Chapter Three
Hello people!! Yes, I'm posting the author's note up here today coz I really hope anyone reading this won't miss it. (Anyone there? Anyone? No one?)
Ok, ok. I just wanted to thank everyone who's read Jamie thus far, I'm really trying to improve my writing, and it's all because of you, really. You all deserve a big high five and a pat on the back for reading this crappy story of mine.
I hope you enjoy it.
Today's song is... (drumroll people)
Cruise by Florida Georgia Line ft Nelly!!! Again, I don't know why it's the song of the day, it just. I really don't know how to match chapters with songs.
I'm dedicating this chapter to Iman aka Darkangelfly, thanks for proof reading the first and second chapters of Falling for me, :*
And please, feel free to point out the mistakes or whatnot, I didn't get a chance to go through this again.
And now, Jamie continues!
Hope you enjoy this chapter,
XOXO- Zara

That night as I was about to fall asleep, I felt something vibrating on my bedside cabinet, and groaned, already figuring out that it was my phone. I picked it up and read the message on it's lit screen.
"Hey, so yeah, I was gonna call and ask for your address, but I figured that would be uncool, so I found out on my own instead, don't ask me how, I just did. Josh"
I smiled and rolled my eyes, my fingers gliding over the phone's surface as I replied,
"Would that 'way' happen to be Tory?".
I knew I was right when I received another text saying, "A magician never reveals his secrets, I'll come pick you up at 8".
I saved his number and was smiling when I dropped the phone back on its original place and rolled over unto my side, and I was still smiling when I went to sleep.
*****
"Jamie!! Hurry up! Josh's waiting outside! You're going to make him late for school!!".
One more curl... and there! I unplugged the curling iron and waved it around a bit trying to get it to cool off, then remembered it was pointless, so I dropped it in the sink, where hopefully it wouldn't burn anything and shouted, "Coming mum!!". Then tried to dash out of the bathroom. Only problem was, my sleeve got stuck on the door's handle and I was yanked back in, almost dislocating my arm in the process.
I silently cursed and not so calmly freed myself, then tried again, a bit more carefully.
My window was open so I closed it and locked it, it would be devastating if the rain got in, my reading table was right next to the window so I tried not to leave it open when I was going out.
I gave myself one last look in the mirror, making a face and flicking my hair once, then ran down the stairs, stopping by the kitchen to pick up a sandwich and give my mum a hug.
"You're l...", Mum opened her mouth to probably lecture me, but I cut her off by giving her a hug, "Morning Mum, and bye! Don't want to keep Josh waiting, see ya later!".
"Your jacket! The buttons are not done correctly!", she yelled after me. Making me groan, and fumbling to fix it.
"I'm on it! Thanks! Bye!",
I ran into the lobby and picked up my book bag, not bothering to wear it properly, I was going to take it off when I got in the car anyway.
It was drizzling lightly when I got out the front door, so I pulled up my jacket's hood and tucked my hair in properly. And hugged my bag closer to my chest, then ducked and ran to the black car waiting in the driveway.
I slammed the door when I got in, muttering, "I hate the rain".
"Hey, watch it! Don't take it out on my car, this here is my baby", Josh looked up at me, an eyebrow raised, and seeming amused said, "And who hates the rain? It's like the most awesome thing ever, see how cool the weather is?"
I rolled my eyes, and replied, "If I wanted to get cool, I'd switch on the air conditioning".
He dragged a hand over his face and said, "Are you always this grumpy in the morning?", then started the car and pulled out of the driveway. Taking a sharp bend to the right and making me hit my head on the dash board.
"Ow!" I rubbed my throbbing forehead and glared at him, "That hurt! And no I'm not, are you always this reckless a driver?".
He chuckled, and glanced at me through the corner of his eye, "No, I just thought it'd be funny when you hit your head. I was right!", and then he laughed.
"Wow, you're so mature", I said drily.
"Thank you.", he replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
It was quiet in the car after that, and I was getting a bit uncomfortable, so I reached out to switch on the radio, and he did too. Our fingers sort of touch, and something like electricity passed between them, making me yelp in shock.
"Sorry", we mumbled in unison.
And then he said, "You pick a channel, I don't mind as long as it's not some guy singing about getting his girl back or whatever."
I laughed, thinking about a song by Robin Thicke. I couldn't remember what it was about exactly, but it was something like that.
Cruise by Florida Georgia Line ft Nelly came on and I left it at that, humming it. Josh started rapping and singing along to it, and I joined in, laughing at his off key attempt to sing.
