Home Pt2
"George Weasley, what brings you by?" Sirius asked once the initial reunion died down.
George looked at Krystal, "you didn't tell him?"
"How was I suppose to tell him?" She asked, "thought you would've mentioned something when you came to visit him."
George was going to say something but Sirius spoke first, "so is either of you going to fill me in."
George threw his arm over her shoulder, and took a more jokin approach "Krys decided to upgrade from Cedi-boy." He smirked.
But this wasn't a joking matter to Sirius or Lupin.
Sirius looked between the two of them before he shot Lupin a look, "well the thing is...you two may be together now, but ultimately we don't want to do anything that will harm the Order."
Krystal sighed, "Cedric and I agreed to us taking some time, we're still very much on friendly terms and just so you know he has another girlfriend as well...one that he got with before George and I got together might I add."
George had dropped his arm and instead took hold of her hand in a comforting fashion, this was the first time it seemed they were being reprimanded for being together.
"I'm happy Sirius, and George and Cedric are on good terms, as are Cho and I." She responded.
"You need to stress the importance of our secret to Cedric once more." Lupin put in trying to switch the topic.
"Krys all I want is your happiness and your safety but both of those become jeopardized when an Ex is thrown into the mix." Sirius continued.
Krystal bit the inside of her cheek as she looked up at George, "I think we should put a hold on tonight." She sadly offered. He nodded and gave both Lupin and Sirius an awkward sort of goodbye wave before the two of then left the room.
"I'm sorry about that." Krystal whispered slightly sad and embarrassed.
George shrugged and smirked nonchalantly, "don't be, I can see where he's coming from." He kissed Krystal's lips playfully once before he continued, "if you're free tomorrow you should come by the shop and maybe we can have lunch or something."
She smiled at his attempts to keep things good between them, "I will definitely meet you tomorrow."
He left shortly after and Krystal made her way back to the kitchen.
"Sirius, I've been thinking about a few things."
"Oh?" He asked.
She nodded, "with everything that's been happening I think right now would be perfect if you came out of hiding."
"Krys what do you mean?" Lupin asked wildly. "Do you understand how dangerous this could be?"
"I know the consequences but I also know the payoff if it works...and at the rate the ministry's going right now, I think the public would definitely believe anything that's said against the minister of magic."
The two sat silent as they looked at the teenage girl as if she had suddenly grown two heads.
"Look they had egg on their face with Dumbledore, then as an added bonus they had to really take a bullet with the whole Harry Stories they put out. I think if you came out of the woodwork and 'admitted' that the ministry used you like a scapegoat for the actual murderer they let get away, then that would be the final nail in the coffin for them...and you would finally be a free man."
Krystal and Lupin could both see the satisfaction and excitement of this actually coming to fruition in Sirius' eyes.
"How would we do this?" Lupin asked.
"I know a journalist...I'm sure she would be willing to help." Krystal smiled mischievously, "we'll also have to run it passed the big man and see if he okays it, then fill in the rest of the order."
The two seemed to be on board.
"Anything else you've been secretly cooking up?" Sirius asked her.
She smiled her brightest smile. "I think we should check with Dumbledore and see if it's alright we go and get Harry."
Sirius seemed to light up happily.
"We've got all the same protective spells as his current residence, and everyone here loves him and would risk their own lives for him." Krystal added.
"I'll send an owl to Dumbledore requesting a meeting." Lupin said before leaving the room.
There was a small silence before Sirius cleared his throat, "so George Weasley then?"
Krystal couldn't help but smirk a little, "yeah."
With a sigh Krystal looked down as her admittance came forward. "I don't even know how it happened to be honest, I've always only seen him as a friend sometimes I've even thought of him childish and reckless, but then something happened." Krystal said without mentioning the whole cheating accusation. "Then I saw him in a different light, I saw how smart he really is, how passionate and committed he can be, and also how loyal, protective, and brave he can truly is and then I kissed him."
Sirius smiled from across the table.
"What?" Krystal chuckled as a slight blush painted her cheeks.
"Nothing."
