When I See You Again by PureHearttheNeko
Shortened Summary: Following a split group of trainers, this musically inspired story is the sequel to We'll Be Counting Stars. These friend's journeries are interrupted as an organization tries to steal their strongest Pokémon.
Review: While the characters were interesting and the Pokémon are great, the plot itself was confusing at best to follow. There's no history on how Stella and her group know the antagonists, and no real connection to the cast. I barely felt connected to the main girl and guy, but not really to the others, and this was by the end of reading both stories. I'd recommend it if it was edited further to include the aforementioned things and was a bit slower paced to get more of Stella's thoughts and emotions on the surroundings. While there's some in the end of the second book, it still felt too quickly passed over.
The strongest part about it is the characters and the relationships they have with their Pokémon, though that could be explored a bit more I think too. I loved the ideas presented, but the execution was a bit lackluster. I would love to see it become more fully realized and the cast become more fleshed out as it was a cool take on the Pokémon world. If it did I'd be willing to read it again since I was drawn into the story strongly a few times. Mostly I think this story would benefit from a reboot to slow its pacing, give space to flesh out its cast and their Pokémon more and sprinkle in more vivid descriptions that aren't so hard to follow. I'd like to see this series come back to the PWAs someday, if the author adds the aforementioned things to improve its storytelling.
