(Laylani-at about 8:00am)

I pace the Slytherin common room, me and Evalen had just came back from breakfast and we were talking about the match that was starting in an hour. "I am so excited!!! I can't wait to be out on the pitch, how about you Lani?" Evalen says bouncing on one of the lounges next to me. I smile at her, "Yes exciting..." I sigh and sit down next to her, brushing down my robes.

"Everything ok?" Evalen asks cautiously and I nod. She frowns at me but quickly changes the subject, "Should we get going?" We stand and make our way to the pitch.

As we enter the 'Players' tent, James walks up to me and gives me a tight hug.

James: Hey, how are you?

Me: Fine, how about yourself?

James: *smirks* Ready to beat you and your team!

Me: Oh really? 10 galleons that I win!

James: Done!

Me: Done!

James: See you out there.

I nod and we walk back to our separate teams. Gaia and Darcy are fighting over something as I walk over. "Guys come on, we have a game to win!" I say and everyone stops talking. Darcy and Evalen nod and grab their brooms. Everyone follows and soon we are racing onto the pitch.

We take our positions and the Quaffle, Bludgers and Snitch are released! Me and James hover above the game looking out for the snitch. Grace dodges Evalen and scores a goal then 6th year Darius also scores. Evalen takes the ball from Darius and races down the pitch followed by Cloud and Chloe. They attempt to trap her but fail and she scores a goal.

Chloe stops to watch the game and doesn't notice a Bludger coming right for her. Carson hits it away seconds before it would have smashed into her. "Carson?!" she sighs with relief, "Thanks!" He nods at her, "No problem!"

Evalen chucks Gaia the ball and she drops it, leaving it falling into Cloud's hands. Darcy groans and notices a Bludger coming up to her. She smirks and hits it slightly towards Gaia. The Bludger hits the nose of her broom and she almost falls off. Darcy breaks out in laughter as Grace scores two more goals.

I watch the game from above, looking down upon the others racing about the pitch. I feel a light flick on my ear and turn to see the Snitch hovering beside my head. Suddenly it moves away quickly and James almost collides with me, his arm outstretched. He must have seen the Snitch too! "Hey! Watch it!" I shout and quickly catch up to him.

I over take him and race after the snitch. I put my hand out in front of me and the Snitch is centimeters away. I move up to the nose of my broom and inch closer. My fingers brush the Snitch. Suddenly it dives down and I follow. I pull up just before the ground and continue to chase it.

James flies closer and outstretches his arm too. I hear the cheering from both houses, everyone wants to win the first match. I move up to my knees standing on my broom, then to my feet. With one hand still holding my broom, I edge ever so closer to the Snitch again. With one swift motion, I jump off the front of my broom and launch myself at the small, golden, winged ball.

Everyone gasps and the game stops. James quickly gets off his broom and runs over to me laying curled up on the pitch. "Lani?" he says and puts a hand on my shoulder. It takes a second but I slowly raise my closed hand to the sky and open it...I caught the Snitch!

The pitch and surrounding towers roar with cheering as I sit up and the rest of my team fly down towards me. They all run over and hug me, "Lani! You did it! You caught the Snitch!" Evalen shouts, barely audible compared to the loud cheering.

As we walk back to the castle, James walks up beside me, "Hey! Congrats!" he says and hands me a small bag. "Thanks!" I laugh and take the bag, tucking it in my left robe pocket. "You know, my dad did that move to catch the Snitch back when he was here!" James says and runs a hand through his messy hair.

"Yea...I know! My father told me about it!" I reply. W soon arrive back at the castle, its late and everyone is tired. The Slytherin's and Gryffindor's have the rest of the day off so me, James, Brax, Jean, Arthur, Freddie, Evalen, Cloud, Chloe, Grace, Bella and Carson decide to hang out by the lake.

I pull Chloe away from the group a bit and we sit down under a shady tree. "So...Mika huh?" I laugh and she blushes. "What? He is cute! And smart, quiet, nice and he has good hair!" she says playfully. "Are you going to ask him out?" I ask curiously and she slowly nods her head, "Maybe...after the holidays..."she replies, "Have you asked James about staying over with him?" I look out to the lake and sigh, "No...I will though..." She turns around to notice James walking over to us, "Well here's your chance!" she whispers to me as she gets up and walks back to the others.

"Hi..." he says quietly and sits down beside me. I just smile at him and keep the silence. "Holidays are coming up...do you have any plans?" he asks cautiously. I shake my head slowly, " I actually wanted to ask you about that...dad is going away for the first week of the holidays and...I was wondering if...you had space for me and Scorpius at your place?"

"Lani! Of course! We would be happy to have you guys over! Mum and dad may embarrass me though..." James laughs with a massive grin. "Really? Thanks!" I laugh and pull him into a tight hug. We walk back over to the others, "Come on guys, it's pretty late! We should head back..." James says and we follow him up to the castle.
