Emiko's POV
I smiled as I ran through the beautifully crafted gates of the Ryuu clan's compound. I waved at everyone I passed as they laughed at the usual sight of me running through the streets. My smile widened as I saw a familiar house come into view. As if it acknowledged my presence, the door of the house opened as I came running through.
"Ohayo Jinrou-san! Ja ne!" I waved as I passed by my favourite guard.
"Ja ne Emiko! And stop running every time you come here." Jinrou yelled back at me.
I laughed in response and I ran through the doors to the grand hall. Seeing a familiar head of maroon hair, I smiled and jumped as I wrapped my arms around the person's shoulders.
"Kon'nichiwa Kou-kun!" I greeted happily.
I heard Kou yelp at the sudden weight. In response to my sudden hug, Kou held onto my legs to keep my steady on his back. When he finally got his balance, he looked at my smiling face over his shoulder and smiled in return.
"Kon'nichiwa Ko-chan." Kou greeted in his usual calm tone.
It's been a year since Kou and I have first met. I was now 6 years old and Kou was 7. We both still looked the same with some slight differences, main your height. Over the year, I learned that Kou had a very calm demeanor and liked to analyze things until coming to the best solutions. He would no doubt become a great clan leader in the future.
After a few months of getting to know each other, Kou and I finally called each other by the nicknames we made. He now calls me Ko-chan, while I call him Kou-kun.
I smiled as I placed my chin on Kou's shoulder and played with his slightly long, maroon hair.
"So what's on the agenda today?" I asked Kou excitedly.
Kou chuckled at my eagerness and slowly placed me back on my feet before turning around to face me. I had to look up slightly to meet Kou's eyes since he was about half a foot taller than me.
"Father allowed us to go and explore the clan's forest." Kou said with a sparkle on his eye.
My eyes sparkled as well. Kou and I loved to explore but lately we haven't been able to explore any new areas. Lord Akihiro said that we could only explore Amegakure and the clan's compound, which wasn't much after a year, so exploring the forest was a huge deal for us.
"Aki-oji is letting us explore the forest?" I asked just for confirmation.
A nod from Kou was all I needed. I jumped up and down with glee and grabbed Kou's hand in mine before dragging him outside towards the forest near the compound. I heard Kou laugh behind me at my enthusiasm.
"Slow down Ko-chan! We have the whole day to explore!" Kou called to me.
I slowed down my pace as we entered the forest but continued to hold Kou's hand in mine.
"Where should we explore first?"
The second I said that, something caught my attention from my peripheral view.
"Well, we could..." Kou stopped when he noticed that I wasn't paying attention. "Ko-chan, are you okay?"
I snapped out of my short trance and turned to Kou.
"Gomen, I'm fine Kou-kun. I just saw something shining over there." I said as I pointed at where I was looking.
"Shining? Hmmm...." Kou glanced at where I was pointing before looking back at me, "Do you want to check it out?"
I grinned at him with a sparkle in my eye, "Do you even have to ask?"
We both smirked at each other and held our hands together. Laughing a bit, we ran towards where I saw the shine. I let go of Kou's hand as we got into the area. Together we looked in the bushes and the branches for anything that could have been reflected on.
We both looked at each other when we couldn't find anything. Seeing my disappointed face, Kou walked up to me and patted my head.
"It's okay Ko-chan, lets just keep looking. We may find something soon." Kou reassured me.
I smiled a bit at his kindness and nodded. Soon the two of us continued our search. After a few minutes, I came across some strange markings that were carved into an area of hard rock. I stood up and peeked through a clearing to find that the hard rock was an almost perfect circle. My confusion rose when I saw that the markings all lead to the middle.
I have never seen these markings before.
"Hey Kou-kun, I think I found something." I called to him as I made my way to the centre of the circle.
"Okay," Kou responded as he ran towards me, "What did y- KO-CHAN! GET OUT OF THERE!"
I turned to him as I stood in the middle only to gasp as the markings began to glow starting from the outside. I tried to run out but I collapsed to the ground as if a weight had suddenly fallen on top of me.
"K-Kou-kun." I whimpered.
The whole circle began to glow as runes of some sort began to create a barrier around the circle.
"KO-CHAN!" I looked up and stared sadly as Kou-kun banged against barrier trying so desperately to get to me.
I could do nothing but stare as Kou placed his hands to create some hand signs.
"Doragon Sutairu: Ikari no Ken!"
