Chapter 6 - Promise?
Morning..
Khushi watched Arnav talking over the phone so early, he seemed to be scolding a man with name 'Aman' that what's she heard. She really felt pity for Aman, because this man is really a Laad governor, he doesn't have manners while talking with someone. She thought frowning.
She thought to go back sleeping since its 3 am, but the thought of the state of her family now worried her, they must be in tension about her whereabouts.
She looked at him coming back, Arnav stare at her and asked through his eyes 'What happened?'
"Woh.." she stammered and pointed to his phone, "Can I use your phone to call my family and inform them that I'm fine?"
"Yeah.. sure!" he nodded and gave his phone to her, "I don't know why you didn't ask me earlier, they must be hell worried for you!"
"You could have asked me also if I want to talk with my family or not?" she glared at him.
"How would I know what do you want? I don't even know why you decided to get in the train without a destination.. If I wasn't there, then nobody would take you!" he said and sat on the couch.
Khushi looked down, "I wanted to stay alone for some time.. that's why.. They say family protects you from all the trouble and are always with you, but sometimes you feel suffocated in your own home too.."
"If that was the matter, you could have gone on long drive.. I do that when I'm sad, very angry or hurt!" he said.
"I don't how to drive!" she pouted. Arnav face palmed.
"You could have gone to your friend's house or other relatives for some day where you can get peace!" he gave another solution.
"I don't have any relatives in Delhi other than Buaji and I'm staying in her house only.. and I don't have friends because we moved here recently.. I don't know anyone here.. you know.." she said.
"Hmm.." he just stare at her thinking what she said, "But when you think of such things you should use your brain also na.. You could have written a letter to your family and inform them where you're, you could have brought some money and food with you and at least plan the place you're going to.. You came again to an unknown place to you, Chennai.. if in Delhi you only know your Buaji, here you don't have anyone Khushi.. Where would you go? What would you eat? And how would you return? By fooling the ticket examiner with your fake tears!"
"But it worked!" she whispered. Arnav glared at her, and she smiled sheepishly.
"Call them!" he said and lay on the couch, closing his eyes.
"Jiji.." Khushi said smiling with moist eyes.
"K..Khushi?" Payal asked shocked.
"Haan.. Don't tell me that I went missing from just few days and you already forgot my voice!" she pouted.
Arnav chuckled while trying to get some sleep.
"Khushi.. where are you? How are you? Are you okay? Do you know how worried everyone is here for you? Please come back.. Kahan ho?.. Don't trouble us more.. come back home!" Payal said crying.
"Jiji I'm fine.. I came to Chennai by train! And guess what.. I found Tangaballi instead of Rahul!" she giggled.
Arnav opened his eyes and glared at her.
"Khushi.. what are you saying? I'm not getting anything.. tum theek ho na?" Payal asked.
"Jiji don't worry about me.. Now I'm okay.." Khushi said.
"Then come back Khushi.. Are you alone in Chennai? You don't have money with you.. Where are you staying ahn?" Payal asked all worried for her little sister.
"I'm not alone Jiji.. I'm with Tangaballi.. oh, sorry.. Arnav Singh Raizada!" Khushi smiled.
"What? The one who ran away from his marriage?" Payal asked shocked, as she remembered she watched news and saw this.
"Haan.. same one.." Khushi said, "And I'm in his Dadi ji house now, I'm very happy Jiji.. I'm enjoying here and I don't even feel like returning home now.." she ended with sad tone.
Arnav stare at her, he saw her looking down with baby face.
"Khushi! What's wrong with you? Do you know these rich men can take advantage of you? And you just went with him.. he ran away from his own marriage, do you think he can be trusted?" Payal frowned.
"Jiji.." Khushi frowned, she looked at Arnav who pretended to be asleep now, then returned to her conversation, "Arnav ji isn't bad man.. He does look like angry, arrogant and rude but he isn't.. Do you know he's protecting me from all trouble that came in my way? He bought food for me in train, he fought with goons for me.. You know that goon pointed knife to me, if it wasn't him then I don't know what would have happened to me.. then when he took me with him to his Dadi ji house, they treat me so well, they all are loving and caring.. I'm living the best moments of my life here.. that's why I don't even feel like returning.."
"What will I tell to Amma and Bauji? Already Buaji keeps taunting them day and night because of that incident, now you went to Chennai all alone.. I don't know what to do!" said Payal.
"Jiji I know you will handle them.. Just say that I'm fine and in safe hands!" she smiled staring at Arnav sleeping.

Khushi walked out the house searching for Arnav with his phone on her hand, she frowned hearing his phone rang once again.
"Where is Arnav ji?" she thought looking here and there, "And this Aman looks like his girlfriend.. Even girlfriend doesn't insist calling so many times as much as he does!"
"Let me search in garden.." she thought and walked to the garden side rolling her eyes frustrated as Aman called again.
Reaching the garden, she smiled seeing Arnav sat on the floor and Dadi in chair. She was applying oil on his hair and he was busy making faces.
"Arey.. Khushi bitiya.. why are you standing there? Come here.." Dadi smiled.
"What are you doing with my phone?" Arnav frowned.
"Chote.. she's your wife! What is yours, is hers now.. okay?" Dadi beat him on his shoulder.
