The Future
Despite the fact that only Harry and Marietta were in the office, the next morning everyone could only talk about the new headmaster and the actions that transpired that lead up to it.
When lunch rolled around Krystal was in the great hall with Angelina, Katie, and Alicia.
"I'm so glad today's the last day before Easter holiday." Angelina groaned.
All four girls nodded in agreement before Katie spoke. "So you and George." She commented.
Krystal smiled and nodded, "me and George."
"...And George is fine with the fact that you're still in love with Ced?" Katie continued
Krystal couldn't help but look over at the Hufflepuff table, and Cedric caught her looking at him. He smiled at her and she looked away. "Cedric and I are not together anymore...it was a mutual decision...I do love Cedric and will always love him but we knew when we decided to take our break that the chances we'd get with other people was real, and we respect each other...and honestly, if I'm with George then I'm with George only, and I will put all of my time and attention into our relationship." Krystal said matter of factly.
"But that doesn't exactly answer the question Krys." Alicia put in.
"Do I love Cedric yes, Does George know...probably." Krystal sighed. "Do I love George, No...or at least not yet, but I do have love for him and care a great deal about him and I look forward to see where our new relationship will go and I'm honestly glad he's my boyfriend."
Katie opened her mouth to say something when a loud BOOM sounded followed immediately by people running and screaming.
Krystal and her friends were up and out of their seats in search of the noise, and when they got near the tall doors of the Great Hall they could see the spectacular display of fireworks going off all throughout the castle.
But unfortunately classes went on as scheduled.
When class ended every Gryffindor in the common room celebrated Fred and George excitedly, to them they were heroes for making Umbridge's first day as headmistress a complete nightmare.
As the week progressed the Easter holiday began and they didn't have class for the whole week, but that didn't stop the emphasis on the fifth years O.W.L.s. It was stress to the max as the students were now being questioned about what they would like to do with their future careers.
But Krystal and George managed to spend some alone time together.
"Are you going to miss it?" She asked
George was holding her hand and the two of them looked out at the empty Quidditch pitch from the top of the stands.
"I will, of course I won't miss being told what to do, or school work." He said, "but I'll miss my mates, all of the stunts Fred and I pull, and this" he added as he lifted her hand to his lips.
"Oi, lovers!"
George sighed, "sorry." He said as Fred began to make his way up the stands.
"It's okay" Krystal assured him, she had always adored the Weasley twins and now that she's dating one it didn't change the fact that "if your with one you kinda have to have the other as well." It was something Angelina told her on the night DA got caught by Umbridge and her cronies.
George kept hold of her hand though and Fred only smirked at it, he and Angelina had been going out for sometime now, but they weren't very open with PDA.
"So Ginny says Harry's been pining to speak with Sirius, figured we may as well toss a favor his way and we can exit a little earlier than planned." Fred spoke up.
George nodded, "sounds good, we'll have to fill him in though."
After that the three of them made their way into the Gryffindor common room.
"Well I don't fancy Healing." Said Ron as he looked into a leaflet about St Mungo's healers, "it says here you need at least an E at N.E.W.T level Potions, Herbology, Transfiguration, Charms, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. I mean...blimey...don't want much, do they?" He said as he put the pamphlet down.
Krystal took a seat at the table next to Hermione before she picked it up.
"Well it's a very responsible job isn't it?" Hermione pointed out.
Krystal had in fact been thinking about healing as a career, she enjoys potions and from what she can tell she's quite good at it. With Neville's help she's picked up her grades in Herbology, and with the DA Lessons with Harry as well as the out of school lessons with Sirius Krystal was excelling in both D.A.D.A and Transfiguration.
"Ginny's had a word with us..." Fred said kicking his feet up and causing several leaflets of potential careers to fall to the floor, "says you need to talk to Sirius."
"Don't be ridiculous, with Umbridge groping around the fires and frisking owls?" Hermione questioned Harry.
"Well we think we can find a way around that." George put in "it's a simple matter of causing a diversion."
Krystal looked at him and smiled, she knew this was going to be their last joke, they would go out with a bang.
The twins and Harry came up with a plan, one to which Hermione was seriously against.
The next morning went by as usual, back to class since the Easter holiday was over.
"Miss Montgomery, you are excused today." Snape said.
"B-but professor.."
"You have a meeting with your head of house, which is clear you've forgotten all about."
Krystal blushed and then collected her things, "sorry professor Snape."
