Shades of yellow, orange, brown, purple, and red maple and oak autumn leaves were scattered amongst the grassy ground.
The serene autumn evening clouds slowly descended into the blooming sunset as the red and golden rays stretched far and wide throughout the vast sky.
Her delicate footsteps echoed throughout the captivating atmosphere as she slowly paved her way to the very space where a piece of her heart laid.
Four years ago, coming to this very space was always hard for Maya; she hated visiting such a place which only brought sadness and tears amongst many.
But over time, her wounds had healed, and she saw a whole new perspective of the place where the departed souls of many loved ones laid: the cemetery.
Today was a very special day for Maya, and it only felt right to visit the person who once was her everything and somewhere even today held a piece of her heart.
In Loving Memory Of
Kabir Jahangir.
There he laid, the man who was her entire universe far away from the world they both had once created. His flesh was buried six feet deep, but his soul was far away in paradise, watching the love of his life from his new home.
Maya kneeled down slowly and whispered the very words that always started their one-sided conversations.
"Hey... I'm so happy today, actually happier than I have ever been since the past four years. I found out one of the biggest blessings of my life once again; I'm pregnant. Sameer and I are having a baby.
I don't even know what to say. I'm at a loss for words for the beautiful miracles God has given me. And despite me constantly questioning God as to why he took away our baby and you from me.
Now, I understand why, because our baby knew he needed to be with his baba because his mama was going to get all her blessings back."
Constant tears were flowing out of Maya's hazel orbs as she poured her heart out to the man who was once her best friend, her husband.
Ever since his passing, she would always visit his grave and share every aspect of her life with him, whether it was happiness or sadness and today she was here to share the beautiful blooming moments in her life.
And just like always, Maya still had so much more to say, and so she continued.
"Kabir, I also realized something today, and I feel as if what I'm about to say is going to be a betrayal to our love. But then I remember that our love was not that weak, and despite me moving on in life and falling in love with another, you would always hold a special place in my heart.
Tum meri jaan tha aur ab Sameer meri ruh.
(You were once my entire existence and now Sameer my soul)
I have lived without my existence for four years, but now I will live with my soul forever. I haven't told Sameer my feelings yet.
But I can't wait to tell the man who loved me without wanting anything in return that our souls and love are intertwined with one another forever.
I know I have moved on in life and have started loving Sameer, but always remember Kabir. I will always carry a part of you within my heart."
And just as Maya said her last words, she felt the cool air kissing her skin, letting her know that Kabir will always be a part of her.
Placing the flower bouquet on his tombstone and promising to meet again. Maya paved her way out towards the iron gate, where a figure was patiently waiting for her.
Sameer Azad was truly an exceptional man, the way he loved Maya was like no other because despite knowing that maybe he might never get her unconditional love.
He poured his heart and soul into their relationship and asked for absolutely nothing in return. Sameer still remembers the day he met Maya, the very blissful day four years ago.
It was his best friend's wedding, and he had seen how selflessly she had brought two lovers together.
That day was not only a magical day for Sienna and Zahaan but also for Sameer and Maya because they had finally found a home in each other, and that day marked a beautiful beginning for them.
His beautiful euphoric moment was broken by Maya's gentle voice, and so glancing her way and giving her a breathtaking smile, the two paved their way back home.
It has been said that time has its own flow, and just as it has been said, nine months passed by blissfully. Maya and Sameer were only a few weeks away from meeting their baby boy, and the duo couldn't be happier.
Each day their love grew stronger, and even though Maya still hadn't confessed her feelings to her husband, she knew that she had to before the arrival of their little boy.
And so, she planned the perfect date night for her and her husband.
The entire villa was decorated marvelously, the setup was exceptional, and it truly reflected the essence of a perfect date night.
Sameer had gone out to get the specific chocolate bar Maya had been craving since morning, and after accomplishing his mission, he had finally arrived home.
But instead of being greeted with his beautiful pregnant wife on her favorite couch, watching her favorite show.
He was greeted by his beautiful pregnant wife dressed in an alluring chiffon dress, waiting for him with a single rose in her delicate hand.
And before Sameer could compliment his wife, her gentle voice broke their calming silence.
"Sameer, I want to tell you something. I know I'm never good with words, but I just wanted to say that I-I love you. You taught me how to love again, how to live again, and I will forever be thankful to you for this beautiful life you have given me.
My words may fail to tell you how much you mean to be, but just know that if Kabir was my existence once, you are now my soul, my ruh, and Maya is truly incomplete without her soul."
Sameer never knew he could feel every beautiful emotion he has known all at once. The woman he has loved unapologetically confessed her love for him, and he couldn't be happier.
At that moment, his words felt way too little even to be expressed, so he did the next best thing, he gently grabbed her chubby face and placed his warm lips against her rosy cool ones.
Their kiss held warmth, longing, light, and most importantly, love. It was filled with every desire they have ever felt. And at that moment, time had stilled.
Lost in their magical world, the duo only parted away as their little son decided to make his presence known.
Maya's water had broke, and it seemed as if their little baby wanted to be physically be apart of his parent's magical day.
After eight hours of excruciating labor pain and contractions, a healthy eight-pound baby was born.
Their little boy was perfect in every sense. He held the essence of both his mama and baba and to his parents, he was the most beautiful creation ever.
A few moments later, their baby was all cleaned up and brought back to them. His tiny fingers and features warmed Maya's heart, and she would forever treasure her precious gift from above.
"What should we name him?"
Sameer knew the perfect name for their perfect son. And so, without hesitating any longer, he spoke the very name for their beloved son.
"Jahan Kabir Azad. May our son's name is going to be Jahan. He is our entire universe, and he's a reflection of Kabir; no other name could ever be more perfect for our son."
And at that moment, their eyes spoke more words than they could've ever said. The two knew without uttering any words the very love held within their eyes.
"I love you May, thank you for being my home and filling our lives with so much love and light. Jahan and I are absolutely nothing without you."
"And I love you, Meer; thank you for being my way back home."
Home is where you find peace, solace, and happiness, and second chances are a miracle from God.
Maya was truly fortunate enough to have found both because despite going through the unimaginable, God blessed her with everything she had once lost.
Because in the end, Sameer was truly her way back home, and Maya was truly the missing piece to his puzzle.
