The sun rose over the school, the sloping lawns were now overshadowed by the castle of Hogwarts. High above in Gryffindor tower sunlight shone in through the almost closed curtains which let light shower over Janna's bed. The mass that made up Janna under the covers tossed slowly soon rising and letting the covers unroll onto her lap as she sat up. Ash groaned as he rolled on his pillow which was now covered in the flakes he had released the night before.

Janna rubbed her eyes with her hands, they ran through her curly hair which looked like it had been tossed in a windstorm. The dorm was quiet, Janna slowly scanned the room to see the three other girls were already gone. Ash made a soft trilling noise as his flakes lifted up with his head, when he yawned his little white teeth shined like little white daggers in the sunlight. Janna stared at Ash tiredly as he began to brush his tail with his claw, Janna gently scratched him behind his ears to feel the white fur under her fingers.

A noise made Janna head turn, she looked at the closed dorm door to hear a klaxon noise go off then a couple of girls yelping. Janna moved her scarred legs out from under the duvet, they were bare since the pants had ridden up, but they were soon covered when she began to move to the door. Ash hopped out of the bed after Janna as she opened the door, he landed on her heel as Janna stopped to look at the stairs which were now smoothed out like a ramp to see a couple of people at the bottom in a large mess of arms, legs and faces, three of which Janna recognised.

In the mass Orion's familiar eyes looked through his thick black hair "Oi Janna!" He said before Janna shyly came to them on the ramp while trying not to slip, she leaned down with her hand out stretched to him.

"What were you three doing?" Janna asked as two fourth year girls, who had been caught in the boy's escapade, stood up and glared at the three boys who were helped up by Janna.

"It's Saturday, so school starts later today" Juno began before fixing his pyjama's shirt "we were going to offer you to come with us to explore Hogwarts"

Janna felt her cheeks flush as she stared at the three boys, Ash chirped like a canary before pulling Janna's jumper neck towards the boys, she looked at the ferret before smiling meekly "I need to get changed first" Janna said, Juno's face lit up.

While pulling a jumper over her head Janna felt a tickling of euphoria in her stomach, she felt like jumping up and down with excitement. Ash sat on the pillow of Janna's bed, he was whistling a little ballad while he watched Janna, the ferret would continue to change to ballad in the middle of a hum or a high sound as though a new record had suddenly been put on to play. Janna enjoyed the small sounds the ferret made, she wondered if he had heard these songs with his family—Janna then stopped wondering when she reached that topic.

After changing Janna opened the curtains of the room, she let the windows open to get a breeze through the room, the old smell of the castle made her feel giddy when she breathed in. Ash purred softly before letting out a small bark directed at Janna, she turned around and looked at the ferret who was at the foot of the bed with his paws out like he wanted to be picked up. Janna huffed before walk no to him and lifting him under his arms, she brought him to the swag of her jumper where he climbed up to her shoulder.

Outside the boys were hanging around the girl's dormitory stairs, Janna spotted them when she closed the door, they all straightened up slightly before Janna walked down the stairs. Janna wrapped her arms around her chest before looking at the boys who all chuckled slightly.

"What?" Janna asked as they lead her down the stairs to the common room where a few older years were settled and talking loudly about the year to come.

"Oh," Jake then smiled "we were talking to this boy in our dormitory named Yann and he told us that there is a ghost in the second floor girl's bathrooms that was murdered my Voldemort" Jake then brushed his hair back from his eyes before looking at Janna who watched the floor as she walked like she was trying not to say something.

"We should go get breakfast first" Juno announced "if you go looking for ghosts in an empty stomach you'll suffer from blood loss"

"Where did you read that?" Orion asked while they pushed through the portrait hole. Janna was helped up by Orion with a hand to her, she took it and he pulled her up, Juno followed while Jake lead them out the hole and into the tall hall of staircases.

"In a library" Juno shrugged as he hopped out the hole before looking back at the two behind him.

The group moved down the ever changed staircases, Janna felt a hum in her pocket, then she heard a cracking, a flight of stairs was going to retreat from the landing it had been resting on so she swung her arm out as she leapt to Jake who was at the start of the group.

    "Blimey!" Jake yelped as his foot on the step was nearly taken away, but he was pulled back by Janna "How did you know that was going to happen?" Jake asked as he smoothed out his robes.

    "Instincts, I guess..." Janna told Jake, she looked around for a different way down. "We should go down that one, I have a feeling it won't move just yet" Janna lead the group to a corner where the staircase was, but as she put her hand on the railing the staircase moved.

     "I think your instincts are wearing off" Jake teased, Janna and the boys watched as all the stairs moved away from their level. A high pitched laugh echoed through the towering roof down the steps  where it bounced like a gumball.

   "What was that?" Orion asked as he leaned over the railing to see the floor below them.
