Good morning to the day!
It's very nice inside, and outside, and all around. The niceness is palpable today. This morning I woke up and heard so many birds in the spring sunshine. It was a good sign that the dormant summer is on the rise!
Kudos to the hand soap in my bathroom for being my inspiration for today's entry. You go lavender hand soap, my biggest pride and savior.
Lavender! What a well-known herb, offering many beneficial health properties to those who are acquainted with it! If you aren't, no biggie. You're in for a treat. I'm going to share the healthy properties of this plant with you all. Personally, I use a lot of lavender soaps, teas, and other products in my everyday life. And not only because they smell delicious!
❃
The lavender plant consists of many different varieties. There are over 40 different strains of lavender, and the plants rapidly spread to the point where some parts of the world classify it as a weed. What gives! In that sense, medicinal practices utilizing lavender don't have to worry about the plant disappearing from their locale; ample amounts of lavender grow nearly everywhere you travel (minus the icy regions and the deserts, of course).
Not only is the scent of lavender quite enjoyable, but its anti-anxiety properties are too. Lavender is a naturally calming herb. Whether it be in the form of essential oils, soaps, sprays, or perfumes, lavender has the capability to slow the heart rate down and improve mood. As someone who is working through a lot of anxieties, I can attest to the calming nature of it! If you're struggling with anxiety and just need to calm yourself down, consider using lavender-scented objects around your home or on your person.
Lavender also assists with sleep. (Makes sense, right?) Its naturally calming properties can be of great use before bed, when calming down is necessary. That's why a lot of fabric softeners are lavender-scented. For those who may not be able to shut their mind off or untense their bodies right before bed, this herb is paramount to calming down the autonomic nervous system and allowing you...to...just...relax...<3
Lavender also acts as an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic plant. For those with skin conditions like acne or eczema, rubbing or spraying lavender on the afflicted area should help with the issue. Also, for those with digestive disorders or very sensitive stomachs, lavender is really good for treating indigestion and gas. I drink tea with lavender in it (certain chamomile teas come with lavender) and find that it really does help me feel calmer inside and out.
Even if you're not a huge fan of lavender, it's not a bad idea to try it out!

QUOTE OF THE DAY
"In all things of Nature there is something of the marvelous."
-Aristotle
Commentary///
He couldn't have said it better! Like our bodies, Nature is regulated by her own internal systems. Cycles of growth and death, seasons changing, intervals for certain things to show up and leave...all of Nature's processes are destined, but can be affected by external stimuli. By paying attention to Nature, we can actually learn a lot about ourselves. Man mirrors Nature, and if we recognize this, we can work with Nature instead of against her. We can befriend Nature and cooperate with her generosity to help ourselves and others. Appreciate your planet, and you are already infinitely better off!

I wish you all lovely days, sending my love out to you wherever you are! Remember how special you are, and use that to make choices wisely. Thanks for listening to lavender.
Love & Light,
Izzy.
