✿Kennedy✿
Corey dials a number, muttering 'pick up, pick up, pick up' under his breath over and over again.
"Toothy!" He exclaims into his phone.
He scratches the back of his neck nervously while trying to keep his expression cool, "I need your help." He states. "I swear on my gorgeous hair it's nothing related to the toilet this time."
"Okay so, uh, remember how you told me not to make the weed cookies? And how you told me that even if I did make them, I should label them and make sure people know it's weed before eating?" Corey asks.
"Yeah um funny thing." He says. "I made the weed cookies and what's even funnier is that I forgot to label them. And the funniest part that you are dying to ask?"
He gulps. "Jake and Kennedy ate all of those."
A loud voice screeches from the other side of the phone. Corey had to hold the phone away from his ear, wincing.
"I know! I know!" He exclaims bringing the phone back to his ear, "What should I do now? Jake's gonna kill me!"
Corey paces around the room and pauses to glance at Jake and me.
"I've tied them up for now."
"You did what?!" Toothy's exclaim could be heard from this far.
Corey winces again before replying, "What else was I supposed to do? They're both high and out of their minds! Both were acting crazy!"
I can imagine Toothy face-palming on the other side of the phone.
"Please tell me what to do." Corey pleads.
"Fine, I'm coming." He hurries to hang up, putting his phone in his pocket.
He starts to walk towards the door and pauses, looking back at Jake and me, tied to the chairs with jumping ropes.
Jake and I narrow our eyes at him in a glare.
"You both stay here and don't try to get out, okay?" Corey asks, gulping nervously, before slipping out of the room and locking us in.
The party still goes on downstairs with faint music reaching up.
Jake and I look at each other.
We're locked in together in the same room.
A smirk comes on our faces.
I burst into giggles, "He's horrible at tying ropes."
Jake grins, wriggling his wrists out the ropes easily, "So fucking stupid."
I do the same and take off the ropes from my wrists too.
We both stumble up to our feet.
My head throbs with pain and the floor spins beneath my feet making it difficult for my body to stay put.
"Jake the floor's spinning." I glare at the floor.
"Stomp it so it'll stop." He says.
I stomp the floor but it doesn't seem to stop spinning. My head throbs even more.
I clutch my head with both hands, "My head hurts like a butt."
Jake furrows his eyebrows, his hands taking support from the armrests of the chair, "How does a head hurt like a fucking butt?"
I stare at him.
He frowns back at me.
For a long time.
We're both silent.
"I don't know." I shrug finally.
"God I think I'm going to forget my fucking name," Jake grumbles, holding his head in his hands now.
"Make it go away!" I yell.
"I don't know how!" He yells back.
Suddenly we're both screaming.
We stop after five seconds, staring at each other again.
"Now what?" I ask.
He shrugs, trying to blink his eyes to see clearly. I know how he feels. I can barely see too. Everything's so blurry as if someone bottled up mist and smashed it into our eyes.
"There must be something in that cupboard." Jake staggers towards a black cupboard at the end of the bedroom.
He pulls open the doors and stares at the clothes inside for a long time.
Then he reaches in and throws out every single item in there.
He finally protrudes a big glass bottle that looked too fancy to be hidden in a cupboard. It should be hidden in a safe.
"What's that?" I ask.
He turns around, flimsily holding the bottle in front of him as he grins, "It's the good stuff."
"Cotton Candy?"
"Vodka."
"Wonka?"
"Vodka." He repeats.
"What's a Wonka?" I furrow my eyebrows in confusion.
He gives an impatient look and staggers toward me while trying to pull open the bottle cap.
"Here." He offers me the bottle. "Try it."
I reach out to take the bottle from him, but he seems to have a change of mind as he suddenly jerks the bottle away from me.
"No."
"What?" I ask.
"That's against rule number mifty."
"Huh?"
A frown comes on Jake's face. "Rule number gifty."
"What?"
He puts a hand to his head, glaring. "Rule number twisty."
"Rule number who now?" I furrow my eyebrows.
"Rule number..." He stares off. "Oh well, it's just against one of the rules."
"We're literally high right now. I think that breaks your other million rules. Do we still have to follow them?"