"Just tell me." She insisted.
But it was Lupin (who stood behind her and quietly listened to her conversation with Sirius) who spoke. "You're just like Lily was."
Sirius' smile softened as he nodded his silent agreement, "Lily was something else, although she tolerated and at times even seemed friendly with james, she also saw the horseplay and called us out in it. James always fancied her, we could tell."
"We told him to wait until she came around to accept him." Lupin stated.
"Then one day," Sirius continued, "she just laughed at something James said to her and the rest is history."
Lupin nodded, "James calmed down a little, to be fair he did most of what he did to impress her" he rolled his eyes and Sirius chuckled deeply. "But Lily didn't respond to it, fortunately she eventually saw passed all of that because it's hard to recall a time those two weren't together."
"But you just said she hated him in the beginning." Krystal questioned.
They both shook their heads, "no, she never hated him, she was turned off by the antics we would pull but she never hated us." Sirius stated, "and even when she could hardly stand us, she was always around us."
Krystal listened on. But soon the sound of the portrait screeching pulled them from their conversation.
"Ah Miss Montgomery, didn't I just see you?" Dumbledore smiled as his tall frame walked into the kitchen
The three of them filled Dumbledore in and he actually agreed.
"I'll go and write Harry, tell him to be ready." Krystal nearly giggled with excitement.
. . . . .
"And you say this man is Harry's rightful guardian?" Mr Dursley asked, his walrus like mustache twitching at the fact that four unannounced "freaks" were now sitting comfortably in his family room, and just during dinner too.
Harry sat quietly on the other side of the room, when he received Krystal letter he kind of thought he was dreaming, he went ahead and left his school truck packed but refused to get the rest of his belonging together, he also failed to mention anything to his aunt and uncle in the event that no one showed up.
Krysal could see the indifference playing on Mrs Dursley's pointed face. She knew that even though they had seemed to torment Harry, they all secretly loved him, Mrs Dursley more than her husband and son. He was all she had left of her sister. The very sister she secretly wanted to be so much like.
"Harry will come and live with us, but he can come and visit you all if you'd like, it isn't goodbye forever, just a see you later sort of deal." Krystal put in.
At that Mrs Dursley began to tear up. "Be sure to come back for the Harvest festival...t-to keep up appearances, and write to let us know how your holding up in school and what not, this isn't some sort of party session, you still need your schooling."
Harry looked utterly confused but slowly nodded his head in agreement.
"I-I'll help you pack." Dudley offered, unable to look Harry in the eye. The truth was he never imagined Harry would just leave and it suddenly occurred to him how much he would miss his cousin.
"Thanks." Harry mumbled.
Krystal sat with the grown-ups in an awkward silence until Dudley and Harry returned.
"Alright then," Dumbledore sounded. "We will leave you to enjoy the rest of that deliciously smelling dinner. We'll give you a private moment with your family Harry."
Harry watched as the wizards walked out of the house to stand in the driveway of the Dursley house.
"Well then, I suppose this is it then Potter." Mr Dursley said uncomfortably.
"Yeah" Harry said.
"I just wanted to say, uhh...well you know, for that whole saving my life thing." Dudley struggled.
"It was only your soul they would've taken." Harry shrugged.
Then mrs Dursley began to cry as she sprang forward to hug Dudley. "S-so sweet, Dudders...S-such a lovely b-boy, s-saying thank you."
Harry smirked a little, Dudley hadn't exactly said thank you, but he knew that's as close as he was ever going to get.
With a handshake exchanged between Dudley and Harry and one final look between his aunt and uncle each, Harry turned to leave.
Krystal watched on as Harry exited the house, "alright then H.P?"
He gave her a little half smirk, and nodded.
"Right then, how about we go home?" Sirius suggested.
Home.
Krystal smiled, she didn't know when it happened but she was suddenly aware that this truly was we home now, and these people would be her family for the rest of her life.
As she hooked her arm in with Sirius' Harry gave her a small smile which she eagerly returned.
Now more than ever she was determined to rid this world of the evil that threatened to harm her family and take away her home.
