Chapter Ten.

Jade And Jayden Visit The Mother Who Abandoned Her. (Part two}

"Jade, my daughter....."

Jayden knew that Jade needed him now more than ever especially when she is in front of one of the people that hurt her more than anyone.

He quickly held her hand with his squeezing it assuring her that he is always there for her no matter what happens.

"She is my sister....."

Maher asks his mother as she took a seat with tears in her eyes while looking at both of her children.

"Yes, she is your sister. And your father and I....."

"Abandoned me in a mall when I was barely 5 years old, right, ma'am?", Jade interrupts her.

"I...."

"You are sorry, you want forgiveness, you want me be your daughter, right?", Jade asks her. "And I am here for answers and not to be involved in your family affairs. So tell me why did you do it? Was I a burden? Unwanted? Or you didn't even want to care....."

"I...I am sorry. We weren't in a state to look after a child that we didn't plan on having. I know that with me saying this you will probably hate me more than you ever did, right? You want the truth, and I will tell you everything because I don't have much time left on this earth as the cancer has already spread to my lungs and theres no cure for it", Warda tells Jade. "We left you because we couldn't take care of you. And our family didn't even want to help us when we went to them. We thought that it would be best that we let you go for you to be happy. To have a better life than we could give you. And we were right. You did have a great life and I am happy that I could met you and tell you everything that happened", she added wiping her tears while looking at Jade and Jayden who were holding hands.

"Why didn't you look for me to see if I was alive or dead? Why did you leave me at the mall instead of the orphanage? Answer me", Jade asks her with tears in her eyes that couldn't stop falling.

"Your father did try to find you but he wasn't successful and he tried and tried again. Until he got sick, that's when I told him that I would try again but unfortunately, he died before I would tell him that I found you. And we tried taking you to the orphanage but you kept following us that's when we decided it was better to leave you at the mall where there would be someone who would take you in and give you a happy family. All I can say is that I am sorry for what we did to you. We thought what's best for you", she answers Jade. "And we were right. You are now happy and married to...."

"We aren't...."

"Thank you. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. But we aren't married yet. In a few months we will In shaa Allah", Jayden interrupts Jade.

Why did I say that? And now I have to answer Jade after this. It is something that I will have to explain to her and hopefully, she will understand me.

"So you are my brother....."

"Yes, I am. And if you don't mind can I get to know you better, if that's okay with you?", Maher asks Jade.

"I....I would like that. But if your mother agrees with that. I don't want to take you away from her", Jade says while stammering.

"You are siblings, you can see each other whenever you want to...."

"I have a sister too. Her name is Maya and she is the same age as me. And...."

"And stubborn too", Jayden finished for her making her glare at him.

"I forgive you for everything that you have done to me. I will try and visit you again in shaa Allah", Jade tells her.

It was time for them to leave as they were heading to see Rocco and Maya at the school to help them set up an event for Valentine's day even though neither of them celebrate.

It was against their religion to celebrate it.

"Here's my number. You can call me from that number", Jade tells Maher while giving his her work card that Jayden had insisted on her having.

"Okay, I am glad to have me you even under this unfortunate circumstances. I would love to meet your sister too...."

"Good luck with that, I doubt that Rocco will ever let you near her", Jayden says while whispering the last statement to himself knowing that his brother would hurt anyone who would come close to his love.

"I will try and get them to meet you in the coming days, in shaa Allah. But now we have to leave", Jade tells them before turning to her. "I forgive you, mother. Because I am not the one to hold a grudge and I pray that you will find the peace that you are looking for ", she added giving her a small smile.

"Thank you for that. And you young man, take care of Jade for me. Make sure that she doesn't get hurt", Warda tells Jayden who nods at her making her smile.

"I will try my best, ma'am. Now excuse us we have to go. Take care of yourselves and if you need anything please don't hesitate to call us", Jayden tells them while heading to the door with Jade who had a sad emotion on her face. "I know that you want to hug her, go ahead. She needs it and so do you. She is still your mother, the woman who gave birth to you", he whispers to her.

Jade turned around and walked toward where Warda was and kneeled to hug her. This surprised her making her hug her back.

"Thank you, my daughter for forgiving me...."

"I forgive you, mother. You can call me any time, if you need anything don't hesistate to call me and not him", Jade tells her pointing at Jayden who was smiling at her.

"I haven't even asked him what his name is?", Warda asks her.

"My name is Jayden Rivers", he tells her before she could even ask anything else. "I am a convert. I converted almost five years ago but didn't change my name", he added.

"Ma shaa Allah. That's amazing", she tells him.

"Okay, now we have to go", Jade tells them heading out of the door.

As soon as they entered the car Jade turned to face Jayden and gave me a huge smile.

"Thank you for what you did today for me. And for making me realise that she is important than my ego. But why didn't you correct her about us being married...well engaged", Jade says to him.

"I said that because she is sick and looked worried about you. I didn't want her to get more agitated about getting you married. She is a mother who would want to see her daughter's marriage before she dies", Jayden explains to her.

"Okay and thank you again. Now it is time for us to help our siblings to get together so that I wouldn't have to listen to her whine about him not texting her", Jade says laughing as she remembered what happened a few days ago.

"I know what you mean. Let's plan first".

They knew exactly what to do to get them together once and for all.

Warda looked out of the window smiling knowing that both of her children will be happy when she is gone.

Alhamdullilah, our daughter forgave us. I am thankful that she has a kind young man by her side, to guide her, to love and care for her.
