~19~

It was already dark outside when Bakugou finally left the room. Shira spend the whole day just reassuring him that she's fine but the boy wouldn't budge. He was persistent that she has to stay in bed and recover properly. To be honest she was bored out of her mind.

That's why, when she was sure the boy wouldn't come back with yet another glass of warm milk in his hand, she slowly unplugged the drip out of her neck and started to get dressed, hence the bandages on her arms were making it really difficult. But she managed. After some time of struggle, she left her room through the window. The one thing that she forgot to think about was a 10 meters high fall. She landed on her feet and immediately lost balance which resulted in few rolls forward and finally stopping with her face eating the dirt.
She groaned unpleasantly feeling the pain piercing through her whole body and slowly stood back up. After calming down for a few minutes she started to make her way through the trees to a place she knew she will find her friend.

She walked for about half an hour before she saw a small hovel among the trees. Confident she walked up to it and knocked four times, but silence was the only response. Shira, without any other options, came inside. The looks on the inside matched the looks from the outside. Everything was in ruin. With one thing that didn't fit in. There was a hatch on the floor. With a slight smile on her face, girl walked up to it and kicked it four times. This time there was an answer.

- If you value your life, leave. - that was the only response.

- Oh, come on. - Shira started – I know you have some delicious stuff down there. You're planning on eating them all without me? - she stated, her voice imitating a betrayed one. She didn't have to wait long before the metal door was opened, reveling Ashley holding a small knife.

- You have three seconds to run, before I kill you. - her eyes were furious.

- You won't hurt an injured – she laughed nervously.

- Three... -

- Wait, you're serious?! -

- Two... -

- Crap...! - she turned around, ready to run for her life.

- One! - yet Ashley was faster, grabbing her ankle and making her fall on her face for the second time this night – You're too slow. -

- No shit, Sherlock! I can barely stand as it is, let alone run! - she made an angry face at a friend – I'm sorry okay? I didn't mean for it to go this far. I was supposed to go in, kill him and leave, but that bastard was prepared – she tried to explain herself.

- I don't give a shit about your motives, you weren't even supposed to make a move. Don't you remember?! - her eyes were filled witch fury.

- I do! It won't happen next time. - she stated.

- Oh it better not, because next time I won't come to rescue your needy ass. - she finally let go of her leg and went back inside the basement – Coming or not? - she asked, when after some time Shira was still upstairs.

- Yeah, Yeah – she went in. It looked like a really expensive apartment down there – How long are planning on staying here sulking? - she asked sarcastically. Ashley just threw a shoe at her in response. And Shria wasn't fast enough to avoid it. The impact made her lose balance while walking down the stairs which resulted in yet anther harsh fall with her face to the ground. Third time.

- One more time... - she murmured threateningly to herself while trying to get back up.

- I'll get my things and we can go back – Ashley declared while packing some stuff.

- Better hurry up. If Bakugou sees I'm gone he'll go nuts. Probably will blast your hideout. - she leaned on the wall, waiting.

- Let him try and see what happens. - she put last piece of clothing in her bag before she closed it and with head gesture told comrade to leave.

They walked in silence, but it wasn't an uncomfortable one. Both of them were just enjoying the company of one another. Even if it wasn't visible Ashley was really happy that her friend awoke and was recovering fast. Shira on the other hand was just happy to be by her friend's side once again. In a place where she could feel completely safe. Everything was perfect once again.

KILL HER

- What? - Shira asked her companion.

- Hm? I didn't say anything. - Ashley exclaimed.

- You didn't? - she asked confused – Must have misheard then... -

NOW!!!

Shira flinched hearing the sudden scream. She started looking around trying to locate the source of the voice, but there was no one there besides them two. Ashley looked at her friend a little concerned. She stopped in her tracks and looked around as well. But even with her special abilities she couldn't find anything unusual.

- What is it? - she asked.

- I don't know... I think I heard someone's voice. - she scratched her neck anxiously.

- What did it say? - Ashley didn't question it.

- Doesn't matter... I'm probably imaging things. - she dropped the topic and continued to walk back to the hideout. Ashley was quite bothered by the lack of information but she didn't push it.

This time they managed to return without further disruptions, but the atmosphere was a little tense. When they reached the house it was already dawn and the sun was pricking through the trees. Both of them entered the building as quietly as they could and made their way into Shira's room.

- Bed.. Finally... - Shira planned to go back to sleep straight away.

- Wait, at leas put some pajamas on. You're dirty. - Ashley scolded her.

- Fine... - she got up and took of her hoodie, putting a sleeping top she was wearing earlier that night in it's place. Next she tried unbuttoning her trousers, but the bandaged hands were making it impossible. Suddenly Ashley violently turned her head.

