The Tapestry

¤ ¤ ¤

Strangely but thankfully Janna saw Snuffles in a portrait of bright yellow daffodils scattering a meadow overlooking a honey yellow sunset however he was more mangy looking, his skin was hanging off his body as though the fur was about to fall off his bones, with a flick of his head he gestured her to follow him. Janna wanted nothing more to leave the dull conversing with Slughorn... However she could not take Orion because he would not understand how far she had gotten with the plan of the resurrection. After a few moments, Janna excused herself to powder her face. Slughorn abided. Much to Albus' and Orion's combined chagrins.

She raced up the stairs as soon as she got away from the eyes of the dinner to Janna follow Snuffles, soon Fawkes appeared from a hedge as she reached the courtyard, the bright red bird perched himself in an arch of the wall facing into the green of the courtyard. His elaborate fiery colours glowed like fire in the scarce moonlight. "Follow him, Janna, I'll be waiting with everyone else" hissed Padfoot, his voice sounded raspier than ever, suddenly the massive bird  leapt from his perch to lead Janna to the clearing.

At least now Janna was not concerned about getting caught by Filch, she sprinted after the Phoenix through the green of the castle, her hair brushing the cool Spring air, the lack of snow thrilled Janna. Her body felt a rush while running, she missed having a will to do something, especially since she had been sitting in the hospital wing for a month and had not had the personal experience of running around in the forest.

Soon Janna skidded to a stop in the clearing, her trainers were coated in dew damped soil and last year's pine needles. Janna yanked out the stone seeing the dead her again but this time the clearing was flooded with people, people she had never seen before who all looked like they were decaying.

Dumbledore looked more tired and concerned than he ever had, he stepped forward to talk to Janna "Are you alright, my girl?"

"Yes..." Janna answered lowly, she breathed in deeply before sitting herself on the old stump "I came here as quickly as I could—I know where the Cite is!"

"Preferably, you can see we are running out of time, Sirius will have to accompany you to search for the Cite, excuse our haste but the time for the resurrection is growing shorter... The urgency is too great to ignore... Janna, will you be able to gather enough power to bring us back?" Dumbledore inquired, Janna looked at Remus then Sirius who watched her with anticipation.

"I will be able to... I'll bring you back tonight, the sooner the better since the full moon is further now" Janna explained, standing up and accepting her challenge.

"Are you certain?" Dumbledore was reverifying "If you need another week—"

Janna shook her head "I can do this, give me about two hours to find the Cite, Sirius should come with me, I will need his help" Janna pursed her lips "Maybe just Sirius, I'll need to keep some strength"

"Oh, yes" Dumbledore chuckled as the dead began to fade slowly in the clearing "we'll wait"

Soon it was just Sirius and Janna standing in the clearing "I'm here" Sirius shrugged, soon wrapping his arm over her shoulder, this was still a phantom sensation "are you alright?"

"Yeah," Janna muttered as they left the clearing, stepping into the dense forest, leaving Fawkes to wait on the stump "I only killed my best friend's mother and lied to his face, it's just spiffing"

Sirius had darkness move over his face "that is not your fault, practically you were not even involved" soon they were engulfed in darkness "I should've listened to Kreature" Janna muttered lowering her face, Sirius snorted as they moved through a striped patch of shadows "I'm proud you didn't, that old thing is long gone 'round the bend. Probably didn't even know what he was saying"

The conversation moved on, finally the reached the courtyard and begin to move through a corridor to the tapestry's location. Sirius glanced at Janna's hard face, her chin where she had a new scratch, the scar on her cheek, lip and nose, he sighed, feeling no air enter or leave his body... Nothing.

In front of a long tapestry Janna stopped, the origin of the drapery was hidden in an apse. Soon Janna moved the thick, heavy material aside to reveal a stone wall "Do you think you'll be able go through the wall?"

Sirius walked towards the wall, grinning like a dog "I've always wanted to try this" soon Sirius' top half was lost in the wall, similar to a ghost but as quickly as Sirius went through the wall he pulled himself out "you're not going in there!" Janna frowned "Why not? There's just a Graphorn" Sirius ran his hand though his dark hair while expressing his point "Exactly!"

"Was he asleep?" Janna questioned Sirius, he nodded "then we have no problem"

"How are you going to get through the wall without making a noise"

"How are you so scared? Didn't you do this when you were at school?"

"Times were easier on the ear"

"Lucky us, people these days are dumb, deaf and blind" Janna raised her hand to touch the mortar in between the stone "anyways, this won't make noise" soon there was a crackle, a ripple of black crystals erupted where the mortar was in a small area that Janna could fit through.  The crystals shattered under the weight of the stones, a small circle of them collapsed where the gaps were "see?" Janna then grinned "Wingardium Levioser" stone by stone Janna moved the stones into a pile in the corridor, she stepped through the openings its Sirius.

To get the dust from her hair Janna shook her head and walked through blindly because of the darkness "wait!" Sirius tried to catch Janna's shoulder but his hand passed right through her in his panic. A large mass erupted from the shadows, Janna leaned back, she stared up as a pair of sharp golden horns shone in the light, showing how large the creature was... "Run! I'll get the Cite!" Sirius barked running to a glass bubble the size of a Quaffle.

When Sirius moved through the Graphorn Janna took a sharp turn to follow him. Running past the Graphorn the gargantuan, humped-back, creature roared, there was a shingle of chains as the creature thundered after Janna who caught up to Sirius, when she grabbed the bubble—a flash of blinding light hit her hands where a sandy darkness swirled upwards to her shoulders. Sirius tried to catch Janna as she collapsed but she fell through his fingers "bloody hell!"

The large beast came towards Janna who was lying on the steps to the bubble—Sirius couldn't do anything—he felt cornered, feeling a jerk in his arm he turned to the bubble, his last hope, he reached his hand right through to meet the small bird in the glass ball. Sirius leaned down to put his hand over his niece's to touch The Resurrection Stone—