He furrows his eyebrows in thought at my words. "But it's not good for you..." He says but takes a swing from the bottle himself.
I pout. "Not fair. I wanna taste the good stuff too."
He shakes his head, "I don't want you hurt."
A loud slap echoes throughout the room.
Two things sting all at once; my palm and my cheek.
I blink up at him. "I'm hurt."
"Nooo!" Jake wails.
We're both silent again.
Staring at each other.
I finally make a move to steal the bottle from Jake.
He doesn't realize I've taken the bottle from him until ten whole seconds pass.
"Hey!" He yells, but I already swallowed a big gulp of Wonka.
My throat burns and a series of coughs erupt from my mouth, "Eugh! Disgusting!"
That is definitely not the good stuff.
Jake chuckles and takes the bottle from me, "It's for big boys only."
I scowl, "Now you've crossed the line."
I snatch the bottle from him again and wrap my mouth around it. Squeezing my eyes shut, I take another huge sip of the Wonka, forcing the burning liquid down my throat.
Jake stares at me open-mouthed.
I give him a smug smile.
He breaks into a round of applause for me.
We both stop and stare at each other again.
Then we're both taking sips from the bottle one by one until we couldn't stand anymore and had to sit down on the floor.
Someone throws extra mist into my eyes. It's like watching a poor quality tv while standing miles away from it. Meaning; I can't see clear no more.
The room blurs in front of me with my legs wobbling like Jell-o.
"Have you ever tried Jell-o?" I ask Jake who's sitting in front of me.
"'The fuck is that?" He furrows his eyebrows.
I gape at him, "I swear you're the only planet on this earth who didn't have a childhood."
Jake furrows his eyebrows, "Only what on the what?"
"Person on earth."
"You said something else before."
"No, I didn't." A look of worry comes onto my face. "Jake, are you drunk?"
"Do I look drunk to you?" He gives me a flat look. "I'm not."
"My heart feels sad for you." I place my hand on my heart.
He gives me a pout, "Don't be sad."
"Ooo why didn't I think of that?" I wipe the sad look off my face, replacing it with a grin.
Jake smiles at me. "I love your fucking smile."
A blush rises through my cheeks, "I love your smile too."
"I love it more," He argues, "I love your lips, I love your eyes, I love your hair, I love your voice, I love your body-fuck you're sexy, I love you. You know? I love everything about you, and I love you."
Something squeezes my heart so tight. It's like someone reached into my chest, grabbed my heart by the throat and shook it like a baby's rattle.
Tears pool at the edge of my eyes, "No one's shown me that much love before."
Jake reaches out with his hands towards me and draws me sideways on his lap by my waist.
He places a soft wet kiss on my cheek, "I'm here for you. Tell me everything you want. I wanna give it all to you."
"Can you get me a Brown bear?"
He nods immediately, "Anything."
"Aww, you're so sweet." I take his face in my hands and rain kisses all over his face.
After a while, he grabs my wrists and kisses me all over the face too.
Then we're both tryna kiss each other's face together.
At that moment, the door unlocks and opens to reveal Corey and Toothy.
Their jaws drop open when they see Jake and me.
Corey's eyes slide from us to the bottle of Wonka lying empty beside us.
He shrieks.
"Please don't tell me you people drank the whole bottle!" He stares at us in horror.
Toothy matches his expression.
I give him a sweet smile, "I'm a big boy."
"Why would you lock them in a room with Vodka?" Toothy shouts at Corey.
"I didn't know there was Vodka in here!" He defends himself.
Toothy face-palms, "Great! Now they're high and drunk."
"I'm dead." Corey nearly weeps, grabbing the hem of Toothy's t-shirt, begging her, "Please hide me somewhere, Toothy. Jake's gonna kill me."
Toothy slaps Corey's hands off her before fixing her cat-like eyes on Jake and me.
"Is Kennedy even supposed to have weed and get drunk?" She asks, "I don't know much about asthma or her health."
I give her a thumbs up, smiling, "Gary the Snail approves."
Toothy sighs, "We should take Kennedy to the hospital." She says to Corey, "Just to be precautious. And maybe give them some water right now."
