Impossible Year
[I suggest listening to Impossible Year by Panic! At the Disco when reading this. Some feels, but it'll get better, I swear!]
Jack walked slowly down the street. His thoughts were on you. He loved the way your hair blows in the wind. He loved the way your eyes shimmered when you looked into his. He loved the way you played with his hair. He loved the way your voice sounded when you sang.
Now all he could think about was his lost love. He loved you with all his heart. He would take a bullet for you, any day. He would do anything for you. He let a tear fall as he remembered the memories he had with you. These happy memories were shattered by regret. He regretted ever meeting you, if it meant this huge heartache. He regretted falling for you, as it just led to nothing. You left him about a year ago. You two had gotten into a fight, which wasn't unusual, but this one seemed to not end. You two bickered back and forth, and eventually you left. You just packed up your stuff and left. You ignored all of Jack's calls and messages for a whole week.
You left your green haired Irishman depressed and regretful. He eventually reached his house on his walk and collapsed on the sofa. God, it still smelled like you. Everywhere he went, you were there. He couldn't seem to get over you. He cried for a good five minutes before he decided to go to his room. He dressed in comfortable clothes and slipped into bed. He rolled on his side and looked at the spot in the bed in which you used to lay. He rubbed the bed, fighting back tears.
He eventually got out of bed and decided to get a drink. He poured some gin and gulped it down. His tears fell down his cheeks. He wanted you. He missed you so badly. There seemed to be no happiness, no goodness without you. He looked at pictures he still had of you and him. You seemed so happy, how could you just leave him like that?
Eventually Jack mustered up the courage to call you one last time. Three rings met his ear and then your voice.
"Hello?"
"(Y/N)?! I can't believe you picked up. Look, I need to tell you how sorry I am, lass. I miss you. I should've treated you-"
You cut him off. "Save it, Jack. I miss you too, but I just couldn't take it anymore. We fought almost everyday. That's not a relationship, at least not a healthy one. I couldn't live like that, I'm sorry. It wasn't you."
Jack held back sobs. "Just hearing your voice sounds so good. I can't get you out of my head. God, I miss you. Please, (Y/N), come back. Let me make it up. We can try again, just please come back. I-I love you."
Hearing Jack's cracked voice made you sad inside. You thought you were over him, but in reality you never stopped loving him. "Jack, I'm going to be honest. I never stopped loving you. This whole time I never once stopped thinking about you. I missed you, and I still do. I'll come back, baby."
Jack's heart leaped. Maybe this year wasn't so impossible after all. This seemingly dismal day just got a whole lot brighter for the both of you.
