He promised. He told her right at her window. Looked her dead straight in the eye and said he would take her to the lights tonight.

She waited in the afternoon hoping maybe that he would come early. But he didn't. But that didn't worry her. She was worried when it was starting to grow dark. She was worried when she still didn't see him anywhere near the tower.

She was worried when she was able to see the stars. Why wasn't he here? He promised!

She became sad when she saw the first light hit the sky.

She was going to miss it. Another year she was stuck at her window.

"He promised." She said a single tear escaped her green eyes.

She was shocked when she heard his voice at the window.

"Rapunzel come on we're going to miss it!" He said.

She jolted up right and saw him by the window. She rubbed her eyes to make sure it wasn't her head playing tricks on her,

"You promised and now we've missed it!" She cried.

"No we haven't I had to come at the right time now come on!" He said.

"No you're just going to lie and I'll go out there and they won't be there."

"Rapunzel, I'm gonna drag you out if I have to."

"Don't you-"

Jack lifted her up and flew outside with her in his grip.

"Jack!" She screamed. "Put me down! Safely now!" She started kicking the air trying to hold on to his arm.

He hoisted her up so that she was laying in his arms.

"Hold on." He said flying to the kingdom.

"Rapunzel take a look." He said.

She looked around and she was surrounded by lanterns! Glowing lanterns!!! All around her. They were bright and shining and everything she ever hoped for. She reached out and touched one.

"I knew they weren't stars." She said.

"You were right." He said.

"Why were you late you made me think you weren't coming."

"I had a guardian emergency but...I made it right on time."

"You were almost late I thought you went back on your promise."

"For you I always keep my promises" He said.
