Chapter fifteen
It was late in the day, that is what Ragini thought, when she opened her eyes and found the room empty. Where is he?
Looking around she found the washroom door open, she slowly stood up and checked it, "nice," there was a small note.
- I'm downstairs, take your time nothing is running away. -
Ragini took her time, meanwhile at the hall.
"Wow that's so great of you," Swara hugged Uttara, "I'm so surprised, I haven't expected this coming for us."
Uttara smiles happily, "Bhabhi happy anniversary once again."
Sanskaar was looking at the fully, thick pancakes, "wow, you made them Uttara?"
Uttara shook her head, "no, Laksh Bhai did."
"Wow, I'm impressed Lucky."
Laksh looked at him, "damn get it into your head it's Laksh!"
Sanskaar nodded, "okay, Laksh. It's amazing how much you can learn in 6 months."
"You mean 30 years of life, yes, you learn a lot when you are independent and on your own."
They looked at him, "Lucky, you are 28 not 30." A short laugh of Sanskaar raised the anger of Laksh.
"When I say I'm 30, then I am 30 years old!" He even stood up with a hand turned into a fist.
"Laksh?!" The scared yet soft voice of Ragini got his full attention.
She released a sight, making her way, she took his hand, "you are still in your pyjamas, come." She didn't need to drag him he simply followed her.
Back in their room, she saw his angry face, "Laksh, you are 30?"
Laksh nodded, "I'm older than him," he huffed with a pouted face.
Ragini couldn't hold herself and laughed, "aww, but profile of yours showed 28?"
Laksh just shook his head, "I know, I told them even wrote a message, but the profile was out and a few proposal come in. As soon as I was in India I told the families that there was a mistake, they understood as I was honest about my age and didn't tried to hide it."
"Oh, and here?"
Laksh shrugs, "I guess I forgot, but here an email I wrote to the marriage bureau / agency."
She smiled, "I trust you Laksh. Okay, change and explain me what is this cooking thing?"
Laksh went into the washroom, "after the death of my parents I was on my own. I learnt to cook and tried to remember the flavours my mom used to have in her food. I couldn't recreated but I was happy with it, cause it brought me closer to her, even when she wasn't there."
Ragini was resting her head on the wall, a lonely tear escaped her eye, "I can understand. I tried a lot of thing just to be closer to her. I was so young I hardly remember how she was."
Laksh came out, "yes, I had her for 18 years you couldn't have her the half of my time, I'm sorry. I really didn't wanted to taunt or hurt you."
Ragini shook her head, "I ask you, cause I wanted to know. Let's go."
They came downstairs and had their breakfast. As it was the anniversary of SwaSan, Laksh was trying to figure out how to escape them.
"Hey why don't you enjoy your special day alone. We are here in Goa, some beautiful places and beaches?"
Ragini looked at Laksh, why is he doing this?
"Haan Lucky, not a bad idea, right Sanskaar?"
Sanskaar nodded, "yes, but where we will go. We are here to prepare for Uttara's wedding, how can we leave like this?"
"Easy, the Wedding functions aren't taking place yet. It's just a day, return in the night or morning, we aren't sending you abroad. Just out of the house. Get a life dude."
They all looked at Laksh.
"What? After the functions started they won't have time to spend together. Even Ragini and I have to go out for some wedding shopping, look we will do the left work. Wasn't it ONLY shopping?"
Swara nodded, "yes, only shopping is left. Sanskaar let's go out, we will have fun."
"Haan Swara, you have to see the city. A sightseeing tour is a must!" Ragini was excited for them.
"Oh yes, don't call me Lucky." He stood up and went up, Ragini rolled her eyes and followed him.
"Why are you do annoyed, when others call you Lucky? I know you don't like the comparison, but they don't know that."
Laksh frowned at her, "I don't like it, because I don't feel to be lucky. The woman I love...." He stopped, "listen Uttara knows it, today morning at the cooking session she felt it and I again explained her, who I am. And she trusted me. That I am Laksh and not Lakshya."
"Wait what? How this happen?"
"Well she show me," Laksh looked to Ragini, "the way you look at me."
Ragini shook her head, "and how do I look at you?"
Laksh lowered his gaze, "at first you looked at me like a stranger, but now I can see more," he met her eyes, those soft eyes making him drown in them.
"Okay good, now let's go for shopping." Ragini was excited and Laksh couldn't believe it, his date plan got ruined by wedding work.
Damn it...
The day was long, well it felt long they weren't alone as always someone of the family would be there besides Uttara. She was at home and SwaSan were out for their own day.
AP was looking at the shopping list with Sujata, "only the henna is left."
Laksh is brighten, "what?! Only the henna. Oh there is no need for all of us. How about Ragini and me getting the Henna and you all will drive back home?" He suggested them, he was smart enough not to insist on it, "or I will return home and you lady's can have a nice evening together?"
AP shook her head, "there is no need for it."
He was even smart enough to get the weak point.
"So should Ragini and I get the Henna? We will be at home within the next hour maybe earlier as it's not far from here."
Ragini nodded, she hasn't got his plan yet, she just thought of the elders who might be tired, "Haan Maa go home and take some rest."
AP and Sujata left them alone.
"Finally," Laksh said in relief.
Ragini frowns, "why? Don't forget to get the Henna. A wedding without it, is incomplete!"
She just made her way to the natural beauty Parlour, "Laksh they make organic Henna without chemicals, this is the best."
They entered the store, Laksh immediately run out of it, Uff this smell... organic huh?
Ragini bought it, she came out with a shaking head, "this was so embarrassing." She moved forward while rolling her eyes.
"Oh madam. I thought we could spend some more time together, but you were so excited to buy Henna?! That is creepy."
Ragini looked at him with an open mouth, *ugh!*
Laksh gulped and didn't moved from the place he was, it were at least 5 meters away from Ragini.
"Look, how beautiful I'm sure you would look amazing in it."
Ragini didn't trusted him but only for a second, she turned to the window and saw the dress.
They were inside it, "show me Ragini?"
Ragini was scared, "no I can't."
Laksh confused, he didn't found anything wrong in it, "why, the color is perfectly suiting you and you will definitely looking cute in it. I can imagine it."
"Fine keep imaging it, I won't wear it ever again."
Laksh pouts, "oh yeah, I'm sorry I didn't wanted to hurt or pressure you."
She removed the heavy cloth of the dressing room. He was looking at her, she was looking cute more than this she was looking like an angel.
"You dramatics a lot haan!"
Laksh lifts an eyebrow, "me or you. Anyways I'm going to buy you this, it's a gift and you can't refuse a gift."
Even she tried to stop him, but he didn't listened, they returned home and were earlier than SwaSan.
"Looks like your sister will have a Great Time with your Brother-in-Law."
"Shhh," she shushed him while he was trying to hide his smile. But failed and the others had to laugh too.