Jake and I immediately shake our heads.
We drank so much Wonka. I don't think there's any place left in our stomachs. Even a drop of anything will make my stomach blow up like a nuclear bomb. I don't want my lungs, intestines, and kidneys to go flying somewhere and slap onto someone's face.
That'd be disgusting.
Plus I'll die.
But people will get free organs.
"Toothy help me!" Corey begins pleading again.
"I swear to god - if you don't stop crying like a baby, I'm gonna be the one who's going to murder you!" She snaps, snatching her hands away from Corey's grip. "Now help me fix your mess before I abandon you to deal with them all alone."
Corey gives Toothy a military salute
Together, Corey and Toothy stumble Jake and me to our feet.
"Toothy, don't! The floor's evil. It's trying to get us. Run away while you can!" I warn her, while she struggles to get me up.
"I'll glare at it," Toothy says simply.
I gape. "So cruel."
Corey tries getting Jake up but Jake doesn't wanna get up though. Not when Toothy pulls me out of Jake's lap.
"Kennedy!" Jake calls out my name as if we're parting forever.
"Jack!" I call back.
He furrows his eyebrows, "Who the fuck is Jack?"
Corey who's struggling to get Jake's arm around his shoulder, grunts, "It's from Titanic, bro. Keep up."
Jake frowns, putting all his weight on a struggling Corey, "But I thought I was Bilbo."
Corey bursts out laughing all of a sudden.
Toothy shoots him a glare.
He immediately shuts up but mumbles under his breath 'Bilbo is a funny name, okay?'
Toothy has me steady with her arm around my waist, "Let's get these two into the car." She says to Corey, "Also arrange for someone to stop the drastic party downstairs. Mom's gonna be furious when she gets home."
Corey nods.
Toothy and he wheel Jake and me out of the room.
When it comes to getting down the stairs, Toothy leads one of my hands to the railing to get more support.
"Don't trip, okay?" She mumbles to me, "I may be taller than you, but I got the strength of a bug. So I won't be able to catch you if you decide to roll down the stairs."
"Aye!" I nod.
Behind us, Jake's cussing loudly at Corey and punching him at random places.
"Bro stop!" Corey yelps when Jake lands another punch on his stomach. "You're getting slippery under my grip and god what do you eat? You're heavier than a horse."
"Let me go, you stupid ass!" Jake glares, trying to get free.
"Look I know you want your lady but right now you're in the middle of the staircase where you might die if I accidentally let go." Corey explains, "Do not make me let go!"
Jake punches him again.
"Bro! Did you not hear whatever I just said?" Corey scowls.
"There you go." Toothy sighs in relief when we both reach safely downstairs without either of us tripping or falling straight to our broken necks.
"The ground look's so welcoming," My head lolls against Toothy's shoulder, "I wanna sleep."
"No, no, no. Don't go to sleep." Toothy stops me, "Sleep in the car, not now."
I groan.
A series of yelps and screams barrel behind us making Toothy and I jerk our heads back to look.
Corey and Jake roll down the stairs, both screaming, swearing and yelping.
They land as a dumped pile of clothes at the bottom of the stairs.
Toothy and I wince looking at their tangled mess of limbs.
"You had one job!" Toothy glares at Corey who's underneath Jake's huge form looking as if he just saw Angel Gabriel.
"Am I dead?" Corey whispers.
"Toothy." He groans out, "Toothy, I think I broke my butt bone."
Jake lifts his hand and smacks it straight on Corey's face, "It's called a fucking tailbone you stupid ass."
"Oh well, I broke something from my bottom, okay?" Corey glares, "First off, you get off me, you hippo." He starts shoving Jake until Jake rolls off him.
Corey stands up, wincing, and cracks his back before doing a little stretch.
He lets out a small hiss, "Ah I think I'm gonna get a bruise on my butt. Should I get my ass checked? Now that we're going to the doctor anyway?"
"I swear to God if you show your butt to the doctor." Toothy warns.
"Oh come on, everyone wants to see this sexy ass." Corey comments.
Jake slaps Corey's butt making Corey yelp.
