Jade's Interview With Jayden.

Jade waited for Jayden in his office while he was busy with Luciana.

She disliked waiting for anyone especially when it feels like waiting time which to Jade is very precious.

"I am sorry to keep you waiting, I had a problem to take care of", Jayden tells her as soon as he walks into the office.

"Its okay. No worries".

"Okay, let's go to the kitchen and start you interview. Please follow me", he says to her gesturing for her to follow him.

Ya Allah, I just hope he won't be an ass about this. And he won't give me something that I dislike cooking. Let's do this.

Jade gave herself a pep talk while following Jayden to the kitchen.

"Here", he gives her an apron. "Put it on and set your things there on that sofa", he added pointing at the sofa that was in front of them.

Jade shook her head and put on the apron without taking her hijab off. He then showed her where everything was and then took a seat on one of the stools.

Being a chef is one of the best things that could happen to Jade. Cooking has always been her passion and now she has to showcase that in front of her high school crush that is standing in front of her.

Despite being nervous, Jade knew that she will nail this. But this was someone she knew through high school but this time it was different.

"Okay, Jade are you ready?", Jayden asks her while looking at Jade's folder which is in his hands.

"Yes Chef. I am ready", Jade answers confidently.

"Okay. Prepare for me your favorite dessert. You have one and a half hour to complete and serve it", Jayden tells her. "You can start now", he added taking a seat on one of the chairs.

The first thing Jade did was to take a deep breath and remembered what she and her father Jason would make each time they would cook.

It was a chocolate mousse but with a twist that no one knows except Jade and her father Jason.

Jayden knew that she could do it. She did it in high school when they were partners in a cooking project. It isn't different now except for the fact that he is interviewing her for a Patissier in the restaurant.

This was Rocco's idea to hire Jade as part of the restaurant staff.

Jayden watched how she moved into the kitchen. She didn't panic as most people do. Jade composed herself and started working step on what she was making.

Jade needed this job to be independent of her family as she didn't want to feel like a burden to them.

"One hour left", Jayden tells Jade who just nods. But to his surprise, the timing he gave her wasn't even finished when she placed the dessert in front of him making his jaw fall to the ground.

He didn't expect her to be that fast.

"This is what dad and I make whenever we were home bored. It a chocolate mousse with a twist. The twist is in the preparation of the mousse itself. I added a pinch of salt to adjust to taste", she explained to him.

Jayden looked at the dessert that was in front of him. It looked elegant and ready to eat.

He then looked at Jade who was standing there waiting for him to taste it and give her his verdict.

"Am I on time?", a husky voice asked making Jade and Jayden turn to look who it was.

"Yes, you are on time. Come and taste this", Jayden tells Rocco who smiled when he saw what was on the table.

It was the mousse that she loved to prepare for Rocco, Maya, and their parents when they were still in high school.

It brought great memories that can never be forgotten even if Maya is trying to force them away from her.

Before Jade could ask what Rocco was doing there he told her that the restaurant is co-owned by both him and Jayden.

"Now, tell me is this the same mousse you used to make when we were stil in high school?", Rocco asks as he takes a spoon and starts eating the delicious dessert.

"Don't answer that. I can tell it is. And one more thing, you are hired", Rocco says grinning while Jayden looked at him shaking his head.

"Rocco, you know that you can't just come in the restaurant and hire people on the spot, that's my job remember", Jayden says to him.

"Why? You were going to do the same thing , right?", Rocco asks him. Before he could answer Rocco added "Don't lie brother. You know that you can't considering that you have finished almost everything on your plate", he added pointing at the almost empty plate.

"Okay, but will talk after this", Jayden tells him and then turned to face Jade and said; "You are hired and you can start right away or maybe tomorrow. That's your choice", he added because that's what Rocco suggested to him to say to Jade.

"Thank you. I will start tomorrow if that's okay with you?", she asks him.

Jayden nodded and finished the mousse that was on his plate.

"Thank you for this great opportunity. I will see you, Rocco, Chef", Jade says to them while mocking Jayden who didn't even notice her doing it.

"You are welcome, Jade and keep making these delicious desserts for me. Only for me", Rocco tells her winking at her.

"Of course. I will see you".

As soon as Jade left Jayden turned to look at Rocco who was stuffing himself with the mousse.

"Rocco, are you kidding me?", Jayden exclaimed while trying to take away the plate but Rocco was so quick that he scooped the plate and run toward the fridge.

"Fine, you can have it but we need to talk. Come on to the office", Jayden tells him while dragging Rocco toward the office.

"Whats the matter, brother?", Rocco asks as he continues stuffing his mouth with the chocolate mousse.

"Could you put that down and please listen to me?", Jayden begged him.

"Okay but don't you dare touch it," Rocco says putting the plate on the desk. "Okay, I am listening", he added taking a seat on the chair.

"Why did you make me hire her?", Jayden asks him.

"Her? You mean Jade? Because I wanted to help her in discovering her dreams of being a chef. And theres no one else who can help her in that other than you", he explained to him.

"Rocco, I know you and this isn't the only explaination that you have, right? Don't lie because I can tell when you are lying and also whatever you are thinking I suggest you put a stop to it. We will be just colleagues and that's it", Jayden tells him.

"I didn't do anything, Jayden. I just giving you two a push that you will need...."

"What about you and Maya? Did you work things out?", Jayden interrupts him.

Rocco explained everything that had happened that morning and Jayden couldn't help but feel sad for him.

"Don't feel sad, brother. I did hurt her and this is what I deserve to be treated by her. But I am working on it and I need Jade and also her parents' help plus yours too", Rocco tells him.

"I am ready to help you in whatever you need but you can expect me to have feelings for Jade...."

"I didn't say feelings, Jayden. All I said was that I need your help that's all", Rocco says smirking inwardly.

"Idiot, fine. I will help you. But please don't...."

"Yes, yes I know. Don't do anything to make you two discover your feelings for each other. Now, can I get back to my deliciousness?", Rocco asks mocking him.

"Okay, fine. But sharing is caring, brother", Jayden tells him taking a spoon from his drawer and unwrapping the plastic before digging in the mousse.

"Hey don't eat it all".

The two of them started arguing about who got the last piece.

But the only two things that are on Rocco's mind are getting Maya back in his life and getting his brother and Jade to get together as they are meant to be. But that didn't happen because of something that happened between them in cooking school.

And that's not Rocco's story but Jade's to tell.

Only time will tell if he will succeed or not.
