Friday
(Y/F/N)= Your friend's name
Another week of work had dragged on, but it was finally Friday. Your girlfriends had been messaging you all day trying to make plans. But you were not one to go to parties. You didn't like social interaction, and every time you went to a party with them they would either leave you alone or try to hook you up with some drunk guy. They pressed and pressed you into going until you finally gave in.
(Y/F/N): Yes! We'll be over at 6 to help you get ready! You won't regret it!
You sighed as you put your phone down and continued to work.
-----
Five o'clock finally came and you zoomed home. You collapsed on the couch and slowly closed your eyes. You were awaken to pounding on your door. You jumped up, startled, and ran to answer the door. Your friend's stood at your door giggling as they looked at your tired self. They hustled into the house and scrambled for make-up, straighteners, bobby pins, and anything else they wanted to use on you. They pulled you into your room and went to work.
And hour passed and your hair had been straightened, make-up had been applied, and your outfit had been picked out. You tried to argue against a tight dress, but your friends insisted. You groaned as you put everything on. You walked out and all your friends smiled and gave each other high fives. They pulled you put and into their car.
The whole drive to the party the girls chatted about how wasted they wanted to get. Your rolled your eyes.
"Guess I'm designated driver," you thought.
Soon, they pulled into a driveway of a huge house. They pulled you inside and introduced you to the host, Zayne. He flashed you a grin as he looked you up and down. You rolled your eyes s you trudged through the house. Your friends went to the kitchen to find some alcohol, you assumed. You looked around the living room for a small space where you could be alone. You spotted a corner near the fireplace. You sat down and rested your head on your hand. You scanned the party to see couples "dancing" people drinking and chatting, and what looked like people smoking weed. Your rolled your eyes again as you scooted back into the corner. You watched as your friends dragged guys out into the dancing area and danced with them. You kept scanning the room until someone caught your eye. He was standing near the kitchen with a few other guys. Normally you'd shrug it off, but this guy seemed different from the rest. Although his flashy green hair made him stand out, you knew there was something else. He reminded you of you. He looked like he did not want to be here, like all he wanted to do was be by himself. He noticed you looking and shot you a smile. You blushed and quickly looked away. A quick glance told you that now he was eyeing you. You looked at him and he quickly looked away. As few more rounds of this game continued until you decided to go talk to him. You walked up to him and couldn't help but notice his smile.
"Hi! I'm (Y/N), what's your name?" You yelled over the music.
"My name is Jack. Hey, do you want to head outside so we can hear better?"
"Yes!"
He gently grabbed your arm and led you out onto the patio. You noticed blush on his cheeks as he held your arm.
"I saw you staring at me," he said.
"Oh, uh, yeah. You caught my attention."
"Was it the bright green hair?"
"Yeah and I thought that you were like me."
"How so?"
"Well, you looked like you didn't want to be here and that you got dragged here by friends."
"Yep, that's pretty accurate. I'm good friends with Zayne, the host, and he basically forced me to come," he said with a chuckle.
"Yeah, I'm not the one that goes to parties, but my friends forced me to come."
"Which ones are your friends?"
You looked through the sliding glass doors to find your friends.
"Well, the one over there making out with Zayne. The one twerking on the guy in the Star Wars shirt. And the one smoking in the corner."
Jack chuckled. "Sounds like my friends."
You both laughed. "Well, do you want to go dance?" You were beginning to grow fond of this Irishman.
"I'd love to."
You offered your hand to him, and he took it. You led him to the dance floor and you two began to dance. You danced in perfect rhythm. You two danced to the up beat music until you were out of breath. The whole time your friends text rang on your ears.
You won't regret it.
"Man, am I glad I came to this party!" Jack said as he gently held on to your waist.
"So am I."
