~Hi! Sorry this took so long to come out, but honest to god, I forgot. I currently have up to chapter 5 pre-written. I'm jsut working out some details plus i need something to post while I'm on vacation. PS I had different fonts on my computer that were supposed to represent who's talking but it doesn't work here. Temporarily, Jade/Sapphire will be bolded while Emerald/Topaz are normal. Comment if you can come up with a better way because, let's just say that there are going to be certain circumstances where there's going to be more than one bond (Ex. Emerald) and more than one Catcher (Ex. Jade). Happy reading!

*Jade's POV*

          Third period, Calculus, went by so quickly. Everything was hazy and I had only one thought: Beat the shit out Matt. I was waiting in line for fourth period, English, still in that haze. I couldn't let go of the fact that I was going to beat Matt and make him leave us alone.

I wouldn't risk all of this for a girl you like, Emerald advised.

I don't like her!

Nice try. I'm bonded with you. I can see your thoughts and you like her. Look. I have to look out for you. Don't do this.

For the last time, I don't NOT like her!  I have to do this so Matt will leave us alone!

Fine. Pretend you "didn't" like her and your just "good friends." Remember, her 18th birthday is coming up. What would be worse than seeing your "good friend" bruised up from a fight? Plus, what would happen if you got in trouble and I have to save you?

Look, chances are that I won't need you. If I do, I'll just use your strength. It'll go fine.

I snapped out of my haze from talking with Emerald and turned my attention to Sapphire. "Are you all right? I was talking to you and you weren't responding," Sapphire asked worried.

"It's nothing," I said quickly. "I was just thinking about the fight with Matt."

"Well that's what I was talking to you about."

"Did that little bitch chicken out?"

"No. He wants to do it at his party, something about how he wants me to party with him afterward or something stupid like that."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah. He asked me to give you the message. Will you do it?"

"Sure. Why not?"

"Cool. I'll tell him." I saw something flash in her eyes. Relief? Thankfulness? I don't know. Still, seeing her smile like that made me all fuzzy inside.

After fourth period, it was time for lunch and I need something to take my mind off of Matt. The food wasn't good, but it helped take my mind off of things. The whole day, Sapphire was looking at me strangely. It almost like she knew about Emerald. But she couldn't have....... Could she?

*Sapphire's POV*

School was out, and there was 3 hours before the party. I had to admit, I owed Topaz for helping me come up with a way to convince Matt and Jade to do it at the party. I was worried for him and can you blame me? I didn't want him to get hurt. He seemed too nice.

We both shut up so that we could concentrate on homework. Topaz was interested in Science and loved History, but hated Math and English. She wasn't good at much, but got concepts quickly so she could help me spot mistakes.

Shouldn't we train? Topaz asked.

What do you mean?

Transferring strength. Wasn't that your back-up plan?

Yeah, but I don't think we'll need it.

We went outside and made a makeshift scarecrow. We practiced over and over and over just transferring Topaz's strength and trying to not have it explode. Believe me, it was way harder than its sounds. It took forever!!!!! We could've gone on but we had to stop and shower for the party. Even Topaz washed her fur!! I put on my favorite tank top, my black sweater that went with it, and my favorite ripped jeans. It was almost seven.

          I walked over to Matt's house. I could feel a storm brewing, and not just the metaphorical kind. Topaz's fur was bristling; she could sense it too. Well, here goes nothing. I put my hand on the latch and opened the door, waiting for all hell to break loose.