We pulled in a spot at the parking lot and he killed the engine, then turned around to look at me, "Before we get in, I just have to tell you something", he said seriously, and I began to get worried until he continued, "You look really pretty today".
"Oh", I managed to say, I really wasn't expecting that, and it sort of made me feel all warm inside, "Thank you".
"Anytime".
He opened his door and stepped out, then waited as I scrambled out my door, and then held my book bag for me, as we walked into school.

"Why is everyone staring at us?!", I whispered, my voice a bit panicky. I tried to hide behind my curls and stop blushing so hard, plus walk at the same time, but I kept feeling like I was going to stumble and fall.
We passed a group of girls that were clearly pointing and gossiping about us, and I suddenly hoped the ground would open up and swallow me whole.
Josh leaned in, really closed to my ear and whispered, "Relax, they're not going to eat you", and then added, "See, I told you you look pretty". He grinned, and I tried to smile, but it probably looked more like a grimace.
"Jamie! Josh! Hey!! Wait up!!!", my petite bff ran up to us beaming as usual, and suddenly I wasn't feeling so nervous anymore. "You won't believe what I just found out today, or maybe YOU would Josh, seeing as it's your fault I didn't find out earlier, why didn't you tell me about Kyle? Do you have any idea how stupid I probably looked chasing after him and screaming 'Josh wait up!"? And in this hallway too, why didn't you tell us you have a brother?!", she stuck her hands on her hips and glared at him, even though he was probably a foot taller than, I stood there beside her, trying to hold in my laugh, until what she said truly registered.
"YOU HAVE A WHAT?!", I reared on him, my pose mirroring Tory's. "Were you ever going to tell us?!"
He was decent enough to at least look guilty, as he held up his hands in surrender and said, "I was going to tell you guys, I swear, but the right moment never came, and we weren't positive he was going to come to this school until yesterday, can you stop looking at me like you're going to murder me now?".
I opened my mouth to retort, when someone else beat me to it, "You need help here bro?", he had the same black hair as Josh's although his was a bit longer, and the same brown eyes, and was roughly the same height, his voice sounded a lot like Josh's too, but was a bit deeper. I guessed that was Kyle.
Without waiting for a reply from either Josh or the rest of us, he turned to Tory and said, "Hello again, Smallie", his brown eyes reflecting his smile as she glared at him. He grin got even wider then he abruptly turned towards me and said, "You must be Jamie, nice to finally meet you, my brother here has told me A LOT about you, you're not as shy as he made you out to be, were you exaggerating Josh?", he raised his eyebrow at his brother as he asked the question, an expression I'd seen a number of times on Josh's face, I couldn't help wondering if they were twins.
I finally found my voice and asked, "He has?".
"Oh, you have no idea, it was Jamie this, Jamie that, this morning...", he was cut short by Josh slapping his hand hard over his mouth, the sound reverberating round the hallway, a few people stopped to see what that was about but most just continued doing whatever it was they were doing.
I raised an eyebrow at Josh, and Tory stared at the brothers as Kyle extricated Josh's hand from his mouth. "What the... what was that for", he glared at his brother who in turn answered, shrugging as he did so, "Nothing, it was just to stop you from running your mouth".
They glared at each other, and the tension in the air was so thick you could probably cut it with a knife, and we were running late for class, plus, Tory looked as nervous as I did. So for the first time ever, I stepped in to save the day before all hell broke lose.
"Um, g-guys, I-I think we should g-get to class", like some spell broken, both of them relaxed, and stepped away from each other.
"Sorry bro, I didn't mean to, u know...", Kyle said, and Josh nodded, pulling me along with him, leaving Kyle and Tory trailing along beside us.
We didn't talk through the middle of the class, and I was afraid Josh was still mad, until a folded piece of paper landed on my desk. I picked it up thinking it was Tory.
"I'm sorry for what happened earlier, we're not always like that, and I'm sorry for not telling you about Kyle, and we're not twins by the way, he's older by eleven months- Josh".
I picked up my pen and quickly scribbled, "It's ok, I'll try to forgive u- Jamie :p"
A second note landed on my desk, this time from Tory, "OMG, are you guys passing love notes already?! You didn't tell me you were dating, thanks for being the worst friend ever- A very angry Tory",
I grimaced and wrote, "No! It's not like that really, we're just friends. Come on! I haven't even known him that long", and then threw it backwards.
"So? People start dating in a shorter amount of time than you two have known each other, and I think you look cute together- Tory".
I sighed and balled up the last note, not bothering to reply, I knew she wasn't going to drop it, and I was already looking forward to Art class, 24 more minutes to go. Yay!
Not.
