On Wings by Farla_Blackdragon

Shortened Summary: Kanto's Legendary birds face their immortality, with each showing their story through their own eyes.

Review: I enjoyed the difference of this story, but I feel it could be stronger. I really liked how the stories were told individually and didn't have to be connected to make sense. The way they were told was really cool, although a bit hard to understand at times. Without much set-up or explanation, they explore how each bird thinks and sees their world. While it does show how some of the legends see humanity, I don't recall it giving much reason for it. Although I do remember significant events in these stories, I don't feel I recalled much detail until now. I don't believe that's so much of bad writing as it is unclear explanations. I also think the cover would attract more readers if better done. All of the birds are represented in the story, but only one is shown on the cover. This could just be a nitpick, but I do feel like I was confused as to who the story was about until I read it. I think this story could have easily placed if it was better told in a clear, concise way and had more depth than it currently shows (although thought was clearly invested). I don't mean for any of this to sound harsh, as we all could grow in our writing, but having read many other stories I was a bit disappointed in this one as it seemed really neat. I'm always excited to read tales such as this since they take really neat spins on canon characters, so if this one were revised I'd be thrilled to read it again and wish the best to the author if these attempts are made.
