Gabriella sat besides Rosa at the briefing room. It was no secret that she felt tired and exhausted. School and work are very stressful and consume a lot of time. "Okay squad, the funeral's at 3.00, followed by a reception at Shaw's Bar. I want you all on your best behavior." "Yeah and all eyes are gonna be on us because Frick and Frack here killed Captain Dozerman.", interrupted the Vulture Terry's speech while pointing towards Amy and Jake. "Hey, we accidentally startled a man with a genetic heart condition." "If you really think about it his parents killed him.", defended Gabriella her friends and looked at the Vulture. "All right, whatever chipmunk. Look, there's a horse race going off in Dubai. I got serious money on it. Dismissed.", shouted Pembroke and walked out.

Everyone stood up and only the inner circle stayed behind. Jake walked over to the door, watching if the new captain was far. As soon as he was sure, he closed the door and turned to his friends. "He is the worst captain we've ever had. He drew boobies on my bulletproof west.", complained Jake. "He stared at me for 90 seconds while he ate an entire peach.", said Rosa with a disgusted look on her face. "He called me chipmunk five times in a row and ripped my homework apart. It took me the whole weekend for it!", yelled Gabriella and crossed her arms. "He heard that I speak Spanish and he made me fire his housekeeper. She was Polish.", said Amy with an angry look. "At least he doesn't practice his crane kicks with you.", complained Charles. "I didn't move."

"Listen guys. Jake and I were talking last night." "Pillow talk alert! Set the scene. Spooning or face-to-face?", asked Boyle, interrupting Amy. "Charles.", warned him Gabriella. "Spooning.", whispered the older man and celebrated quietly. "Anyway, we came up with a plan. Jake is going to befriend the Vulture so he lays off of us.", said Amy with an regretting look on her face. Everyone made disgusted expressions. "It's true. I'm gonna go bro down with him. If everything goes according to plan, we should be beer pong doubles partners by the end of the week.", said Jake and watched his colleagues' face expressions. "Now somebody get me a puka shell necklace. I'm going full on douche." "On it!", said Gabriella and typed around in her phone. "Thanks sis!", said Jake with a bright smile. "No problem bro!"

Gabriella stood besides Rosa while drinking her hot chocolate. She wore full on black today and got the chance to wear one of Rosa's leather jackets. Even tho Gabriella hated funerals, she loved dressing up! "Hey, G-spot!", said Charles as Gina walked in. "Rosa, Charles, Gabby bear, oh, I missed you guys so much.", said Gina happy and almost got knocked out by a big Gabriella Peréz hug. "Holt is waiting for you." "Thanks Gin! See you guys later!", mentioned Gabriella and walked out of the break room with her hot chocolate in hand.

"Captain Raymond Holt!", shouted Gabriella through the bullpen as she saw her godfather walking out of his old office. "Gabriella Peréz.", he said and let a smile to creep on his face. The girl gave her drink to Scully, mentioning to him to not drink it while she ran towards Raymond. The man opened his arms and welcomed his niece. She buried her face inside his uniform while hugging him tightly. "I miss you here. Everything is so bad!", she stated. Raymond only tapped her back a few times before breaking up the hug. "I'm sorry to hear that." "Come back as soon as possible. Please.", said Gabriella again and saluted towards her old captain. The man saluted back and hugged the girl once again before going to the elevator. The girl waved at him before walking over to Scully's desk, taking back her hot chocolate. "You okay?", he asked slightly concerned. The girl shook her head and made a sad expression. "Hug?", he asked. "Thanks Scully.", said Gabriella and send him a smile while hugging him. "Always, Gabby.", he answered and smiled back. "Gabs, it's time to go!", shouted Rosa through the bullpen. The younger girl broke up the hug and got on her tippy toes. She kissed Scully's cheek lightly making him to smile even brighter. "I owe you a pizza!", she smiled and went over to Rosa, taking her hand.

Gabriella was always kind to Hitchcock and Scully. Both were weirdos but she found them hilarious. And their friendship was goals!

"Okay, guys, I know captain Dozerman was a nightmare and that none of us liked him. But I'm gonna need all of you to pretend like you're sad. Everyone make a sad face.", said Terry as they were at the funeral. "Scully, you're nailing it!" "My wife just texted. She's leaving me." "Good, use it.", said Terry and got a punch from Gabriella. "Show some feelings Terry!", she whispered while sending Scully a small smile. "Now, anyone seen Captain Holt? He seemed a little down when he came in.", continued Terry, ignoring the youngest squad member. "Yeah, he let me choose the music on the way here which leads me to believe he's given up on life.", said Gina making Gabriella to worry. "I got to go find him. Now be respectful and grieve your asses off. Come on Gabby.", said Terry and took Gabriella's hand gently. "I don't know why this is happening." "Scully, I love it! Everyone follow his lead.", ordered Terry and walked away with Gabriella. The girl only squeezed Scully's shoulder quickly and smiled at him once more.

As both walked out saw Gabriella a familiar blonde haired girl. "This can't be!", she whispered in disbelief. "You go find him Sarge. I'm gonna stay here.", informed Gabriella Terry and let go of his hand. The brunette walked towards the familiar face and tapped their shoulder. "Marissa?", she asked. Marissa turned around and couldn't believe her eyes. "Gabriella? Hi oh my God!", she said and hugged the girl. "What are you doing here?" "I'm with the squad for Dozerman's funeral. The real question is what are you doing here?", asked Gabriella confused. "Seth Dozerman is my mom's uncle.", explained Marissa quickly. "Oh I'm so sorry!", apologized Gabriella. "Don't be. I never knew him anyway.", laughed Marissa lightly. "Josh and I broke up.", she added with a smile. But Gabriella wasn't smiling. She was more confused. "Why are you so happy?" "It was the best for both of us. We are better as friends.", she answered. "My mother is coming towards us! Come with me.", added Marissa and took Gabriella's hand gently, walking outside with her. As Marissa touched her hand, felt Gabriella a light blush on her cheeks. Was she liking it?

