Ghosts

There was a couple who were walking their way to their gate. James and Jaiden. The two couple were on their flight to Finland.

They two have been dating for a year now, and they decided to have a celebration to it. But little to Jaiden's knowledge... James has a surprise for her.

"The flight to Finland is about to depart in 20 minutes. Please proceed to Gate 105 for your airplane, thank you"

James looked at her asian girlfriend "Are you excited Jai?" The brunette nodded with no hesitation. "Why wouldn't I!? It's my first time going on a flight when I'm officially yours!"

The duo exchanged laughters. "Ticket maam and sir" then the couple gave the ticket to the airport employee. After that, they were allowed to go out the glass door.

A van appeared right in front of them, waiting for them to hop in and take them into a short trip to their aircraft. Walking to their aircraft will take up their time. Which will result of taking their time.

(Sorry if the boarding isn't accurate to the real one, I've never rode to an international one, just local)

Not longing. They finally have reached their airplane. After finding their seats. They sat down and snuggled with each other. Just guess at the third-seater of them being third-wheeled in that row.

After the plane was filled up with passengers. The lights of the craft dimmed dramatically. The pilot said a few words of welcome. After that. There was complete silence.

Everyone had tired eyes... A desire of a deep sleep. 11 hours and 34 minutes are just enough for everyone to have a snooze.

"Are you okay Jai?" The blonde whispers to his girlfriend's ear. He heard her giggle "Of course, when you're here with me, I know I am"

There was still little light out from the window. From all the lights outside. There, a barely visible smile appeared on both of them.

Soon, they felt a huge weight on their chest. As if the world had pushed them. Pinning them to their seats. After a few turns. They were finally parallel.

Though, everything felt heavy around. Their ears hurt terribly, and they couldn't move much. But since the two were used to flights, it was nothing to them. It's like they are riding on a bus. Only in this case, they are in an airbus.

As the time flies by rapidly, the time slowly sped up ticking towards AM, where the sun would come out. There was complete silence at the plane, though, no one complained about it. since it was just what they needed.

Hours Passed... The sun came shining, some people started to wake up, and James were one of those. He found Jaiden, sleeping on his shoulders. He removed a strand of her from her face, flicking them of to unravel Jaiden's face.

James breathed in awe and thought of how beautiful she is... How could he be so lucky to get someone as talented and beautiful as Jaiden? Who knew he'd be paired up with someone he knew for a long time.

As the blonde stares at her as if he was staring at the celestial body of space, her eyes fluttered open. Waking up to see his charming eyes meet with hers.

The asian smiled and mouthed a "Good morning" as she sat upstraight. The pure-blooded American, James, returned a greet with his iconic smile. A great way to start a wonderful day.

As most of the passengers started to wake up. You could already hear the steel clash at each other. The un-oiled, squeaky wheel rolled along the narrow way.

Everyone, or mostly knew, that airplane dishes are the worst. Or... Perhaps not one of the best. Though there was no left choice for the passengers but to eat it. Or else starve to death.

5 Minutes Until Landing

"Alright passengers, we are five minutes away from ground. Please take a seat and fasten your seatbelts. We are about to take landing" the pilot told them, as he contiues "Thank you for choosing ××× Airlanes. Hope you had a nice flight"

After hearing some short announcements, Jaiden leaned to her right where James is at and whispers "This would make out as a great video" then the couple shared a good laugh.

Though, they didn't notice that the person beside them, whose at the very right, was smiling at them. Quite happy to see a happy couple enjoy their trip to Finland.

One of the places in the world to enjoy an Aurora Borealis at night. As you stay beneath a small dome that acts as your home and observatory. Then, you lay there on your bed, with your special someone as you both gaze upon the wondrous sky above you. At that same moment, the stars twinkle with the heartbeat.

At The Hotel

Jaiden and James' hotel were unique. Instead of staying in a building, with one wide or narrow window with a bed. They booked in a hotel where they could sleep in a dome. As mentioned. It was a mesmerizing experience.

The hotel was called Kakslauttanen (it's a real hotel search it up :o ). After the two found their designated dome, they stuffed their luggage in a corner and changed into a new set ot clothes. Then they wrap themselves with more layers of coat and jacket to keep the warm and cozy.

