Ding dong
The mist engulfed a shadow of a man
prowling determined with ferocious plan.
Ding dong
The gleaming blade of a sharpened knife
was hidden, fit for taking someone's life.
Ding dong
At another murky street not far away
a tiny creature, striving to survive another day
Ding dong
while looking for a client, unsuspicious
about the approaching man malicious.
Ding dong
Her body was disgraced by many men,
without a choice she did her job again, again, again...
Ding dong
And though her heart and soul were not corrupt
he will not contemplate to change her end abrupt.
Ding dong
A shiver went along her body, frail,
she tried to warm herself to no avail.
Ding dong
A sense of evil, lurking in the dark...
She saw him, handsome, tall and stark.
Ding dong
She knew that face...! Relieved she smiled, ashamed
"Hey, Jack!" she whispered low before he aimed...
Ding dong
The pain was anguish, though quickly it was gone.
Over her neck the blade has swiftly swan.
Ding dong
Blood scattered all around, tick, scarlet, warm.
He finished up his task, firm like a storm.
Ding dong
Small traitorous tear, involuntary sway,
"Now you are free!" he thought and walked away.

If you find yourself walking around in Varna, Bulgaria and see a pink or purple haired 30 years old woman with headphones bumping her head to some metal or hard rock music, that's probably me (Petya Lazarova - Shushet0). :-) Otherwise I'm simply an accountant who writes poems from time to time when the inspiration smacks me on the head. :-) I love to read (almost all genres) and am currently making my first attempts to write a text that is not in rhymes.
A note from shaunallan and gregcarrico
When we asked for submissions to the Jack Anthology, we were expecting stories. We received some amazing entries (the winner will be announced soon), but we were surprised to receive a poem. We shouldn't have been, of course. Wattpad has a huge, and wonderful, poetry library that we, ourselves, have contributed to. We didn't specify in our rules that we only wanted prose.
We're pleased we didn't, otherwise we wouldn't have been sent this, and we love it. As such, as a special entry, we are including Petya's (shushet0) poem. We hope you enjoyed it.