"I just said I'm getting a bruise there," Corey yells, "My ass is off limits right now to all your thirsty hands, got it?"
"Shut up," Toothy snaps for what seems like the hundredth time today, "Get Jake into the car."
"Na-uh, I ain't picking that heavy motherfucker."
"Who's fucking who's mother?" Jake asks, confused, still lying on the ground.
I wanna lie down beside him.
I want his hands on me.
I want his mouth on me.
Oh god.
I'm horny.
I'm drunk and I'm horny.
I'm drunk and I'm horny and I'm thirsty.
I'm going to faint.
Toothy staggers with me out of her castle and into a very shiny-looking red car.
"Does it taste it cherry?" I ask her as she unlocks the car.
"Erm...probably." She answers.
I bend down to lick the car but Toothy snatches my shoulders and makes me stand back up.
She helps me into the passenger seat and buckles my seatbelt.
She smells so good. Like flowers and perfume and soap and freshness.
"You smell like heaven." I smile at Toothy.
"Thanks, hun." She smiles back before shutting the door.
Corey gets Jake in the backseat with so much difficulty that even I feel sorry for him.
"I want to sit with Kennedy!" Jake whines.
"The teacher has already arranged the seats, dear," Corey replies.
Soon, Corey gets beside me in the driver's seat and Toothy gets behind with Jake.
The car starts moving.
"Bye-bye castle." I wave to Toothy's house.
I don't know where we're going.
Oh wait.
I did know where we were going.
It was the carnival something.
We're going to a carnival?
I hate carnivals.
They have clowns and darts and arrows and freaky monster houses.
"I DON'T WANT TO GO!" I scream.
Corey screams back, frightened by my scream.
I start to unlock and door and reach for the door handle.
"No!" Corey shrieks, seizing my wrist with one hand while trying to stay focused on the road.
"I'll rather die!" I shriek, trying to get my hand free.
"Are you crazy?" Corey yells.
He still doesn't let go of my hand.
Oh wait—
I have another hand.
I start opening the door with my other hand.
"Toothy!" Corey yells, frantic as he almost lost control of the steering wheel.
Other pairs of hands grab my other wrist as Toothy leans forward from the backseat.
She yelps suddenly.
"Ow! Jake, stop pulling my hair!"
"Your hair reminds me of brown bears," Jake says.
"Jake, I'm tryna save your girlfriend from suicide here!" Toothy yells.
"You know who used to like brown bears?" Jake voices out, his tone very sad suddenly.
Corey squeals when I pinch him hard enough for him to let go of my hand.
"Kennedy, stop, please." Toothy pleads me.
"I don't want to go to the carnival!" I yell.
"This really beautiful girl with wild red hair." Jake continues.
"Stop trying to pluck out my nails!" Corey yells at me.
"I hate carnivals!" I yell.
"I was deeply in love with her. She'll always be in my heart." Jake sighs.
Corey lets out another scream when I bite his hand, "I'm going to call child service on you!"
"Try me, motherlover!" I yell back.
"I still can't believe she's gone. Sometimes I still hear her voice, you know? She's yelling at someone with death threats." Jake gives a sad smile.
"I'm going to skin you alive and chop off your limbs one by one and throw your pathetic butt into the river Indus!" I threaten Corey.
"Toothy!" Corey calls her for help.
"I'll always miss her." Jake continues.
"Ow! Kennedy! Get your hands off my mouth! Those are my teeth! Stop! OUCH!"
"Pearly diamonds." I try grabbing those beautiful pearls hiding in Corey's mouth.
"Toothy!" Corey yells.
A very loud scream screeches over all our voices enough to crack the windows of the car. All of us clamp our mouths shut immediately as Toothy silences us with her frustrated scream.
Corey jerks the car to a stop near a curb and Toothy barrels out of the car with a raging temper.
"You three," She snaps at us. "Listen up right now!" She demands our attention, standing with her hands on her narrow hips.
Jake, Corey and I immediately seal our lips shut.
"Kennedy, I love you but you're driving me nuts right now. We're not going to the freaking carnival! We're going to the hospital!" Toothy exasperates looking in my direction before glaring at Corey.
