SUMMARY

After her father's death, 34-year-old Dr. Michaela Ann Ramirez (referred to as "Kay" by her friends) moves from her hometown of Boston to London to work in St. Bart's Hospital, hoping to set up her own practice one day. She makes a difficult adjustment to life in a new country with the aid of consulting detective Sherlock Holmes and fellow doctors John Watson and Ainsley Fletcher.

After Ainsley is fatally injured, she asks Michaela on her deathbed to look after her three children: 16-year-old Derek, 13-year-old Camellia "Cami," and 8-year-old Max. Michaela now has to adapt to her new life as an adoptive mother, while finding a romantic connection to Sherlock.

INFORMATION

III. Michaela is the youngest of her sisters.

VII. Ainsley's husband, Ryan, left her and took most of their savings. He returns some time after Ainsley's death in an attempt to reconnect with his estranged children, only to abandon them again.

VIII. Sherlock and Michaela share their first kiss on Michaela's 35th birthday.

VIV. Michaela returns to Boston when her mother is hospitalized and asks Sherlock to accompany her and the kids. During the trip, Sherlock and Michaela finally tell each other that they love each other.

IX. Michaela is abducted by a group of men who used to work for Moriarty, but she is saved by Sherlock.

X. After they become engaged, Sherlock and Michaela make plans for Sherlock to legally adopt the kids. But Ryan returns again, this time with his new wife Sarah. Although they initially consent to the adoption, Sarah soon learns that she can't have children, prompting them to fight for custody. Ryan and Sarah reclaim the kids briefly, but Michaela wins back custody.

XI. When Michaela's mother and sisters come to her wedding, Michaela and Victoria clash over the wedding plans, while Claire is bitter towards Michaela. However, the sisters reconcile and Victoria is the one to give Michaela away at the wedding.

XII. The wedding is held in May.

XIII. Michaela learns that she is pregnant in November and gives birth to a baby girl named Lianne Victoria, nicknamed "Lia" by her family.

XIV. The ship name is Sherchaela.
