Before Cassandra realized it, Harry's 11th birthday drew near. She began to notice occasional owls flying to her neighbors' house. She wondered what the purpose of so many letters, but decided maybe no one was available to talk to the Dursleys.

Over the last ten years, Cassandra had become a neighbor that the Dursleys did not mind. She kept her yard neat and she kept to herself, both of which were qualities that the Dursleys appreciated.

One thing they did notice that was odd, however, was that the woman would talk to Harry. She would also offer to watch him, free of charge, when they would go somewhere.

Petunia knew that the woman seemed familiar but could not place it.

September 1st was there too quickly and Cassandra wondered how Harry got his school supplies. She knew she couldn't go to Hogwarts without raising Harry's suspicions, so instead she decided to apparate to and stay in Hogsmeade.

That night when she knew the feast would be over, Cassie made her way to the castle through a secret tunnel Sirius had shown her. She made her way to the dungeons and to Severus's office.

"Cassie!" He exclaimed when he opened the door. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm staying in Hogsmeade to keep an eye on Harry. Those people... They hate him. It's horrid for him to be there. I have him over when I can but I use a different name. I wish Dumbledore would just-"

"Miss Potter, it would be more dangerous for your nephew to live with you." Said Dumbledore, appearing behind Severus.

"Oh," Cassie started. "Professor Dumbledore sir, I didn't realized..."

"That is quite alright Cassandra. Rest assured, Severus and I are doing everything in our power to protect young Harry. For now, you must learn of whom you truly are. To do that you must venture to an area in the United States. In New York there is a place called the Long Island Sound. There are people there you must speak to."

"I know who I am, thank you!" She exclaimed.

"You know part of who you are my dear," the headmaster told her. "You see, there are reasons you are dyslexia and have ADHD. Good evening to you both." And with that, he was gone.

"How could he?!" Cassie exclaimed in frustration. By now she was in the potion master's office with her back to the door, which he shut. "I can't just leave Harry!!"

"Cassandra," Severus said softly, setting his hands on her shoulders. "Maybe he is right. I will protect the boy. You should look into this... New York thing."

"Are you sure you won't let him get hurt?"

"I will do my best."

"Then I'll leave tomorrow so he won't see me."

By noon the next day, Cassie was in New York, trying to gather more information about this "Long Island Sound" place Professor Dumbledore had mentioned. When she found out where it was and only heard rumors about the area, she finally decided to check it out.

After many hours of searching in the woods and deciding to give up as it grew dark, she came across a stone archway that she had not seen before. It was intricately carved and seemed to be pointless. Regardless of what common sense told her Cassandra walked through the shimmering archway in awe to face her self-discovery.

Hogwarts
Severus Snape was unsure of how to treat the Potter boy. He was sure that if he mistreated him, the boy's aunt would be furious with him, but the boy himself acted so much like his father that the potion master just wanted to beat him to a pulp.

He would just deal with things as they came he supposed. And maybe with Sirius's imprisonment, Cassie would accept him romantically now...

Only time would tell.