- Better hurry up, if you don't wanna get caught. Your boyfriend is coming. - she teased.

- Okay first of all, he's not my boyfriend! Second... I can't take of my pants... -

- Try harder he's almost here! - she whisper-shouted getting up and coming to help her friend.

When they both heard the footsteps right outside, Shira panicked and just jumped into the bed and covered herself with the coverlet, pretending to be asleep. Ashley quickly followed her steps and sat on a nearby chair, picked a random book, pretending to read.

- She just fell asleep. - the brown-haired girl announced when Bakugu came in.

- So you're finally back, huh? - he asked conceitedly.

- Oh, someone woke up with an attitude. - he just snorted in her direction and left the room.

Hearing him leave, Shira got up and this time with assistance of her bestie tried to unbutton the pants. While in process they unexpectedly heard the rattle of the handle again. In pure panic they mixed up the roles, so Ashley was the one who jumped onto the mattress and covered herself, while Shira, without time to even sit properly, just picked the book and covered her face in an attempt to give the impression she's reading. So what that the book was upside down.

- Ashley just fell asleep. - she insinuated.

- Oh is that so? - he asked mockingly – Where were you? - this time he asked seriously.

- To retrieve this douchebag. - she dropped the book, knowing there is no point in trying to continue hiding.

- Hey! - Ashley sat up and looked angrily at Shira hearing the insult.

- For fucking sake... - he whispered to himself and took a deep breath – I don't have enough patience for this shit. - he left the room.

- Someone's in trouble! - Ashley articulated.

- Will you ever shut up? - Shira asked rhetorically.

- Nope. - she answered full of herself. After that both of them started to laugh.

- Now seriously, help me. I don't wanna spend the rest of my life in those pants. - she pointed at the piece of clothing, in which Ashley just answered with a snort.

After some time of struggle and dirty comments on Ashley's behalf, Shira managed to change into some comfortable clothes. Satisfied with the outcome, they left the room and went to the kitchen in order to grab a snack. But the breakfast was already waiting on the table. Deliciously smelling congee with vegetables.

- Mhmmm... I'm starving – Shira without much consideration sat down and started to consume the dish.

- Zero manners... - Ashley commented while joining – Is that for us? - she asked politely the blond- haired boy just to show off.

- Ye, eat up. - he smiled, amused by the behavior of the two.

- So, how's the attention seeker? - Todoroki asked, entering the kitchen.

- Hey! - Shira grunted, for a moment changing her focus to the boy instead of the food – I am not! - Ashley along with Bakugou were laughing their asses off.

- I didn't know you had a sense of humor, Icyhot – Bakugou joked.

- Ya! Don't insult my man. - Ashley bickered. Hearing those words Shira chocked on her food.

- Am I missing something?! - she asked shocked.

- You missed a lot. - this time it was Half'n Half who answered – Sucks to be in a coma, huh? - he added.

- Tell me about it... It happens way too often. - Shira exclaimed going back to her porridge.

Soon all of them were just quietly eating breakfast. The place was unusually quiet. The bossy duo didn't argue over everything for a change. Ashley unfortunately had to admit that, even tho she doesn't like the guy, his cooking skills were above average. After everyone was done, they want back to their daily tasks. Shira just went back to bed seeing the furious look Bakugou gave her, when she tried to help with the dishes. Ashley, wanting to also escape the cleaning part went after her in excuse that someone has to watch her, so she won't disappear again.

- So, wanna finally explain exactly what happened? - golden-eyed asked when they were alone at last.

- Too much to tell. Long story short, another guy that for some stupid reason needed me to fulfill his psycho ambitions. And I didn't see that coming, so I went straight into his trap. - she scratched her neck out of embarrassment.

- Idiot. - she commented.

- I know that, tell me something I don't know. - black-haired girl scoffed.

- Can't help the urge to always be the center of attention, huh? - she giggled.

- Oh shut up, I'm trying okay? -

- Yeah, yeah... Sure. Now seriously – her face was taut – What's up with the new transformation?

- To be honest I don't know. I remember only the ending. Oh! How's your eye? - she asked when she realized about the injury Ashley sustained.

- It's fine. - she took hair out of her face to reveal the scar – Although I have no idea why it didn't heal properly. Maybe it has something to do with this new ability of yours. -

- Maybe. - the conversation was interrupted by Bakugou walking through the door.

- Hey. Can we have a moment? - the question was directed to Ashley in a silent plea for her to leave. She understood immediately and left without a word of complain.

- We need to talk. - his expression was stern.