"Aman ji is calling you since long.." Khushi said handling the phone to him.
Arnav raised his one eyebrow, "From when is he Aman JI for you? Do you know Aman?"
"Of course she knows him.. Pagal ho kya beta?" Dadi giggled, "How can she not know your best friend?"
"No, she didn't met Aman on our marriage.. he was busy working!.. So bolo, how do you know Aman?" Arnav asked.
"I called him Amanji because he must be elder to me.. Like I call you Arnav ji!" Khushi said, "I don't know him.."
"Don't call him like this.. He's just Aman!.." he looked away feeling anger or.. Jealousy!
Khushi was totally confused with his behavior but Dadi understood it and smiled shaking her head.
"Khushi bitiya don't you want to apply oil in his hair? I'm bit tired now.." Dadi said. Khushi wanted to say no, but Dadi would get suspicious, so she just nodded her head.
She sat on Dadi's chair, while Dadi changed her seat.
"It's ok.. You don't need to do this!" Arnav said getting ready to leave. Khushi made him sit back, "Sit quietly.. You really need to apply oil on your hair instead of those gels you use!"
Arnav sat back quietly rolling his eyes.
"I'm happy now that someone is there to take care of you.. Do you know Khushi bitiya.. Chote is always busy with his work that he doesn't even give time for himself.. Neither eats well neither sleeps well.. I don't understand why he's working this much when he just achieved what he wants.. he's already top business man in India and we his family are also happy.." said Dadi complaining.
"To maintain my position Dadi.." Arnav whined.
"But it's not good to only work forgetting your health, your family.. Yourself!" Khushi said.
"It's not easy as saying is! This world doesn't let you live for yourself.. Doesn't let you sleep.. In a blink of eyes you might lose everything.. I had a good and loving family, my father was rich, business was going well, life in school was fun.. but what happened then! My mother left me.. my father went very far from me.. I was left with only my Di.. life in school changed.. I started seeing this world as a harsh reality.. whatever I wanted .. I didn't had money to buy it.. and do you know what I felt when I used to see my Di feeling upset because she hadn't good clothes to wear in college like her friends had? When she felt hungry but couldn't say anything because she knew we don't have enough money.. When it was Mama and Mami who paid our school fees and not my parents.. When I had to study hard and do part time jobs to reach here, leaving my childhood behind.." he said looking up to her.
Khushi stare at him with moist eyes as she cupped his face, "I know it's not easy.. But it's not impossible also!"
"Khushi bitiya is here.. she will surely change your point of view now.." Dadi said wiping her tears, "Hain na Khushi? Will you stay with him always and teach him how to live for himself?"
Khushi looked at Dadi, then at Arnav. She nodded her head, "I promise I will.. Dadi ji!"
Dadi left from there with happy smile, and Arnav gazed at Khushi, "Do you know what you promised to Dadi? I know we're lying but it's not good making false promises Khushi.."
"I didn't make any false promise.. it was from my heart!" Khushi said and before he could utter one more word, she placed her finger on his lip, "Shh.. just close your eyes now otherwise I will pour this oil on your face.."
Arnav frowned and closed his eyes, while Khushi smiled faintly, "Now I will take care of you Arnav ji, just like you care for me.. I don't know why am I doing this for you, but my heart says so! And I always follow my heart only.."
"Arey why don't you call back Aman ji? Yaar, who is he? He keeps calling you more than one girlfriend calls her boyfriend.." Khushi complained massaging his head.
"Khushi don't call him AMAN JI.." Arnav gritted his teeth.
"Acha ok.. sorry.. Why do you get angry so easily?" Khushi pouted, "Aman! Theek hai ab? (Is it fine now?)"
"Better.. he's my PA and my best friend also! He's the one who helped me run away from my marriage with Sheetal.." said Arnav.
"Oh, so what's wrong with Sheetal? Didn't you like her?" asked Khushi curious.
"No.. There are few people that I like their company.. and I don't like Sheetal, for a while I thought to accept her since my family was insisting (Khushi frowned) but it was impossible, I can't even think Sheetal as my wife then forget marrying her.. (Khushi smiled).."
"Do you like my company?" she asked.
"NO.. What makes you think I like staying with an irritating person like you?" he asked.
"The fact that you're replying to all my questions!" she replied back smirking.
Arnav smirked with his eyes closed.

Kitchen..
"What are you doing Mrs.Raizada?" came Arushi in the kitchen and saw Khushi making kheer.
"I'm making kheer for Arnav ji.." said Khushi.
"You're working hard in vain Mrs.Raizada.. Being his wife, you don't know that your husband is diabetic!" said Arushi smirking.
"I know it very well Arushi.. The sugar free kheer I made for Arnav ji is here.. and this one I'm making it for Dadi ji, Maya aunt and Pinky ji.. and now you also can taste my kheer.." Khushi smirked.
Arushi glared at her, she left from there angrily as she thought she would create a scene if Khushi forgot about Arnav's disease.
"Thank you Dadi ji and Maya aunty for telling me all about Arnav ji.. This Arushi irritates Arnav ji a lot, and since Arnav ji helped me so I must help him too!" Khushi smirked.
