Shortened Summary: Kieran starts his journey with his first Pokémon with a group of friends.

Review: I generally enjoy OC Trainer stories due to the amount of creativity that can be involved.  While my overall enjoyment went below what I was expecting, I did still enjoy this story. It had some elements of uniqueness and thought, but lacks what I was hoping for when I first started reading. Despite the fact that this is a somewhat predictable Trainer story, it has elements that was cool to read about—like the sudden addition to his family and the exploration of different people and their Pokémon. Although the characters and Pokémon were really fun to read about, some relationships felt forced while others didn't get enough screen time for the reader to become attached to them. I liked the attempts at original plot, but I didn't find myself as engrossed as I typically am with Pokémon life. The evil team felt generic, with no discernable goal and no motivation except evil for the sake of being evil. Overall, this story has a lot of potential but would need some editing and rethinking of some scenes. I loved the ending with the main male getting a sibling and his care for his family. The relationship with the girl he likes felt more natural, but I felt it lacked some of the best interactions it could have shown. It felt like the author got tired near the end and didn't give it as much thought as the beginning. This is one I'd like to reread if new scenes were added and old one were edited for grammar/tense/formatting to fix what I mentioned above.