Kou's fists lit with flames. He ran towards the barrier and barrelled his fist towards it. My eyes widened as I saw the barrier seem to have absorbed the impact and power of Kou's jutsu. I gasped as Kou was suddenly thrown back as his jutsu was suddenly used against him.
"KOU-KUN! STOP PLEASE!"
Kou didn't stop. He continued to use jutsu after jutsu, trying to break the barrier. Tears slowly began to flow down my face as I continued to watch him get hurt.
"Stop.... Please.... Kou-kun.... Stop getting hurt... Stop for my sake.... Please." I couldn't help but sob as Kou continued.
"NO! I'm not stopping until you're out of there! You're my best friend!" Kou-kun said determinedly as he swiped the trail of blood off the corner of his lips.
My eyes widened as I suddenly coughed up blood. I covered my mouth as blood continued to trail down.
W-what? What's going on?
"KO-CHAN!"
I looked up and saw Kou staring behind me in horror. I slowly turned around and a scream escaped my lips. Two dragons loomed over my as their eyes pierced my very soul.
What is this?
I could do nothing but watch as the dragons began to circle around me. I whimpered as the glow of the circle began to turn into waves of silver and gold. Pain began to rack my body as runes from the circle began climbing my body.
The dragons were beautiful, yes, but it was more of a deadly beauty. They looked similar to the dragons, on the Ryuu clan's gate. The one on the right was a gold colour with black accents and eyes that were like staring into oblivion. The one on the left was silver and had eyes white as snow and white accents.
The dragons spun around me faster until they both suddenly flew towards me from opposite ends of the circle. I screamed in pain, as they seemed to have gone through me but disappeared as well. I felt nothing but pain. Pain overflowed my mind and body that I didn't even notice that my eyes and right shoulder blade were bleeding. Soon, the pain was too much for me and I fell into darkness.
Akikou's POV
A/N Yeah it's Emiko's dream but this is just so you could have a side of Kou as well.
"NO!" I watched as the imperial dragons enter Emiko.
I knew what this was and what was going on. The circle was a summoning place for the dragons of the Ryuu clan. But since the third shinobi war, the summoning of dragons became forbidden. No one, not even those from the main house were allowed to summon a dragon. Only one person opposed of the idea and he went by the name of Natsu Ryuu, my father's brother. He was not of the main house but one of the branch families as he was not a pure Ryuu clan member. His father was of the main, but his mother was a villager of Amegakure. Natsu did not want the summoning of dragons to become forbidden. So he tried to summon the imperial dragons, which are the most powerful dragons besides the Yin Yang Twins. But to summon them you must have pure Ryuu blood running through you. Because Natsu was not of the main house, he caused the summoning circle to go haywire and lost his own life. This area was supposed to be destroyed, breaking the connection of Earth and Mt. Sukēru no Kishi, which was where all the dragons lived.
The summoning circle had become too dangerous too use after Natsu had used it. So why...
Why had the summoning circle activated the second Emiko entered!? Why have the imperial dragons been summoned without using the hidden clan Jutsu? WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE EMIKO BEING HURT!
I banged against the barrier as Emiko fell to the ground.
"AKIKOU!"
I turned and saw my father and Itachi. Itachi, who usually was very stoic, held a worried and panicked expression. The two ran towards me and gasped when they saw the glowing summoning circle.
"No.... It can't be." Father mumbled in horror.
"Emiko..." Itachi whispered.
I stared in sadness as Itachi ran towards Emiko as the barrier disappeared.
"Akikou... Tell me, what happened here?" Father asked.
My fist clenched as I gazed down at the ground.
"The circle was activated the second Emiko stepped in the centre. The imperial dragons were summoned and are now using her as a vessel," I whispered.
I heard my father gasp at this.
"I couldn't do anything... She was suffering right in front of me, and I couldn't do anything. She's my best friend and I let her get hurt."
My fists clenched in anger.
Damn it! Damn it! I couldn't do anything! What kind of leader would I be if I couldn't even protect my own friend!
"DAMN IT!" I yelled as I punched the ground.
Angry tears ran down my face as I ignored the pain that came from my now bloody knuckles.
"Akikou, stop it!" My father commanded as he grabbed hold of me and lifted me from the ground, "Emiko-chan wouldn't want to see you like this. She wouldn't blame you either. Now stop mooing around. The best thing to do right now is head back to the compound and heal Emiko."
I nodded and glanced at Emiko who was now being cradled in her father's arms. I bit my lip and looked down in shame.
I'm sorry... Emiko.
