The peasant and the Frost

Once in a country long long ago two very different people were brought together by fate. A rich man named Jackson and a poor girl named Rapunzel. Rapunzel was a beautiful young woman, her eyes were as green as emeralds and her heart as sweet as sugar.

Rapunzel was one day walking through the town when a storm had began brewing. Clouds of dark grey began to circle and the waves once calm became high and mighty. People began running to their small little huts locking themselves inside and praying that no misfortune should come to them. As she was walking on her way home she noticed little blue wisps dancing on the shore, and their lying on the beach was a young man.

His hair was a striking white and he was dressed in fine clothing. Rapunzel had never seen such nice fabric, even when wet it still retained its richness. She ran over to him and looked in his eyes.

"Are you alright?" She asked.

She saw his eyes open for a moment. They were blue like the sky.

She knew then she had to save this boy. Her parents were angered for peasants weren't supposed to interact with the rich unless they were servants and even they did not interact unless spoken too.

"You are going to get us all killed Rapunzel!" Her mother yelled at her.

"Mother what was I supposed to do watch him die?!"

"You should've left him there! If he dies then the rich will send police and blame us. Do you want that?"

"No mother, I want to do what's right!" She insisted.

She let the rich boy lay on her small hay bed as she wiped the sweat off his forehead. The young man had a fever and bad cut on his shoulder.

She was able to clean and stitch up the wound but still the boy's fever was strong, but Rapunzel never gave up. She kept him clean she gave him a place to sleep as she slept on the floor. Her three little brothers would try to sneak in to see what was so important about this stranger but she wouldn't let them in.

Finally came the day when the young man woke up.

"You're awake!" Rapunzel smiled.

"Where am I?" The young man asked.

"You're in my home I found you on the shore and I healed your wound."

"Impossible peasants aren't healers." He said.

Rapunzel was slightly insulted by this comment but she didn't show it she only replied, "Well this peasant happens to know a thing or two. Look at your shoulder."

The young man did and saw the stitches that had been sewn into his arm. The stitching wasn't very near but it got the job done the young man admitted.

"Hm it looks like you did....and you are?"

"Rapunzel." She replied.

"Well Rapunzel it's nice to meet you but I better get going." He stood up but fell back to the ground again feeling dizzy and nauseous. Rapunzel brought a bucket to him "You must stay you're still ill."

"Nothing the doctor's can't solve."

"I can heal you."

"Listen I appreciate all you have done and I will pay you're family greatly for it but I need real medical attention not some peasant healing herbs."

"Let me help you. Spirits guided me to you. They want me to help you. Just trust me." She said.

The young man looked at her with curiosity. She didn't seem much of threat. If she had wanted to kill him she would've done it already. It also didn't hurt that she was beyond beautiful in her rags of clothing.

"Fine I will stay here. Maybe you can heal me." He said.

"What is you're name?"

"My name is Jack Frost "

Rapunzel began her treatment and each day Jack grew stronger, he also grew fonder of the peasant girl. She made him laugh and made him think about things he never really paid attention to. Weeks went by and the two had fallen in love. Life was bliss in the household, even with Rapunzel's mother stern looks. For she knew a rich man such as Jack could never marry a peasant.

Soon Jack's guards had found him. He paid Rapunzel's family handsomely as he promised and offered in return for their services a place for Rapunzel beyond the high walls of the gate.

Her parents did not want her to go but she knew she must follow her heart. She went with him and lived in his palace. She even had her own room although her time spent was mostly in Jack's. Yes there was much physical attraction between the two but their was also something else. Rapunzel would sing to him village lullabies. He would make her laugh.

They were hopelessly in love, the servants would gossip about them. They believed that the poor girl would soon bore the rich heir and be thrown out. Even Jack's father soon discovered the peasant girl and told Jack that he needed to end it soon. Rapunzel was too much in love to hear the mean whispers of the servants. Until the day of the ball came.

She had arrived dressed in a proper high class pink gown. When Jack had introduced a woman she had never met before.

The woman was beautiful with pale blonde hair and blue eyes she wore a white mask and a light blue gown that sparkled when she walked.

"Rapunzel meet Elsa of Arendelle." Jack said.

"Hello." She said.

"Hello, it very nice to meet you. I've heard so much about you. You're even more beautiful than I expected." Elsa smiled with a slight trail of bitterness. "I heard you're a healer and you also sing?"

"Yes I do."

"Oh you must sing for us now! Come please I would love it if you would!" She replied.

"Go ahead Rapunzel." Jack said.

Rapunzel started singing the song her mother always sang to her.

"Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine, make the clock reverse bring back what once was mine."

Rapunzel finished her song and the whole room applauded.

Elsa took Jack away for a private conversation.

"She's beautiful Jack I can see why you've kept her so close."

"Don't Elsa, she is a kind girl."

"I know she is, that's why it's going to be hard when she hears you're betrothed to me." She said "it's you're own fault. You should have told her before she fell for you. You could've left her at her village but no you had to bring her here." She said

"Elsa we were betrothed as children I haven't seen you since we were 11. I love her, Elsa."

"If you don't tell her I will."

Rapunzel had returned to Jack and Elsa beaming with happiness.

"Jack! They loved me. They told me they had never heard such a beautiful song isn't that wonderful! And it's all because of you Elsa!"

"I'm sorry? All I did was ask you to sing." Elsa said.

"No, you were the first person well besides Jack, who was kind to me and gave me the courage to sing! Now the others finally like me. Thank you so much you don't know how much I appreciate it."

Elsa didn't know what to say. When she had spoke to the girl she was civil even though her emotions were swirling but she hasn't think she had been that kind if the girl knew that her real motives were to embarrass the girl. But Rapunzel looked so happy and so thankful that even Elsa felt herself smiling. It was true this girl was nothing but kind.

"You were beautiful Rapunzel." He said to her. "I must tell you something though...."

"No Jack allow me." Elsa said.

Elsa picked up one of the fine glasses and clank it with apiece of silverware softly gaining everyone's attention.

"Thank you thank you. I would like to say a few words. I have heard constant annoying whispers around the palace since my visit here and it has grown quite annoying. I am here to end these vile rumors."

Jack looked nervously at Elsa praying she wouldn't say something that would hurt Rapunzel. He hoped Elsa wouldn't be that cruel to do it in front if everyone here.

"I have blessed the engagement of Jack and Rapunzel. These two seem very much in love and I envy them. Someday I hope to find a love as fair and sweet as theirs. So I speak to you all if I hear anymore nonsense about this wonderful girl I will make sure you are personally thrown out of the palace and sent to work in the mines. Is that clear? Good now to Jack and Rapunzel!"

The guests still a little shell shocked raised their glasses slowly and granted their toast to celebrate the couple.

"Thank you Elsa you don't know how much this means to us." Jack told her.

"I know, like I said she's a very lovely girl. I hope we can become friends in the future." She said and with that she left the room.

For the first time in history on the island a rich Frost married a poor peasant girl. There story lives on forever as does Elsa of Arendelle who became ruler of her own kingdom and became great friends of the loving couple. For love and friendship could withstand anything.

Authors note: originally I was going to make this a mericcup Drabble but it seemed to suit Jackunzel much better. By the way I'm still working on a request for Jelsa and a Mericcup and they should be posted on Friday! Please comment and vote!
