[This is an entry into a writing contest julibug1987 is holding and I thought the topic would be a great imagine. Enjoy!]

The salty ocean breeze whipped around you as you scanned the beautiful landscape before you. You dug your toes in the sand as you watched the tide come closer and closer to where you were standing. Placing your sandals down, you decided to finally get into the water and relieve your body of the blistering hot sun.

After taking your cover-up off, you let out a small squeal as you ran as fast as you could into the water. You giggled as the salty water splashed into your face. You loved everything about the ocean and missed it any time you were away.

You decided to swim farther out because you didn't like to be with the swarms of half-naked people in the water. Trusting your swimming skills, you kept swimming farther until you decided to look back and see how far you had come. Panic began to settle in as you realized you could no longer see the people or the shoreline. You began to quickly and sporadically flail your arms in an attempt to get back to safety fast. Wave after wave crashed over you until one large one sent you underwater. You felt your body being tossed around by the undertow as you began to be sucked into the riptide. The current threw your body around with no mercy.Panic ripped into your chest as your efforts to fight the current were futile. Exhaustion settled in as you kept trying to fight the current. Your lungs screamed for air as you grew very tired and your body went still.

This is it. I'm dying.

A pair of strong arms wrapped around you and began to pull you out of the water before you eventually passed out.

[I know this is terribly short, but it's for the contest and this seemed like a good end for this chapter. The next one will be longer though]
