Chapter Twenty-Three
Jade's Letter From Her Father. {Part 1}. Before her mother's death.
It has been a week since Jade got married to Jayden and her sister Maya to Rocco. It was time for Jayden to give her the letter that her father had written for her.
Jayden knew that Jade needed the letter to understand what her father did to her. Especially when they are starting a new life together.
"Jade, I have something for you, it is from your father", Jayden tells her. And then he takes out the letter that was addressed to her by her father. "It's not dad's but....."
"My biological father. How did you get it?", Jade asks him. She was more curious than angry at her husband. Because she knew that maybe her mother Warda gave it to him before their Nikkah.
"Your mother gave me a big envelope that was filled with letters that are addressed to me by your father and in one of the letters, he asked me to give you one of the letters that were addressed to you after our Nikkah", he explained to his wife.
"Thank you, we could read it together?", Jade asks her husband.
"I wish that we could but it was addressed to you and only you have a right to open and read that letter", he tells her. " Besides, I need to go to the store to get our groceries. And Jade, I love you", he added kissing her forehead.
"Thank you for being an amazing husband and I love you too. And don't forget....."
"You double chocolate chips ice cream and Nutella. I know", he says cutting her off and making her smile.
After he left, Jade was nervous about opening the letter and knowing what was inside.
She was too scared to know what her father had written for her. She slowly opened the envelope.
Jade then took the letter and put the envelope on the table and started reading the letter.
My dear,
My daughter Jade. I know that you might hate me and your mother for what we did to you. We did it to protect you from my parents, your grandparents. They were the worse type of people that anyone has ever met.
I do regret what I did to you, my child. Every day and every night I think about you. About what would have happened if we didn't leave you at the mall?
The most regret I have is that I couldn't protect you and be with you. I am sorry, my daughter.
Forgive me if you can. Always remember that your mother and I loved you very much.
I pray that you will find the perfect husband even though there's no such person as that.
Now that you are married, I trust that your husband is the kind of person that treats you like a queen.
I pray that you will always be happy in your marriage.
Marriage isn't always going to be fun, there will always be faults that will need both of you to come to a solution to the upcoming marriage problems.
Marriage isn't always 50-50. It is 100-100 because the couple shouldn't go to bed angry at each other.
Always apologize before going to bed.
Always say I love you to each other at least three times a day.
Randomly, make time for your date nights and such.
Most importantly, fighting will occur but always remember the love that you two feel for each other.
I already gave your mother, the letters to give to your future husband, and in shaa Allah he will know what to do.
My dear Jade how I wish I could see you right now. How I wish that I could hug you but I know that wherever you are, you are loved, cared and protected.
Last but not least, don't let go of who you are my dear daughter.
Be kind.
Be caring.
Be loving.
And in shaa Allah one day I will get to see you. But for now, I will leave you with this letter and your husband has mine and your mother's blessings for you two to have a beautiful life that you both deserve.
I love you, Jade.
You and Maher plus your mother are my worlds.
Regret is a powerful thing that comes too late to someone. But always forgive others but not for them but for yourself.
You need it more than they do.
Take care of yourself, my daughter.
Your loving father.
Jade looked at the letter and felt tears falling down her face. She felt the love that her father had for her.
And now she understood why they did what they did.
As she put the letter back in the envelope, something fell out of it. Jade picked it up only to find that it was a pendant that she would always wear with her necklace but somehow it got lost in the mall.
He was there. He made sure that I was safe.
Alhamdullilah.
It was a heart pendant that opens revealing a picture inside.
Jade and Maher's.
Mother and Father might have done this. Thank you so much. And I already forgave you a long time ago.
You will always be my parents and I will always be your daughter. Thank you so much.
The love between parents and their children is unique. No one will be able to understand it no matter how much they tried to. A mother's love for her child is innocent that only they can feel.