- Should I be scared? -

- Yes. -

- Crap. -

- The thing is... - he stopped, his fingers tapping nervously on his thigh.

- The thing is...? - Shira didn't like how long he was taking.

- Look... Gosh it's hard to say. - he was avoiding eye contact.

- What is hard? - no response – Cut the shit, Bakugou. - she demanded with a sharp voice.

- I was fucking scared, okay?! - he ranted – When everyone was telling me you're dead. When there was no trace of you anywhere. When I saw you in that tube... - Shira was just staring at him, shocked.

- For the first time in my life somebody got this close to me and I almost lost them. When I saw you, unconscious in that... thing, something inside me shattered. You started it. You got into this relationship and I'm sorry but there is no getting out. It's either everything or nothing. So I just wanted to let you know that you are mine from now on. And don't you ever try to forget that. - he ended him monologue, staring at the girl waiting for her response.

- Wow. - was all she said, Bakugou hearing her unfazed voice got a little worried that he will be rejected – Does that mean I'm not single anymore? - his eyes light up.

- That's your answer, dumbass? No savage comments, no laughing? Maybe I should reconsider... - he pretended to think really hard.

- Hey! - she smacked his arm lightly, which resulted in the boy's small laugh – But I have to say this is quite unexpected. You? Having feelings? That's not anger? Are you really Katsuki that I know? Who did you swap with? - she gasped suddenly – Who are you and what did you do with my boom boom boy?! - she got ready to throw hands.

- There it is... That's more like you. Wait... BOOM BOOM BOY?! Who do you think you are?! - now he was the one with his hands in the air, while Shira was just covering herself with the coverlet and giggling.

- Hmm... I don't know, maybe your new girlfriend? - she managed to answer after calming down the laugh. He stopped in his tracks hearing the title.

- Well... - he cleared his throat – You're goddamn right! - he crossed his arms and puffed his chest, acting proud.

- And you are my... - she inquired.

- Don't make me say it, I already said plenty. - he looked at her with pleading eyes.

- I said it, now's your turn. Do it or I'm breaking up. - her voice was stern.

- Fine! Fine... And I'm your... - he glanced at her waiting face – ugh... boyfriend... - his voice barely above a whisper.

- Yay! - Shira started acting like a little happy child out of nowhere. She was clapping her hands together and smiling like crazy.

- Don't ever try to do this crazy shit alone again. You hear me? -

- Aye, aye... Not my fault that bastard was prepared. I wish I could smack his skull against concrete so it would smash to pieces. - she got lost in the thought.

- Too late for that, you already burned him to ash. - he chuckled.

- I did? Serves him right. -

- You don't remember? -

- Nah... I usually don't have any memory of those moments. -

- So this has happened before? - he got curious.

- Yeah... I don't like to talk about it. Basically my body cannot contain so much force, so when it overloads it goes boom and I go bleee – she mimicked the expression of a dead person with her tongue out and the pupils of her eyes averted upwards so only the whites are visible. Bakugou slightly chuckled at her actions, but remained serious.

- I get it. -

- That's good, because I have no idea how to explain it differently. -

The couple spend several hours just talking and enjoying each other company. They had a lot to catch up on. And they both missed one another remarkably, but none of them were going to admit that. They were both too proud for that but also not one of them knew how to express positive feelings. That was something very new to them. But who can blame them.

In the evening Shira bragged to Ashley that she's now in a relationship and has no idea how to act, but is also happy, but scared. She was talking fast and most of her gabbleing was incomprehensible. Ashley was just laughing at her comrade's stupidity. Mostly she stayed quiet because The freshly baked girlfriend didn't give her any time to respond. Nevertheless she was happy that her little brat found someone special. Someone who's worth the struggle and someone that will definitely be by her side. But she also knew what she had to do now. The daddy talk. It's time to threaten someone's life for free and with no consequences.

To be honest there is not much to mention about it. All the talk resolved into a big fight. Ashley was screaming about ripping Bakugou's head off if he dares to hurt Shira, he was screaming about minding her own business and Todoroki was sitting in the middle of this mess, terrified for his life praying they won't start a hand to hand combat. Well his prayers weren't listened to. Soon enough the duo started to throw objects and furniture at each other.

Shira was just facepalming herself hearing the noise downstairs and Shouto was now laying on the floor, wandering when he will be thrown and if this is the time his life ends. However, although they were fighting Ashley wasn't mad one bit. She was happy. She was pleased Shira found someone who isn't afraid to speak up and argue if needed and won't run when threatened. She saw in Bakugou a warrior that she expected. He could work a little bit on the anger issues though.