James, and Jaiden went to explore Finland. Since they wondered what the country has to offer them. Maybe unique cuisines? An interesting event? Maybe something worthy to be animated and to be shared to the internet.

Hours Later

"I'm parched" Jaiden noted. The blonde turns his head to her and nods. "I am too, come, let's get some hot choco before going back to the hotel"

It was early December and snow has started to fall. So a good warm drink could soothe someone thoughout their night.

After placing their orders. There was a loud noise coming from outside. The owner of the shop busts out of the glass door, you could hear him yell through the glass "WHAT IS THIS COMMOTION ABOUT? CAN'T YOU SEE I HAVE CUSTOMERS THAT NEEDS PEACE?!"

His complaining soon piped down and seems his voice drowned in the crowd's yell. But the noise got louder and louder, soon, the root of this unpleasant noise came bursting in the cafe.

This made everyone realize that the reason why the owner's voice disappeared the minute he got out, was because he was killed.

It was clear he was lifeless, as his corpse was on the blood-stained white, cold snow. The holduppers (robbers) came up to some of the customers and threatened them to give something valuable to them, or else die.

The restaurant was quite filled up with dozens of robbers and quite a lot of police. What was worse that the screams added more pressure, which the screams were mixed with flight. Trying to stay away from danger.

"JAIDEN LET'S GO" James commanded as he grabbed the asian by her wrist. As they squished their way though the thick crowd, the pressure that was applied to them made James loose grip on her.

"JAIDEN!!" He screamed. He screamed her name over and over again. The blonde never became tireless of screaming it. But he had no choice. It was useless to call her. So, he had to push himself out of the building.

Feeling optimistic, he thought "Maybe she's out side already" with a faint smile. Although, he knew he couldn't keep it with all the guilt he was carrying. If it wasn't for him. He and Jaiden wouldn't separate by hand.

An hour passed. It was already 8 pm. When the robbers were finally arrested. With no hesitation, he dashed back in to check on Jaiden, since she hasn't got out yet. Probably got stuck in the crowd of people.

But as he entered. He stood there in utter shock.

He was right. She got stuck in crowd. But what was even worse... Was she was lying on the ground, and it seems she had a very deep cut on her stomach.

Of course she already lost a lot of blood. Since she's probably on the floor, unnoticed for an hour. So it was useless to cure her.

The only option left was... To let go. And forget anything that has happened tonight. Though it was hard to let go.

Who would he hug through the nights? Who would he hold a hand through the cold days? Who would be there to support and help him? Who would love him as much as Jaiden does?

No one.

It was such a simple answer. No one. Tonight... Was Jaiden's very period of her long sentence. Though, it may seem it was a forced period.

James grabbed an engagement ring from his pocket. He held it with his gloved-hands. Then, he started to break down in tears. Knowing that the love of his life isn't with him anymore.

A Year Later...

The blonde had moved on a bit. But the times that he and Jaiden had... He never forgot them. He'd sometimes have an imagination that she was still there by his side.

Whispering him sweet nothings, hugging him from behind... All those couple stuff.

He wished he could feel those longer. Yes there could be another way. But he refused to fall in love with anyone, as it just made his heart ache more than just remembering Jaiden by his memory.

"James... I love you" he heard. He was imagining to hear her voice again. And say it one more time. James always heard it before they sleep. He misses her doing that.

Waking up to a sunny day, and opening your eyes to see a beautiful girl in front of you with her brightest smile and greet you with a
"Good mornin g". And before the day even ends. A sweet "I love you" was said before they close their eyes and end another chapter together.

Now he's all alone finishing his own book of life. Ending the day by himself. "James, are you okay?"

James just cried. Remembering how she used to asked him when he was down.

Suddenly, he saw something rather disturbing. It a sort of good way. He looked up to see Jaiden's soul. Or ghost to some. "H-HOW--"

Jaiden just giggled "Remember James, even if I'm not with you physically, I'm always here with you, inside your heart. And I will always watch upon you, 'kay?"

James nodded with a teary-smile. Then the noirette gave him a ghostly kiss. Which was soft as ever. Just like the very first kiss they had.

After that. She disappeared slowly, blending to air. Rather than James feeling down. He felt somewhat stronger. Maybe, it was seeing Jaiden for a year made him happier and stronger...