He nodded once before turning away from her and continuing with his instructions. Krystal dashed up to find a very impatient looking Professor McGonagall.
"My sincerest apologies Professor."
"Have a seat Krystal." She said a little out of character. when a slight sniffle sounded from the other side of the office Krystal turned to see a smiling Umbridge.
Krystal let out a sigh and McGonagall gave her a small twitch of the mouth that could be mistaken as a smirk.
"Well, this meeting is to talk over any career ideas you might have, and to help you decide which subjects you should continue into sixth and seventh years." She informed Krystal, "have you had any thoughts about what you would like to do after you leave Hogwarts?"
Krystal sat up straight, this is a serious matter. "As a matter of fact I have, and I think I would like to pursue Healing."
Professor McGonagall nodded silently, "that is a very ambitious career Miss Montgomery, you'd need top grades for that, they ask for a minimum of five N.E.W.T.s and nothing under exceeds expectations."
Krystal listened closely but Umbridge interrupted her
"Do you wish to say something Dolores?" Professor McGonagall asked sharply.
"Yes, thank you." Umbridge smiled, "now Montgomery, do you think it will be easy for a muggle born American to learn the magical ways of some of our finest wizards and witches?"
"I'm sorry but I'm not muggleborn, my family is part of the prestigious Black family, and just because I lived in American also doesn't mean I was born there, i'm sorry for your assumptions." Krystal lied haughtily.
Umbridge looked like she had been slapped, she composed herself "well obviously a cousin once or twice removed." She smiled once more at her slight against Krystal.
Krystal turned her back to Umbridge and rolled her eyes before McGonagall continued.
"Your grades are fantastic at the moment and you've been given incredible praise by Professors Snape and Sprout, as well as myself." She smiled kindly. "You will need to proceed with Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Transfiguration, and Potions and I dare say that you will do well as a healer."
"Thank you professor."
"That concludes our career consultation." Professor McGonagall sounded tiredly.
By the time Krystal walked out of professor McGonagall's office it was time for her next class, divination. Class went by smoothly and then she and Ron made their way to D.A.D.A. when they met up with Hermione and soon Harry joined them.
They read their required chapters and filled out the papers Umbridge had passed out but as the class was nearing it's end Hermione got antsy and even chanced getting on trouble by talking (whispering) to Harry.
When class ended Krystal and Ron wished Harry good luck before they joined the angry Hermione as they trotted along to Gregory the Smarmy's Corridor.
They stood along the wall and Ron looked at his watch, "only a couple more minutes til five."
Suddenly the unmistakable sounds of the diversion could be heard.
"Actually I'm gonna head over to the Entrance Hall, this is just gonna be a display of their portable swamp."
"Their what?" Hermione and Ron asked in unison.
Krystal smirked, "you'll see."
When Krystal arrived she took a spot near the back wall and soon Fred and George were being surrounded by a mob of people, and Umbridge couldn't look happier.
"So you think it's amusing to turn a school corridor into a swamp!" Umbridge sounded.
"Pretty amusing, yeah." Fred acknowledged proudly.
"I've got the form headmistress." Filch wheezed as he brought forth the decree giving him the right to physically punish students for their wrong doings.
"Very good, you two are about to learn what happens to wrong doers in my school."
"You know what?" Said Fred, "I don't think we are." He turned to his twin and Krystal smiled, "George I think we've outgrown full time education."
"Yeah I've been feeling the same way" George added lightly, "time to test our talents in the real world, d'you reckon?"
"Definitely."
And before anyone could say another thing the twins shouted "Accio Brooms!" a loud crash came from upstairs before the sight of two broomsticks, one still trailing a heavy chain and iron peg came hurling down the corridor.
They swing their legs over their broomsticks and George surveyed they crowd for Krystal, when he found her she smiled up at him and he winked down at her.
"If anyone fancies buying a portable swamp, as demonstrated upstairs, come to ninety-three, Diagon Alley-Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes," Fred said in a loud voice. "Our new premises!"
"Special discounts to Hogwarts students who swear they're going to use our products to get rid if this old bat," added George, pointing directly at Umbridge.
"Give her hell for us Peeves!" Fred shouted playfully before flying even higher and the two flew out the open front doors, a tumultuous applause followed them from just about every student.
"There goes our guys." Angelina whispered into Krystal's ear.
She smiled, "yep, our guys."
