Chapter Twenty-Eight

Bonus Chapter Two.

Three Years Later.

Both Rocco and Jayden never realized what they would have achieved in the last three years.

Both of them now are fathers to amazing children and husbands to their best friends.

Maya and Jade.

Marriage always had ups and downs but they overcome them day by day.

Thanks to their families who always knew what advice they will need especially when it came to their husbands.

It was Jade and Jayden's turn to prepare the kids' birthdays as all of them were born on the same day. And it was a great thing because their daughters have the same personality as their mothers.

Each year they make their kids choose the theme for their birthdays. Even if they were a year old.

They would keep a few items in front of them and they would choose from there.

"Alhamdullilah, they didn't end up choosing the theme that would require a lot of time to put together. At least, they would each have their part in each decoration", Jade tells her husband as she finished putting up the last balloon for the party.

"It wasn't that hard...."

Jade glared at her husband knowing that he will do anything and everything to spoil their kids. And she wanted their kids not to get spoiled.

"Okay, fine. It is the hardest but they are only three and I say we should let them have fun until they are ready to be taught about what's right and what's wrong", Jayden tells his wife. "I don't want to be one of those strict parents who wouldn't let their kids have fun", he added.

Jade knew what he was saying and he was right.

"Okay, we will do that. And no more extravagant parties for them when they reach...."

"Yes, I agree with you", says her husband cut her off.

In a few minutes, it was time for the four toddlers to arrive at their party. Rocco and Maya arrived at the party with them.

"Okay, guys. Don't run and walk slowly".

Maya and Rocco lead them to the backyard where the party was being held. The kids didn't know where they were going but they knew that it was their birthday and their families have planned a party for them.

"Surprise!!!"

Everyone who was there stood up and surprised them with confetti. The kids ran to their grandparents and hugged them.

This is what family is like. Love, care, and respect.

The four couples look on at their children who were having fun with their family.

On the table, there are four cakes, one for each child.

Their favorite princess and superhero.

It was time to cut the cakes, Rocco held his daughter's hand while Jayden did the same.

And their wives held their sons' hands and started cutting their cakes while everyone sang the happy birthday song for them.

Maya watched as her daughter Sarah took a plate and ran to a little boy and handed it to him.

"I guess history is repeating itself", Maya says to her husband while watching her daughter sharing the cake with the little boy.

"No, there won't be any history...."

Rocco started to walk away when Maya stopped him.

"Let her have fun or you will be sleeping on the couch for a week", she says glaring at him.

"Fine, but she is just three...."

"So was I. Remember?".

Rocco shook his head knowing that his wife was right but he couldn't help but feel overprotective of his daughter.

His family is important to him, especially his in-laws who have always been there for him.

Meanwhile, Layla couldn't help but laugh at them knowing that indeed history is repeating itself with her granddaughter.

Jason and Liam looked at each other and their wives knowing that Sarah is just like Maya in every way including making friends.

"Do you think that they will have a great friendship?", Jade asks her sister while looking at their daughters who were sitting with two little boys.

"Yes..."

"They will have to go through us if they want to be friends with our princess", Rocco says while walking towards them with Jayden by his side.

"If our daughter doesn't have friends, I will tell her about you two, who are trying to...."

"We didn't mean it that way. All he meant was that they will have friends but as long as they are happy with their friends", Jayden says pointing at Rocco.

"That's enough guys. Maya, you know how these two are. It is like arguing with a wall that doesn't budge", Jade tells her sister. "Let mamma and dad deal with them", she added taking her sister's hand and leaving the two men alone.

"Look what you did. You could have just let them say what they wanted and we could be the overprotective fathers to our princesses without them knowing. But you had to say something", Jayden scolded his brother.

"Why are you blaming me? Nothing will happen, let's join in the party and have fun with our family".

Jayden and Rocco joined their families in making their kids have fun and be happy. It was like a fairytale that no one thought would happen but it did.

And it was all thanks to Maya sharing her birthday cake with Rocco while Jade became Jayden's partner in the high school dessert project.

Sarah looked over to see her uncle Hamza who was looking at a young woman without blinking. She then walked toward him and held his hand to lead him to the playing ground.

"Let's play fetch", she tells him while throwing a ball at him.

Hamza couldn't help but smile at his niece who was trying everything just to see her uncle smile.

"Okay, let's play".

The other kids joined them and then Sarah walked to Aliya and took her hand and then Sarah led her to the playing ground for her to join in the fun.

"It is okay, I will just stand here. You go and have fun", Aliya tried to protest but knowing how stubborn Sarah is, she reluctantly agreed and walked to the playing ground to play with everyone who was there.

Maya looked at her daughter who was trying to make her uncle smile even though the person that he thought hurt him is there.

She always wanted her family to be happy but Hamza didn't want to even after finding out what they did to Aliya. He didn't want to believe it.

Hamza remembered what his great-grandfather told him before he died.

Don't judge someone based on what people are saying about them. Remember that I have given you everything that you need to know about her.  Don't let anger and hatred rule over you.

He took a deep breath and excused himself and walked away from the kids. He knew that Sarah would feel bad but he needed time for himself.

Aliya looked as he walked away knowing that it was because of her that he is like that.

She decided to leave and never try to explain herself to him anymore. Because he was too stubborn to acknowledge the fact that what they told him wasn't real.

Aliya walked to Maya and Jade to say goodbye and apologize for the inconvenience that she had caused.

"Thank you for inviting me. Even though I know that my presence will always bother him. I will be going now, my Nanny is all alone and she isn't feeling well," Aliya says to them. She then took out four gifts for their children and handed them to Jade and Maya. "This is for the kids", she added walking away from there.

Sometimes it is better to let things be the way they are and not to disturb them.

Aliya remembered what her Nanny Lea told her when she was adamant about clearing her name to the person her heart belonged to.

Hamza.

Aliya knew that whatever she did, it won't be enough for him.

He will always believe them over her even with all the evidence that was given to Hamza.

She walked out of the house and as she was about to walk toward the bus stop when Hamza called out to her.

"Can we talk?", he asks her.

"I tried to talk to you ever since that day but you kept turning me down and believing her. Maybe it's for the best that we never see each other again. Be happy Hamza with her.  You two deserve each other", she tells him. Before walking away from him, she smiled and says: "You were blinded by revenge even though you knew me. But I guess I was wrong, you don't know me. If you did, you would have listened to me", she added walking away from him.

Hamza watched as Aliya walked away from him and he knew that he needed to do something before anything happens.

He got into his car and drove to the bus stop.

He found her sitting on the bench waiting for the bus.

I hope what I am doing is the right thing.

Hamza got out of the car and walked toward Aliya and took a seat beside her.

This made Aliya confused to see him sitting beside her.

"It's my turn to talk and for you to listen. I am sorry for not believing you when you were telling me the truth. I am sorry for everything that I have done to you and I am....."

As he was about to finish what he was saying when a car stopped and a guy walked out of it.

"Ready to go?", the guy asks Aliya.

Hamza lifted his head to find Asad standing there.

"We haven't finished talking...."

"Yes, we have", Aliya says to Hamza before turning to Asad and telling him that she is ready to go.

Asad knew that Hamza was trying to apologize to Aliya but what was done is done.

How can someone change overnight just because they believed liars? If he was a true friend he would have heard her side before judging her.

"I will see you around".

Hamza watched as Aliya and Asad got into the car and drove away.

It was too late for me. But I won't stop until she forgives me. I need her, I want her, and I will have her.

There will always be two sides to the story, the truth, and the lie. Just like a coin that has two sides.

We can't always believe anyone that tells us that someone is bad because they said so.

Know them first before judging them.