Emiko's POV
I stood on the surface of clear water. I stared blankly around myself as I tried to figure our what was going on.
Where am I?
"You are in our world." I heard two voices recite.
I turned around and felt my eyes widen slightly when I saw the two dragons from earlier in front of me. The two dragons were lying curled around each other as they faced me. I could only gape as I stared at them.
"Child, please do close your mouth. Sit if you must. Don't worry, the ground is completely safe." The silver dragon spoke.
I nodded dumbly and sat down on my knees.
"W-who, what are you?" I asked as I finally composed myself.
"We're the imperial dragons, one of the strongest summons in all of Mt. Sukēru no Kishi. The Ryuu clan has long since summoned us dragons after one of the members have disrupted the connection of our home and earth. It was a surprise for all of us that a kid like you could have summoned us." The golden one spoke.
"S-summoned? But I didn't summon you!"
The two dragons stared at me as if expecting that.
"Of course you didn't summon us kid. It was all decided by fate. There once was a prophecy foretold by one of the most ancient dragons that a child of raven hair and immense power shall become the vessel of the imperial dragons. When you entered the summoning circle we felt your presence and chose you as our host."
"Me? But why?"
"Everything will be revealed soon, but I can tell you that being are host is both a gift and a curse. That is all I can say. For now, you must awaken. Many are worried for you child."
At those words a light began to surround me. A panicked as I stared up at the dragons.
"W-wait! What are your names?" I asked.
"You may call me Gin." The silver dragon said.
"Hn, I'm Kin. What's your name kid?" The gold one asked.
"Emiko. My name is Emiko Uchiha." I said, as the light surrounding me got brighter.
"See you soon... Emiko."
That was the last thing I heard from the dragons before the light completely engulfed me and everything turned black.
3rd Person's POV
Three people stared at the young girl who lay on the infirmary bed. Her raven hair had been smoothly combed and now falls over her shoulders as she continues to sleep. Her eyes, that was once bleeding were cleaned, and checked over as completely fine. The girl's right shoulder blade was bandaged. Everything had been checked about the girl's condition and marked as okay. All was left was for the girl to awaken.
"Damn it... of only I got there faster." The young boy who sat beside the girl's bed said as his fists clenched.
"Akikou, you tried with the best of your abilities. I'm sure Emiko would have been grateful for your attempts." A man who looked similar to the boy reassured as he placed a firm hand on the boy's shoulder.
The last man remained silent as he stared at the girl who was his whole world. Pain was clear in his eyes as he stood by his daughter's bed. His eyes widened slightly as he saw the slight twitch of the girl's hand. His eyes shot up to her face as he watched slowly open her eyes. But to his surprise, they were no longer their usual onyx eyes. Now they were onyx with silver and gold flecks in them.
"Emiko?" The man asked.
"Papa? Are you there?" The girl asked as she grabbed the man's hand.
The two others in the room shot up at the sound of the girl's voice. Without a moment of hesitance they both got up and towards the girl.
"Ko-chan! I'm sorry! If I was stronger I could have-" Akikou was caught off as his friend grabbed a hold of his hand.
"It's alright Kou-kun. I'm okay." Emiko reassured.
Reluctantly, Akikou nodded but continued to hold his friend's hand.
"Emiko... why are your eyes different?" Itachi asked his beloved daughter.
"Ah, after I passed out I met the two dragons who were summoned," everyone in the room stiffened at this. "They are the imperial dragons. The gold one was Kin and the silver one was Gin. They said that as their host, it is both a gift and a curse. They said everything would be explained soon. I think that as their host, it changed my eyes a bit. What do they look like Papa?" Emiko explained.
"They are still onyx but now have silver and gold flakes."
At this Emiko smiled a little. Soon she yawned as her eyes began to droop.
"Rest Emiko. We'll be back tomorrow."
Nodding the girl fell asleep. Nodding at each other, the two men and boy got up and left the room. As Akikou slid the door close he too one last glance at his friend before smiling sadly.
"Hopefully, this whole thing wouldn't ruin anything." Akikou mumbled.
Oh how wrong he was.

Sorry if you don't like it but it will help give a better understanding of Emiko and Kou's past together.
Now on an ending note, I know I said this in my last update but if any of you are Reborn fans, then you should read "Torn Between Two" written by NethoreTheDragon who is a really close friend of mine. It's a really good book, but sadly my friend won't update until the boook gets more reads. Boo my friend. So anyway take a read and DM me how good it was.
