maybe, just MAYBE I could find a way to America. No emperors, no gift ceremonies. She thought of things like that until she fell asleep. She awoke to the banging of a woman on her door. What was she doing here? It was two in the morning?

(Ellie): Hello?
Kuro barks at the woman
(Woman): I came to...*she wavers and kicks at Kuro* we~lcome you to the hotel~ she says it clearly drunk
(Ellie): Uhm... thank you, ma'am, but please don't kick my dog...
Ellie pulls Kuro away from her
(Woman): Well can I come in?! I mean I welcomed you! You should invite me in! I even brought you a gift! She tries to shove past Ellie while holding a bottle of alcohol
(Ellie):I-I don't drink... I'm not of age... she says this while slamming the door on the woman

The woman bangs on the door screaming "YOU RUDE LITTLE GIRL! LET ME IN RIGHT NOW! I BROUGHT YOU GIFTS AND WELCOMED YOU!" Ellie, whose heart is pounding with fear of this woman grabs Kuro and hides in her room. She hides under the bed and stays there until dawn. She didn't get any sleep so when room service came she accidentally slammed the door on one of a butler's coattails. She waited until the day the ferry came until the ferry came. The woman visited every night almost.

When it was finally time to board the ferry she packed her things and got out away from there as soon as possible. Kuriawa was her roommate on this ferry ride too. This one would last about a year but it was worth it because she would be much closer to America that she jumped with happiness. In a few miles, people would be able to go on the dock.

(Kuriawa): So how is Kuro?
(Ellie): He's doing good. He's on my bed right now.
(Kuriawa): Oh! Give him a treat for me! Anyways how was the island? She hands Ellie a dog treat
(Ellie): Ha! He will appreciate this very much! Oh, the hotel was beautiful but this woman kept bothering me... She twiddles her thumbs
(Kuriawa): Well... I'm going to bed! I will see you in the morning El!
(Ellie): G'night Kuri!

Ellie changed into her sleep kimono and laid down as Kuro curled next to her. She thought of everything she could do when she got to America. She dreamed of many things that night. Here there were emperors and other things. She wondered what it would be like in America. With those things in her head, she fell asleep.