"Can you for once - in your entire fucking life - be responsible and act maturely when you're supposed to? I swear if I hear you scream in that annoying voice one more time, I'm gonna saw off your throat and make sure you never utter a word again, you get me?" She demands.
"Yes ma'am!" Corey responds quickly.
"And Jake?" Toothy turns her eyes in Jake's direction.
He looks at her.
"KENNEDY'S STILL ALIVE!" She yells.
Jake cowers back into the seat.
"Now that we've all cleared up this," Toothy starts. "We're going to go to the hospital, Kennedy is going to sit quietly and not touch any doors. Corey is going to drive like a responsible man and Jake is going to stop hallucinating about his girlfriend's death." She states one by one gazing at each one of us.
"Got it?" She demands.
We all nod vigorously.
"Good."
She gets back into the car and slams the door shut. Jake tries scooting away from her, sticking himself to the door on his side.
Corey turns the key in the ignition.
The car hums to life.
Then goes dead.
He furrows his eyebrows and turns the ignition again.
The car purrs for a while before silencing again.
"Uh..."
"What?" Toothy asks.
"I don't know," Corey furrows his eyebrows uneasily, trying to start the car again and again, "It won't work."
A low growl-type groan comes from Toothy's mouth, and she looked as if she was going to burst at any moment.
"What are we going to do now?" Toothy pulls at her hair, "We're literally in the middle of a huge empty road!"
Corey sighs, reaching under his back pocket and pulling out his phone, "Gonna call the tow guy. What else can we do?"
"Let's get you two some fresh air till then," Toothy sighs before helping Jake out of the car.
Corey comes to my side and pulls me up, easily holding me with his phone placed between his cheek and shoulder.
Toothy makes Jake sit on the ground with his back leaning against the car and Corey plops me down beside Jake. We're both on the other side of the car, facing away from the road.
"I missed you," Jake says immediately wrapping his arm around my neck, pulling me towards him.
"I missed you too." I smile, resting my cheek against his shoulder.
"I thought I lost you forever." His face nuzzles into the crook of my neck.
"I'm right here," I respond, running my hands through his soft silky hair.
Slowly, his hands find the hem of my dress and he trials his fingers underneath.
"I've been so horny." I tell him, "I know how you feel all the time now."
He shakes his head, his nose tracing the skin near my ear, "No one knows how horny you make me every single fucking time." His voice goes two times lower.
He bites my earlobe making me suck in a breath.
His hand trails further up my little black dress.
"I want to fuck you so bad." He groans as he holds one of my breasts.
My eyes flutter close as he starts playing with the fabric of my bra while his teeth dig into the skin of my neck.
His mouth trails up, placing hot wet kisses.
I'm buzzing on his lap with warmth pooling in my stomach.
Jake tilts up my head to get more access to my neck.
A loud shriek screeches behind us but we pay no attention.
"Toothy!" Corey screams, "I swear I'm going to go hurl myself off a cliff and swim willingly into a shark's fucking mouth!"
"I told you not to scream—Oh my." Toothy stops, her eyes widen on Jake and me.
"Even bleach won't help what I saw." Corey has his hands on his face, "Toothy you see them? Are we really gonna watch our brother grope someone's boob?"
"Shut up Corey." Toothy's voice laces with a hint of uneasiness.
"Shut up? You're telling me to shut up?" Corey takes off his hands and gives Toothy a wide-eyed stare. "You won't say anything to Jake who's currently going to strip in the middle of the fucking road?"
Toothy barely looks in our direction.
"You know what?" Corey throws his hands up, "My innocence can't take this."
He marches quickly over to Jake and me and grabs the back of both our clothes, jerking us apart.
"Hey!" Jake and I yell at the same time.
Corey slides his hand under my arms, pulling me up until I'm standing. He straightens my dress which Jake had pulled up, "If you two are gonna have sex in the middle of the street then it better not be when I'm there." He says. "You people are gonna ruin my image."
"You're just jealous because you're single." Jake bites out.
"Ouch." Corey places his hand on his heart, looking actually hurt.
"That...is kinda true." I shrug.
