(Izuku's POV)

'What does he mean by that?'

"It's quite easy really, I mean I can see your soul."

'Wait! He can read my mind? and what does he mean "See your soul"?'

"Yes, and yes, it's just as I said, I can see your thoughts, depending on how your thoughts are, I can understand the type of soul you are."

"Woah! Such a cool quirk!"

"Sorry to disappoint you, young one, but it isn't a quirk."

"Wait it isn't a quirk...then what is it?"

"I guess you can say it's an ability formed by my loneliness..."

Hearing such a sad explanation to such a cool power, my face that was-not long ago beaming with excitement, drooped in sadness.

"Hey! No need to feel bad for me, I have a bunch of other cool abilities!"

"Really?!"

"Yup, you wanna hear about them?"

"Yes please!"

"Before I start, I've been wanting to ask you, where are your parents? It's pretty late for a kid your age to be out so late unsupervised.."

Remembering how I ended up here tears started to well in my eyes as a flashback ran across my mind

"Ah...I see.."

As the tears started to drop down the fairy kept on trying to console me, I smiled and muttered a thanks.

"Just as I thought...you're a shaman as well.."

"What do you mean Shaman?!"

"To put it simply, you can commune and exist alongside the spiritual and physical world."

"Huh..?"

"To put it simply, those "Fairies" are low-level spirits, they're quite common."

"Does this mean, I have a power?"

"Yes you do, ah..I just realized you don't know who I am, let me introduce myself, I am Hao Asakura, the current Shaman King."

"So you're a leader of sorts?"

"Yes."

"So you were elected?"

"No, every 500 years there is a battle to decide the shaman king."

"So, you won. But why did you want to be the shaman king, anyways?"

"It's kinda strange...but I wanted to destroy the world.."

"Interesting.."

"Why aren't you scared then?"

"I mean, you obviously didn't do it, seeing as how you're here talking to me right now, and everyone is ok."

"That was my original purpose, but I've made a promise I can't break, and the longer I stay in this position, my hate for humanity only grows. I'm scared one day; I might break that promise."

"So you don't want to be the shaman king anymore?"

"To be completely honest I don't, but I wanted to train a successor with a pure heart to take over before revoking my status and powers.

'So that's what he meant!'

"Yep, so what do you say?"

This is the first thing I've actually felt, I had the right to desire something as much as this.....

So I'll take this risk!

"Please accept me as your successor, Master Hao!"

He gave me a smile and threw a white cloak around my shoulders

"Let's go then, Izuku."

"Wait, how do you know my name?"

"Mind reading, remember."

"Ah, yes."