Both stopped running and laughed outside. "This reminds me why I hate PE classes so much!", said Gabriella and caught her breath again. Marissa couldn't help it but to smile at Gabriella's silly behavior. It was strange but not unknowing to her. She felt butterflies before in her stomach, just not around Josh. "I have to go. The ceremony is starting.", said Gabriella quickly. "Okay. See you on Monday!", said Marissa and smiled brightly. "Monday?" "I'm switching to your school. Toodles!", broke Marissa the news and kissed Gabriella's cheek out of reflexes. Both stared at each other before blushing slightly. The blonde ran back inside thinking about how stupid that was while Gabriella smiled in surprise. She walked inside the building, searching for her friends.

"Rosa! Gina!", she shouted and ran to her friends. Gina made space between her and Rosa, letting the girl to sit down. "Is that lipstick on your cheek?", asked Rosa and brushed over. Gabriella touched the spot and blushed immediately. "No!", she lied quickly. Gina shared a look with the Latina. Both wanted to ask the same question until Charles Boyle bursted inside furiously. "She's a vegan!" "What is going on?", asked Gabriella, trying to ignore her friends' looks. "You're right. I couldn't help myself. I wanted to know about her. And I got what I deserved--a vegan, gluten-free vegan!", shouted Boyle towards Rosa and Gina. "Charles, you need to calm down.", said Gina quite. "No. You called it, Rosa. So go ahead. Laugh at me! Laugh! Laugh it up!" "Can I wait till after the funeral?", asked Rosa, pointing it out to Charles. "Of course you can.", he whispered and sat down besides Gina. "From who was the lipstick on your cheek?", whispered Rosa over to Gabriella while smirking. "No one.", said Gabriella and looked at her friend. "I swear! Don't worry about it." "If you say so."

After the funeral, the squad went to Shaw's Bar. And there of course was Marissa with her family. Quite surprising don't you think? Gabriella spotted her immediately and waved at her but she wasn't waving back. Instead, Marissa smiled lightly at her before turning it into a playful glare. "That's lipstick isn't it?", asked Gina. "What? No!", said Gabriella and shook her head. Gina only smiled and escorted Gabriella to another table. "Gabby bear, just admit that you like her and Troy. It's not a big deal. I saw you kissing him the other day.", confessed the woman, showing a picture with Gabriella and Troy in the diner. The younger girl's eyes widened. "Get rid of that!" "I will, don't worry. I just wanted to tease you a little.", admitted Gina and laughed. "But seriously tell me, do you like this girl?" "I don't know Gin. We barely know each other.", said Gabriella and let her head down in her hands. "Then get to know her somehow. Trying is not the end of the world.", said Gina and smiled earning a smile back. "If you say so."

"And now for a message of hope.", heard Gabriella her uncle's voice. She looked up in front to see him standing next to the portrait of Dozerman. "Everything is garbage. You find something you care about and it's taken away from you--your colleague, your niece, your dream job, your mango yogurt.", said Holt earning a yell from Terry. "Never love anything. That's the lesson. To Captain Dozerman." "Captain Dozerman.", chimed everyone inside the bar. Gabriella turned her attention back to Gina. "There's your answer.", she said and stood up, walking towards Rosa with her.

"Whatcha doing there, Boyle?", asked Gabriella the shorter man. "Trying to get drunk enough to have sexual intercourse with a vegan. Why can't I just think with my junk like a modern man?" "Why do you want to do that?", asked Rosa. "I got divorced and I was crushed. My fiancée left. I cried for weeks. My only relationship that wasn't totally devastating when it ended was my casual sex carnival with Gina.", explained Boyle making Gina to look weird at him. "Never mention that again.", said Gabriella and looked disgusted at both. "Yeah, okay, but which of those relationships made you happiest before it ended?", asked Rosa serious. Charles sighed. "My marriage? Vivian?" "Yeah, because you connect with them emotionally something we did not do because I'm a higher level of being like Her from the movie "Her.", stated Gina making Charles to nod in agreement. "Dude, you can't go through life trying not to get hurt." "You should try to be happy.", added Gabriella to Rosa's speech.

"So you think I should look for someone I can have an emotional intercourse with.", stated Charles. "I wish you hadn't said it like that but yeah.", said Rosa with a disgusted look on her face. "And I should start right here at this funeral." "I'd probably wait.", suggested Gina. "Nope, no time to lose. Put on your sunglasses. I need to see if there's anything in my teeth.", said Charles making Rosa to put on her glasses. The man looked through making his friend to feel slightly uncomfortable. "Charles Boyle is ready for love.", he said and walked away. "Well, never wearing these again." "If I were you, I would burn them.", said Gabriella and laughed. "Great idea. Let's do that.", said Rosa rethinking and took out the sunglasses from the alcohol glass. She walked out with Gabriella in hand and both began to laugh.

Marissa was watching from her seat, blushing each time Gabriella smiled or laughed. Something about her just made the butterflies in her stomach to become stronger. This happened before with another girl. And now it was happening with Gabriella.