Corey shoves me playfully, "You're not on my side anymore."
Even if his shove was playful, I go tumbling down to the ground on my hands and knees.
It's the ground's fault. It won't stop spinning. I think it thought Corey wanted to pair up with it and try to trip me together. Sucks for the ground. Corey loves me and he would never do it on purpose.
Toothy and Jake yell at Corey.
"Shit." Corey quickly picks me up, dusting my dress and inspecting my knees and palms.
"I'm going to kill you." Jake narrows his eyes at Corey, although his focus seems to be off.
"Bro, I already know that." Corey sighs sadly.
"Is the tow guy coming?" Toothy asks.
Corey nods, "He'll take his time though."
Toothy sighs, "Should we call a cab then? I mean...Kennedy looks fine?"
Every eye turns to look at me.
I look back at everyone before striking a pose with my hand on my waist and making a duck face.
I burst out laughing.
"Except that she's drunk and high," Corey mutters, adjusting his hand around me to grip me better.
"I'm drunk, baby!" I yell, laughing out some more.
Jake's lips pull up in a grin.
"I think...there's no need to go to the doctor. She didn't have to use her inhaler even once since she got high." Toothy says.
"Wheee!" I arch my back, letting my head fall in the direction of the ground, enjoying the feeling of just free-falling backwards.
Corey's grip loosens for a moment before he catches me with both hands with a yelp, saving my head inches before it slammed on the road.
"Are you crazy?!" Corey yanks me back up, rattling my body a little.
But I only laugh, "I'm drunk, I'm hilarious, I'm gorgeous, I'm beautiful." I list out.
Jake's face cracks into a smile and he might even be laughing.
I don't know.
I start singing.
"Who says, who says you're not perfect?"
"I can't believe I'm saying this but," Corey starts, "I'm annoyed. You hear that, Tooth'? I don't think I've been this annoying when I'm drunk."
Toothy gives Corey an 'oh please' look, "You don't want me to list everything you do when you're drunk." She warns.
"Trust me," I sing, "that's the price of booty!"
"Who says you're not pretty?" Jake joins in.
"I do!" Corey snaps, placing me down on the road again, making sure I'm properly propped against the car.
"You're just jealous." I laugh patting Corey's cheek before he stands back up.
Corey walks over to Toothy, with a complaining voice.
I drown out his voice, darting my eyes to Jake.
He grins when our eyes meet.
I grin back.
We both crawl towards each other until we're huddled together beside each other.
"I missed you." He tells me.
"I missed you too." I laugh softly.
Behind us, Corey's still complaining about something while Toothy has her elbow on the hood of the car, her chin on her palm, listening to Corey with a bored expression.
Jake nudges my side with his elbow.
I look at him.
"Wanna be mine for tonight?" He asks.
"We're together, Jake." I chuckle.
"I wanna have a redo." His eyes sparkle, "I wanna re-create the moment when I first laid eyes on you."
"I thought I was going to fart when I first met you," I say.
"I thought I was going to get a fucking boner right in front of Alex."
"Doesn't your doorknob not break off from being that horny?" I ask.
He narrows his eyes, "What doorknob?"
"You're pee-pee."
"You have a pee-pee." He fires back.
"Jake, you know I don't have a pee-pee," I say.
He smirks, "Yeah cos I've felt you, seen you, sucked you, fingered you-"
"I don't think we need to remember that." I interrupt him, patting his face away which had gotten closer to mine.
"Why not?" His hands come on my hips. His hands clumsily pull me on his lap. His eyes sparkle with a different kind of look, "You looked perfect every single time."
"What would you do if you were an octopus?" I ask.
He furrows his eyebrows, "Where did that come from?"
"Just answer me."
He continues furrowing his eyebrows at me, "Probably be latching onto someone's ass."
I laugh.
"Probably yours." He continues.
"Uh-huh, what if I was a pufferfish with thorns?"
He shrugs, "You're worth a little pain."
My heart squeezes.
I smile, "Okay."
"Let's get out of here now." He takes my arm, and we slowly rise from the ground, stumbling a little as we try to quieten our laughter and sneak off while Corey's still ranting Toothy's ear off.
