When they told her the news she had locked herself inside her room for days her parents brought her food but she barely ate anything.

Her best friend was dead. He had died saving his little sister and now he was somewhere at the bottom of the old lake. She remembered everything about him. How he could make anyone laugh.

She finally left her room to go to the funeral. She didn't see Emma there. She asked Jack's mother where she was. Jack's mother replied she won't come out of her room. A single tear went down her face. She said she doesn't deserve to go to her brother's funeral.

Rapunzel went inside the house and went to Emma's room.

"Emma it's Rapunzel I'm coming in." She said.

She went inside the little room and she didn't see her in there. She knew Emma well enough that when Emma was upset or scared she would hide under her bed.

Rapunzel knelt down and lifted the covers and looked. "Hi Emma."

"Hi." She said.

"Why are you down here?"

"I don't deserve a bed." Emma sniffed.

"Hey don't talk like that. Jack wouldn't want you to feel like this."

"How can you even talk to me! I killed my brother! Your best friend."

"Don't you dare say that. You did not! Listen to me you did not! This is not your fault Emma. I know how much you loved him I loved him too but we have to be strong and work together."

"I can't! If I hadn't asked him to go ice skating then..."

"He would've gone out anyway. Jack hates the indoors. Emma I need you to help me out. I'm scared to Emma and I can't do this alone and I don't want you to go through this alone ......" Rapunzel began to sob.

Emma crept out from under her bed and fell into Rapunzel's arms.

"I'm sorry Rapunzel I'm so sorry."

"It's okay. We're going to be okay. Now come on let's go out there."

They went out and held each others hand. They went near the lake where everyone was gathered around.

Rapunzel thought she heard something in the trees across the way. She saw through the snow a strike of brown clothing.

She saw Jack. With white hair and blue eyes. He waved and almost seemed to fly back into the trees.

She looked at Emma who was smiling and she knew she had seen him too.
