Chapter Twenty.

Two months later.

Jade Losing Her Mother{Warda}.

It has been almost three months since the two sisters go married. Warda thanked Allah every day for making her be there for her daughter's wedding.

She knew that Jade would have anything and everything to get her the best doctors in the world. But she didn't want to prolong the inevitable.

Death.

Every living soul will taste death, no matter who or where they are.

"Jade, look at me, my child", Warda tells her daughter who was fidgeting with her fingers trying to fight the tears that were in her eyes. "Take care of your brother, and also always remember that your father and I loved you both very much and if I could turn back the time, I won't have done what we did...."

"I forgave you, mum and dad, too. But there's a new treatment that you can do to get better...."

Warda smiled at her daughter knowing that her time is almost up. And she will always be proud of her daughter's accomplishments and also to have someone like Jayden by her side.

"I don't want that anymore, Jade. The treatments, the chemo, and everything that comes with it. I am tired, habibty. But don't ever forget that you are my brave and tough daughter. Take care of your brother. Make sure he doesn't get into trouble..."

Before Warda could even finish what she was saying when she started coughing making Jade jump to get her water.

"Here, mother. Drink this and please calm down", Jade tells her mother who just smiled at her.

"I am fine, don't worry. I just need to say goodbye and rest for a while. Because I am tired. Could you call everyone inside for me to say goodbye?", she asks her daughter. "But this isn't goodbye, remember that", she added kissing her daughter's forehead.

Jade walked out of the hospital room, trying to hold her tears.

She asked her parents, sister, and her husband plus her brother to go inside the room.

"Go on, I will be right there".

As soon as they all went inside, Jade sat down on the bench and couldn't control the tears from falling from her face.

"Hey, it's okay. I am here. Cry all you want",  Jayden says hugging her and trying to soothe her.

"She is dying, and I can't do anything about it...."

"Yes, you can do something. You can pray that you meet her in Jannah. And that she will get to reunite with your father. I know that it will be hard but always remember that you always have her in your heart and also in your prayers", Jayden tells her wiping her tears.

"I know but I just found her and I wanted her to get to know our future children. To be their grandmother..."

Jayden took his hand and placed it on his wife's cheeks.

"They will know her. You will tell them your stories and how she and your dad were. Plus your brother might even have some pictures or even videos of your parents. They will always be right here", he tells her placing her hand near her heart. "And they will be closer to you in your thoughts and prayers", he added kissing her forehead.

"I know and thank you for this. No wonder mum loved you from the first she met you", Jade says to him. "She once told me never to let you go and you are my soul mate", she added laughing remembering the conversation she had with Warda.

"Come on, you don't want to miss your chance to hug her", Jayden says to her and took her hand, and then leads her inside the room.

As soon as Jade walked in, Warda knew that it was time for one last goodbye to her children.

She was thankful to both Layla and Jason for what they did for her and Jade.

And now Maher will stay with them.

Saying goodbye is the hardest thing that I could ever do. Especially to my daughter. I said goodbye to her a few years back and now I am saying goodbye to her because of this illness. But I know that this isn't goodbye, in shaa Allah we will see each other in Jannah.

Warda motioned for both Jade and Maher to be by her side.

Jayden nudged her and she slowly walked to her mother's side.

Warda hugged them and whisper how much she loved them.

"It is time for my nap. Thank you so much for everything. To all of you", she says to everyone who was in the room.

Warda quietly said her shahada and closed her eyes making the heart monitor stop.

Alhamdullilah she is now at peace.

Jade hugged her brother while Jason placed a bedsheet over Warda.

Layla and Maya walked to both Jade and Maher to hug them.

"You are now my brother through Jade. Don't worry about anything, mum and dad will take care of everything", Maya tells him.

Jade was lucky to have found a family like this one. I am thankful that I get to see that. And now that Mum is gone, I don't know how I will cope with her.

A few days later after the funeral and burial were over. Jason and Layla welcomed Maher into their home.

"If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask me or even Jason. I know that I can't and will never replace your mother but I always remember that whenever you want someone to talk to. You can talk to me or even Jason about anything", Layla tells him after showing him his room. "You have us, Maher. Take your time", she added leaving him to unpack his things.

Each day wasn't easy for Maher but thankfully he had the support of his sister, Jason, and Layla who always told him that if he needed anything to let them know.

Maher had one last year of high school and dreamed of going to his dream college to be a doctor but now, he didn't think his dream would turn into reality.

But one day, Jason came home with a surprise for him.

"This is for you", Jason says to Maher. "A lawyer came to me and gave me that file. It seems your mother knew about your dreams and she made sure that you will achieve them," he added.

Maher was confused about what Jason gave him. He opened it to find that he had a college trust fund that existed.

"How? Mum never mentioned this to anyone", Maher says to him as soon as he saw what was written in the file.

"It seems she knew what would happen to her and she was prepared for what was to come. Jade had also received hers a few days ago," Jason tells him.

"Thank you. Because of this, I will be able to fulfill my dream. And thank you for taking me into your family and home," Maher says to him. "Can I call you Uncle?", he asks making Jason surprised.

"Yes, you can call me that", Jason says to him.

In the coming days, Maher, Jade, and Maya grew close as siblings. But this didn't sit well with Rocco.

Maher looked at Jade and raised his eyebrows. She immediately understood what he was trying to tell her.

"Maya, you tutor me because I can't understand the assignment that I was given in class", Maher says while looking at Rocco's reaction.

"Sure, I could......"

"No, I will help you. You stay away from my wife", Rocco cuts her off.

This made Jade and Maher laugh at him.

"See I told you so," Maher says to Jade. "Chill, I am not interested in her. Plus I consider her to be my older sister," he added smiling.

"Fine but don't joke like that next time......"

"There won't be the next time...."

Jade and Maher looked at each other and started laughing at Rocco when they saw Maya glaring at him.

"I guess someone is sleeping on the couch when we get home and that someone isn't me", Maya says glaring at her husband.

"Maya, don't do that. He promises never to do that again, don't you?", Maher asks while nudging Rocco who nods without even listening. "If he does then he will sleep with Jayden...."

"Thats never going to happen, brother. You better say sorry right now?", Jayden cuts Maher off.

The two brothers started bickering while Jade, Maya, and Maher watched amused by how much the two brothers didn't even bother to look at the culprits.

Alhamdullilah.

Sometimes regret happens when you least expect it. But when it hits, you have no idea how to react to it.

Love, life, and be happy.
